Any ideas why AT is given a "special thanks" in the credits of the Special Edition of the Stargate movie DVD?

I don't know why, but if the original creaters of Stargate Movie didn't make Stargate. Then AT would not be playing the role of Carter. Just an idea, maybe lame idea though.
