Bane was the guy that was turned into a smith.

now: he kills his crew (info via both revolutions and ETM) and disrupts Lock's plans. we next see him in a coma beside neo, in his coma.

now for the thinking part:
bane as smith can be related to neo having real-world powers (i.e. feeling the squiddies) neo has translated himself into the same person in both worlds. through bane, smith has done the same. does this mean that smith and neo have any kind of connection? i think of it as a family tree:

architect: father
trin: mother (debate it if you must)
neo: good son
smith/bane: evil son

does anyone else see it this way?

Trinity....hmm....somehow the thought of her being the Mother is just wrong....

as for Bane being Cain to Neo's Abel....well they are each other's Nemesis but I don't see it as good/evil brothers angle

Anyhow purpose showing Bane in end is coz he used his power in the "real world" too (to save himself from sentinels? since he is only survivor).

Spudnik, would appreciate it if u could post a complete breakdown of all the plot lines in ETM. I am too hopeless to complete game myself hehe

ETM = Enter The Matrix game. This game has nearly an hour of film footage shot exclusively for it byt the W Brothers. If only they will release a cut-scene only version of us fools unable to play the game fully ehhe

2. A cause of harm, ruin, or death
3. A deadly poison.

Middle English, destroyer, from Old English bana.

He will cause the destruction of something or someone -- The Matrix?, Neo? or maybe Morpheus?

Sure is. I got mine at Costco. Seems $50 is kind of a common retail price for it. There are probably places online that sell it for less.

Love the definitions, Dave. The Wachowski's did say the everyone's name has several meanings....
