X3 is happening... I think it's still filming, but I think it's also still supposed to have a May 2006 release date. I don't know what they're doing.

Don't know that anyone does since they changed directors.

So - they're doing stuff - we'll have to wait and see what 'stuff' looks like...

There is a Teaser Trailer Available -- it's QuickTime format... tho I can get links to others if this doesn't work for some.

It's REALLY cool!

You gonna watch X-men 1 and 2 before watching 3?

Hopefully if I'm lucky enough to catch X3 opening weekend, I'll get a chance to watch the first 2 the following day or even right before it! :rolly2:

I might.

But maybe not right before...

probably a day or so...

I've watched 'em both a lot here recently - couple of times in the last month or so...

granted, some of that was for screencapping

Don't know if anyone has seen these articles, but I came across these while doing some research/studying for a film class.

I knew about the Wolverine spin-off b/c I belong to a couple Hugh-related boards/comms/etc...

But, see, I'd heard that X3 was the last of the X-Men flicks ASIDE from the Wolverine stuff. But - hey - like everything out of Hollywood - don't beleive what they tell you...

I haven't see this yet, but I'm reliably informed that you should not leave the cinema until after the credits. There is an extra scene at the end.

I saw this today. Generally speaking, sequels get progressively worse (James Bond and Star Trek being noteable exceptions.)

This one I like better than the previous two. There was a lot going on, possibly too much going on to fully explain some things.

When a cure is found to treat mutations, lines are drawn amongst the X-Men, led by Professor Charles Xavier (Stewart), and the Brotherhood, a band of powerful mutants organized under Xavier's former ally, Magneto (McKellen).

The ending with Magneto, and the final ending after the credits do lead you to think that this is not the last film.

I've now heard / read that if enough people watch it - they'll make another one. Granted - that came from Halle Berry who said she didn't want to do anymore X-films.... but hey - whatever.

This film is one of those that's kind of 'weird' - I've seen it 3 times and my opinion doesn't exactly change, so much as I 'rethink' things each time.

Don't get me wrong - I loved it - namely that the X-Men get to do "X-Men-y" things - flying, fighting, etc - stuff the X-Men should do based on what's in the comics, etc... ((I still don't understand why Storm hasn't flown before now - they levitated everyone else in the 1st two.))

... ahem - anyway - the special effects kind of bowl you over on the first viewing and there's so much to pay attention to that it's hard to get everything the first time through. I mean, you can get the major story elements, but mostly - you get *SFX* everywhere. Not necessarily a bad thing.

Subsequent viewings lend to the story elements being easier to grasp and they start to not quite hold together as cohesively as you might prefer. There's a lot of 'little' story bits that are lost in the major arc - ie: Rogue-Bobby-Kitty. That story was rather lost amidst all the Phoenix pieces.

Also - toooooo many characters with itty bitty minor parts.

But - I still liked the movie quite a lot.

My one big question though: how does Phoenix make the entire top of Wolverine's outfit disappear, but she leaves his pants and boots?

Keep it at 3. Any more and it won't be a 'trilogy'

I wouldn't mind seeing more X-men related movies, but if they go the way it seems they might go... we'll be seeing a lot of one character as opposed to the team. I like the team dynamic.

They are making a Wolverine movie; I believe there's also a Magneto movie.

The Wolverine movie is based on the new Origins story, I *think* (don't quote me on that). Magneto - I have no idea.

How they relate to the 'trilogy' - no idea, but they're not continuations of those storylines from what I understand.

I know I'm double posting, but this is a different topic from the last one...

Ok, I had made comparisons of the end of this movie to the end of Van Helsing, but I didn't realize it had been THIS similar:

Quote:
In the end sequence when Wolverine is being "atomized', Bruno initially wanted to have Jackman act this naked, but Jackman was extremely concerned about images escaping onto the net, so a small pair of flesh coloured pants were worn. Ironically to maintain the film's rating, digital cloths had to be hand tracked and re-added back onto Jackman to cover him up. Not only was nudity an issue, but much work went into the death atomizing to make it "oatmeal" according to Bruno and not too vivid.

*bangs head*
