Writing Thread - July 2003

OK - I'm gonna be gone for the weekend, but I expect to see lots of posts in this thread when I get back!

Please answer the following questions:

Did you write any this week? Month?

How many pages?

Did you finish any fics/stories?

How many?

Did you start any new ones?

(Subtract points if you started more than one)

Are you actively trying to reduce the number of WIPs in your collection?

Have you beta'd anything for another author?

Have you given an author feedback on anything?

Have you received any feedback on anything?

That should be enough to keep you busy for a day or so!

Catch ya'll when I get back!

Did you write any this week? Month?

--Yes and yes

How many pages?

--I'm not sure exactly. I'd guess maybe 5 or 6.

Did you finish any fics/stories?

-- I've finished a couple of challenge responses over on the Dead Zone bboard.

How many?

-- 2

Did you start any new ones?

-- A couple of Dead Zone fics.

Are you actively trying to reduce the number of WIPs in your collection?

-- I was, but then I got distracted by the Dead Zone fic ideas that I keep coming up with and never got back to any of them.

Have you beta'd anything for another author?

-- No

Have you given an author feedback on anything?

-- Yes. I have given feedback to the authors who have responded to the fic challenges over on the Dead Zone bboard and to some authors whose work I read on fanfiction.net.

Have you received any feedback on anything?

-- Yes. I have gotten feedback over on the Dead Zone bboard for my challenge responses. I also posted the responses on fanfiction.net as well as a couple of my Highlander stories and have gotten feedback there as well.

>Did you write any this week? Month?

Strangely enough, yes, quite a lot, actually.

>How many pages?

Two whole pages in the last five days. That *is* a lot for me. And it's slash! (Hmpf does slash! Will wonders never cease!)

>Did you finish any fics/stories?

Sort of.

>How many?

One. Actually, it was already finished, but I revised it, and now it's *really* finished, i.e. ready for publication.

>Did you start any new ones?

Yes.

>(Subtract points if you started more than one)

What? Is this a competition??? LOL

>Are you actively trying to reduce the number of WIPs in your collection?

Yes, but sometimes muses force me at gun/wandpoint to start a new one, like last week. I hope it will be done quickly, though, as I'm really eager to get back to my three (four) long-term WiPs.

>Have you beta'd anything for another author?

Ha. I don't even have time to write, really. Besides, I'm not a native speaker, so I don't beta.

>Have you given an author feedback on anything?

Not this week, but recently, yes.

>Have you received any feedback on anything?

Feedback? What's feedback?

Well... I posted two sentences of my new story in my LJ and got a positive reply from a friend on those two, and I got an 'I love your writing style' from another friend who has read part of what I started last Thursday, but other than comments from friends, no, no feedback. I don't get feedback, really. I used to get some when HL fandom was still more active, but since it's grown so quiet - nada. I think the last feedback that I didn't practically beg for and that didn't come from close friends was in March, for 'Epilogue'.

>Did you write any this week? Month?

Yes, I'm working on two co-written stories, both through email, so they're taking time. I've also actually added something to my original fic. Plus been working on two vignettes which have kinda been shoved aside.

>How many pages?

One of the co-written stories is up to 10 pages, so about half of that is mine *g*. A page or so of the original fic.

>Did you finish any fics/stories?

Finish a story...remind me what that is again! *g*

>How many?

ZERO!

>Did you start any new ones?

Yep...the ones I mentioned above.

>(Subtract points if you started more than one)

I must be well into negative numbers by now....

>Are you actively trying to reduce the number of WIPs in your collection?

It's a dream of mine...

>Have you beta'd anything for another author?

Not recently, but as one of my co-writers is a non-native speaker...I'm kind of betaing her contributions as we go.

>Have you given an author feedback on anything?

To be honest I haven't actually read much this month...been trying to focus on the writing...so recently no...

>Have you received any feedback on anything?

Yes...two snippets on my LJ got feedback, but from a close friend. Nothing recently from others...but I haven't put anything out.
