 I've seen Van Helsing, but not X-Men3. The more people talk about it, the more I want to see it, for the good and bad. Maybe I'll get a chance to see it in the theater.

X3 is worth seeing - if for nothing beyond the special effects and Collossus hurling Wolverine through the air... but yeah - the stuff they end up doing that you find out about later... just argh -

What is UP with the CGI pants on Hugh? or the desire for him to be completely nekkid at the end of movies? I'm sure there are quite a few people who wouldn't mind at all, but seriously - there should be a REASON for the nekkid, you know?

Well, I'm a bloke and thought it odd that the atomising effect miraculously stopped at his belt...

 ok... now I really really need to see this movie. Maybe this weekend.

Was the CGI noticable? I mean... it's noticable, but when you watch it are you thinking about it? Or does it stand well on its own and good enough to just watch when watching the movie?

It's not noticable that his pants are CGI - and it wasn't really distracting DURING the movie, but afterward, you stop and just: "Whoa! Wait - how come his pants stayed on?"

Re: X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)

For a straight action movie.. it was alright.
For a X-men fan.. I hated it. I had to keep myself at bay through at the whole movie from constantly saying "********". >_<;
Then again I keep wondering if Rogue will ever meet Ms Marvel.

Its nice to see some fellow movie-goers who werent impressed. For me, Wolverine on screen = big fun. Wolverine not on screen = Electra.

Okay, I will admit that I still haven't seen this yet. I heard some really bad things about it right before it came out. I do want to see it after reading the discussion on here just to oggle certain characters like names begin with Wolverine

Wolverine does nothing for me.. My personal favorite was always Cyclops.

Re: X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)

I finally saw this!!! I thought it was alright. Because I was expecting all this CGI spoken of in this thread and a lack of plot, I think I actually liked it. Ahhh, the ups of having low expectations!

There was a plot. A weak one, yeah... but there was still a plot. I think it was just the pseudo-open-ended ending that might be annoying to some.
The CGI was alright. I'm glad there wasn't much more of it though. I was expecting some huge hooplah type CGI. Only ones that were done that were thrown down the viewers throat seemed to be the bridge and the Wolverine scene spoken of earlier.

Meh. As long as I don't analyze the film, I'll love it. Haha. Naw, it was alright. For the most part, I liked it.

Re: X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)

Hey - as long as it wasn't Stephen Sommers - the CGI can't have gone too far overboard! (what? no, I wasn't pointing at Van Helsing with that - never.... a movie, I do like, btw) -

Anyway - yes, the plot is weak, but at least you could find the plot. So many movies even THAT isn't possible.

See - I haven't read the comics, so I don't know a lot about the X-Men plot lines, so that didn't really bother me. Though, the whole "The Phoenix is a separate personality in Jean's head" thing threw me a little.

I guess I just understand why it was done the way it was - b/c from what I know of the saga from the comics (from X-Men fan friends) - it would've taken a lot longer than 90 minutes to do it justice.

*shrug*

Re: X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)

Well the movie started off ok (it was nice to see a Sentinel) but trailed off very badly once Jean Grey came back. It felt like either a lot of the movie fell on the cutting room floor, or that the writers had no idea where they were going with it and just wrote around the set pieces.
I was very disappointed with the 'easy' deaths of main characters in the first two movies and I hate Halle Berry so seeing her get an enhanced part at the expense of other characters narked me off.

oh and Vinnie Jones is not the Juggernaut.

Re: X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)

I've seen it and it was alright as movies go. I wish there was greater development of the characters though but that was a problem with the previous two movies as well. They introduce new ones and don't really develop them or utilise them to their full capacity.
