Farscape Fan Fiction What would we do without fan fiction? It\'s a way for those so inclined to add a little something of their own, answer a question that has been nagging at them that wasn\'t addressed in one of the episodes.

Fic: Winona

Disclaimer: I don't own Farscape, I'm not making a profit off of this, etc, etc.

Synopsis: A short fic in which John does a little musing about his trusty side arm.

Winona:

I'm not really sure how it happened. Maybe I watched too many westerns growing up. You know, gun slinger rides around with his trusty six shooter he's named after his mother. Or maybe, like everyone else says, I really have lost it. Either way, 'Winona' just seemed to fit.

When I first came onboard Moya I never carried a weapon. I'd let D'Argo and Aeryn get in the front lines when the shootin' started. But after a couple dozen mind frells and supply runs gone wrong even I've learned the importance of a good side arm.

It was Aeryn who finally talked me into finding a pulse pistol on one of our commerce planet stops. I think I walked by fifty other guns before picking up this baby. They all looked exactly the same for the most part, but Winona just had this whole different mojo about her.

We've been though a lot together in the last cycle or so. I don't know how many aliens have seen her muzzle in their face right before they got filled up with a few little bolts of light. I don't want to know either. I've done a lot of things I'd never imagined I'd be capable of since I found myself tossed out here in the middle of PK alley. Taking a life is one of many I wish I had never had to find out about. But when you've got Scorpy and half of the Uncharted Territories on your tail, sometimes you have to do things you don't want to.

I've only met a few people out here I can trust, D'Argo, Aeryn, and pretty much anyone on Moya. Winona's become one of those few. Maybe there'll come a day I can lay her down for good, retire her to a couple pegs above my fireplace. But until then I know she'll always be there by my side. Ready to cover my back no matter what situation I get thrown into. And when you live on this ship, bad situations are always waiting beyond that next corner.

Thumbs up Re: Fic: Winona

I like it short and to the point very much in Crichton's style.
