Question Remember Battle of the Planets?

Anyone here remember Battle of the Planets? Mark, Jason, Tiny, Princess and Keop? It was fore runner to the Anime we know today. I remember pretending to be Mark or Jason in the playground and running home from school to watch it. I remember even at a young age that the program did seem somewhat disjointed and the powers that the young hero's posessed somewhat ambiguous. There was an obvious change in animation style between 7-zark-7 and the rest of the show, most noticeably when a member of the crew joined the little ovoid robot.
The reason? In the original cartoon, imported to the US from Japan, the show was deemed to violent and a bit gory. 7-Zark-7 was drafted in to cut the program up and cover those bits. What Id like to know is, has anyone ever seen an uncut version of this show? Was Zoltar really a woman in the original? (he always looked slightly effeminate to me. Didnt he disguise himself as a woman in one episode?)

I always though that it was wrong somehow. 7-Zark-7 spoilt the whole cartoon, and consequently I didn't watch it much. I never realised that was the reason, and it makes a lot more sense now in retrospect.
