I thought of a new topic to (hopefully) get people talking again!!!

How and why did people come up with their nicknames???

I wanted something to do with jack....i almost went with Jack in the box....then i thought of how jack is a bit nutters....and so came forth the nickname of JACKERS!!!! :rolly2:

How about everyone else?? (i know some explain themselves but still....add your bit)

Well, on here i'm Gatecon... But 99.9% of the rest of the time i'm AusGate.

It really doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out AUStralian starGATE.

That's from Padders when he first set up the convention section and the mod account... he simply used Gatecon so people would associate me with the convention section.

I never really have any other nickname except Shelbs. But there's a guy at work that calls me Shelbinator. :lol:

Shaz is my horse's name (made up and decided upon on the same day I registered here) and star, well, thats obvious.

It was that or flygirl, but flygirl was already taken.

I did an online search for ancient egyptian names whilst trying to decide what to call the main female character in my stargate fanfic ... It's actually a bit of a joke, and a long and complicated story... but basically, the fanfic is simply the retelling of an actual dream I had one night with me playing the female lead.. lol.. and when I saw that "Nekhen" meant 'babe' in Ancient Egyptian, I said "We have a winner!!!" (Yes, I'm being ironic, I would have to be the least babe-like young lady you could hope to meet!) Lol. I'm also known around the www as Meritskaara, which in Ancient Egyptian means "beloved of Skaara" - I'm a big Alexis Cruz fan.
