Voted "the best ever" LOL. Absolutely fantastic book, read at every chance I got in between cooking, washing, sorting kids out etc lol, finally finished it tonight and was like WOW poor Sirius. The edition I've got is 766 pages long. Great read!!!!!

I started reading it Saturday at 4:00pm, and finished Sunday about 8:00pm, but i could have read it quicker if not for pesky things like eating and sleeping!

I thought it was really good, but still second to "Goblet of Fire". It just seemed to drag on a bit before they actually got to the school. And there was hardly any quidditch, those are the best bits!

But it was really sad when Sirius died, i was nearly crying, he was my favourite character! I hope they find a way to find him back. I thought it was clever how about 5 different people seemed to be the one who was going to snuff it, it just made Sirius' death more surprising.

It was good to find out some more about James and Lily's past, hopefully there will be more of that in the later books. A lot of people were speculating that maybe Snape had a crush on Lily, which could or could not be true, i guess that might become clearer later on.

Overall, a great book, can't wait for the next one!

ok well i think the mob should disperse now and go forth and spread the word that harry potter is our new god

hehe

i was also a little ****ed off about how there was so little on quiditch in this book, i really missed it, another question did was it just me or did the whole thing with sirus going behind the curtian ever explained, like what did that signify, did he die, or just pass on to another plane of existence?:rolly2:

It was a disappointment that there wasn't much quidditch even tho Ron was the new keeper. Still a good book tho.

Well, with Umbridge gone for the 6th book, hArry'll be able to play quidditch in the next book, so hopefully, there should be a lot in the next one! YEY!:rolly2:

i like quidditch, it's cool

Have just finished - wow - absolutely excellent. There was just so much in this book - more was explored but again it just left us with more questions - why did Snape and Harry's father hate each other so much, what was behind the veil/archway where the whispering voices came from, when are Ron and Hermoine going to get together??? Loved the way we learnt more about Harry's parents as teenagers, the DA, the Order of the Phoenix. It was also good the way that the book treated all the characters like they were growing up. And poor Sirius - he wasn't one of my favourite characters before this book, but in this book, I really warmed to him. And also really unfair that he gets taken away from Harry - it's like losing his dad again. So glad it wasn't Ron tho' - I really feared for him at one point!

I loved it, it was excellent!!!!!!!!! Though the 4th one really caught me, I finished it in 2 days, and the 5th took me a week, because I didn't read too much everyday. Loved Harry's 1st kiss (I'm so proud for my little baby Harry). I thought maybe there was a bit too little Ron and too much Hermione. Can't wait for the 6th one, or the 3rd, 4th and 5th one's movies. We're really gonna miss Sirius.

Thumbs up

I voted it was pretty good, not as good as it could have been though. After dragging myself out of bed early (1pm to be exact... come on it was a saturday) to buy it the day it was released, it only took me a day to read the thick book. Well, it was either that or study.
I really liked the dark and more 'realistic' tone and writing style of the book but the plot wasn't very good.

It just wasn't all that prominent in the story. Most of it was taken up by sub-stories and bits of Harry's life at Hogwarts. The main part of the story just seemed to be stuck to the end of the story, all there was before it were little hints and bits and pieces, nothing much to go on.

This book was absolutely fantastic
I had never been into Harry Potter much but my mum satrted reading the books so I bought them and read bookks 3, 4, and 5 in 4 days.
I must say that they were some of the best hours I've ever spent reading a book
Does get rather dark though don't it!
