Heh - mine is an interesting story. Originally, my online name was Laelyan because, hey, I liked the spelling. However, no one knew how to spell it or pronounce it. It was actually quite embarrassing! While all of these trials and tribulations were going on, I was sitting up with a friend one night and we were trying to come up with stupid catch phrases. Like "If the world is your oyster, I think I'll be sick!" and "Give a gift: Kiss an Asgard!". This was where the idea of "Get In Touch With Your Inner Aardvark" came up, and I jumped on the bandwagon. I had joined AussieSJ over on Yahoo!Groups and once again people were going "Laylan" or "Laeyan" or something along those lines. I decided to use the opportunity to re-christen myself. That's where the Ceremonial Bowl of Blue Jello was first used. I decided to call myself Aardvark because it was wacky and wierd and that was pretty much who I was by that point. People then decided that Aardvark was too long a name, and shortened it to Aardie. So I have been Aardie ever since. Then in another group they call me Aard or AardBob. Alli once called me Aa. Pretty soon, my name is going to be just a mental projection without sound. Seriously - Aa? Lazy!!! But even in real life, a lot of people call me Aardie now. It's who I am - Aardie the Bizarre Flute Chick. I talk to people's moms on the phone and they ask "Is that you, Aardie?" It's cute! lol! But remember people - It's Aardie. With TWO A's. I know an Ardie with one A and she has no sense of humour whatsoever.... ![]()

Well I just use my own name on here (shows my imagination) but at Uni my nickname is Beano. I got it because a few people think that I look like Mr Bean and its stuck. It's also the nicest nickname I've ever had. ![]()

Wow - look at all these fantastic stories about name inspiration...pretty soon the celebrities (who are also scifi lovers) will be tributing our nicknames I am sure. Look out for it, we have Apple today, and tomorrow it could be Aardie (2 A's , Nekhen, Jackers....![]() I shall probably raise my eyebrows if I ever meet a Martouf, or a Raptor or a Gatecon....(but then I will also have very fond memories... )

Greetings from an old friend! Do any of you guys remember me? ![]() Well, my screen name, Squire, is the last name of one of my fave guitarists, John Squire, from the Stone Roses and The Seahorses. So yeah, thats my un-interesting story. I have loads of real life nicknames, such as Sixx (coz my idol is Nikki Sixx from Motley Crue, and apparently I look like him, woohoo!) , or Jes (seeing as my name is, erm, Jesekah lol) or Kwah (a friend at work thought this one up, dont ask me how or why!) LOL So yeah. Cheers all!
