Non disc world titles

Any one read the Stratta and Dark Side of the sun serries, certainly not as funny as the disc world, but very thought provoking.
I love the idea that the super intelligent aliens abandoned technology in order to find harmony with the universe. This has always been a contention of my own, that we may not be making contact with other races, because they didn't bother to go down the technological routes that we did.

Re: Non disc world titles

I've read "the dark side of the sun" but didn't like it that much... I had to read the first 5 or so pages at least 10 times until I managed to proceed to the 6th...
But read his first novel "THE CARPET PEOPLE"!!!! I just love it!!! It's great! Do never pic up a toothpick, it might be of great importance to some little person or other...

i think pratchetts books in genral work for all age groups but some lean toward one age range or another i think that may apply in this case because you can still tell there pratchett but the deepth of the book differs

i think all three 'johnny' books were excellent and despite being kids books are perfectly written to be good for adults to.

Re: Non disc world titles

I liked both Strata and Dark side of the sun.

I remember reading diggers several years ago. Also Only you can save Mankind.

I've been given the carpet people & Johnny and the Dead to read recently (they're on my list!)

Re: Non disc world titles

I have tried to read just about everything that Pratchett has written. For me, even one of the not-quite-so-good Discworld novels is far better than any of the other offerings, though I really quite liked the Johnny books.
