Healing device - first used? - Science Fiction Fantasy Chronicles: forums

Just thinking about Thor's Hammer - when Sam saw Kendra she was afraid because the former host was about to use a Goa'uld healing device.... but I can't remember them ever seeing such a device before, so why would she be afraid.

My question then: did a healing device ever appear before Thor's Hammer???

They thought it was a Ribbon Device. which was first used by Ra all the way back on Abydos in the feature film.

Actually, I just watched this last week, and I think Daniel was the one who was most upset. I haven't seen the movie, but I just sort of assumed Daniel had some extra experience/knowledge of the technology. And we know they have encountered the Goa'uld on missions that weren't shown as episodes, so who is to say they didn't see such a device being used, or hear of it?

When they encountered the Goa'Uld, it was in battle. I really doubt they would have seen a healing device being used.
