40th Anniversary UK Gold poll

For the 40th Birthday celebrations, you can vote for the best 'Doctor Who' story from each of the first seven doctors at the UK Gold website:

Then they will play them back-to-back on the weekend of 22/11/03 amd 23/11/03.

Quote:
Doctor Who: uniquely British, internationally adored, highly addictive, 40 years old. To celebrate this remarkable anniversary, UK Gold will be playing the nation's 7 favourite Doctor Who stories (one from each of the first seven Doctors) on Nov 22 and 23.

But first, we need to know what you want to see. So get voting and pick your favourites. Once you've done that, have a look at all the new ways you can bring more of the Doctor home.
Which is a way of getting you to spend your money on things you don't really need.

Now the bad news

There are no Dalek stories in the poll, nor any Terry Nation written stories at all. These cannot be broadcast anywhere in the world during the latter half of 2003. It seems that the estate of Terry Nation has placed an embargo on his stories while "negotiations" continue with the BBC over £££££. For this reason UK Gold had a Dalek weekend back in May instead.

The embargo does not affect DVD and Video sales and releases which have separate agreements.
