Favorite Eddings Character?

Beldin - irrascible but loveable. Silk for his quick wit and mysterious background, and of course, the beautiful Polgara.

My vote is for Silk. And I'm about 100 pages from finishing the Elenium series .... it's been a very fun read.

I think my favourite would be Aphrael. She just makes me crack up. Closely followed by Kalten though. Who has trouble spelling a six letter word. *lol* I'll never forget that joke!

by far my favourite character has got to be polgara, just because she knows just what to say and what not to say to make belgarath angry

I think mine would have to be Emmy/Dweia. She has the perfect life, part of the time she can become a cat and just laze around doing nothing but eating and sleeping, then as her true self spends her time match making and getting Althalus to do just what she wants (even though he puts up a fight, she always gets him to do what she wants in the end).

Do not apologize. This is a valid question as I realized while thinking about how to answer it. Sparhawk is more or less his family name. Or it could be that all males in his line are named like that. I wish I could go look it up, but my books are a country away...

Somebody else around here who can look it up?

i have both series here, but am very lazy and i don't feel like re-reading them right now. give me a tip on which one to check and i'm game. but mostly they just call him sparhawk.

Sparhawk would have to be right up there for me especially in the Tumali. Some of the arguements/comments he has trying to raise a daughter who is also a god, but not his god were classic. I last read them years ago but when he has the discussion about a pet whale and later something like ' i wont win many but i'll win that one' i was in stitches (sorry if someone hasnt read them yet!).

Mine would be Sparhawk's squires ! Both Father and son.
I just had to crack a smile everytime one of them orders Sparhawk around like they were the ones in charge.

Also the little comments** to other characters about Sparhawk that lets you know what they really think : Without them he'd be hopeless .
With them around he would never get a bloated ego. You definetly get the feeling they could kick his "posterior" !

**Comments like : Never let Sparhawk do "Real" work, thats what my father always said. Kalten might make a living as carpenter, but give Sparhawk a tool and he might hurt himself with it.

Mine has to be Belgarath I mean come on storyteller, vagabond and not to mention you don't want to get on his bad side. But beside's all that everything he went through and he just kept going.

Flip a coin, either Belgarath or Silk. Belgarath for the same reasons beldin mentioned. He would definitely be the one to go to dinner with for the stoytelling and generally amiable personality. Silk for his oh-so-dry wit and flexible morality.

It's hard to say, Eddings has so many great characters...

I would have to say either Belgarath or Silk, though where would the Belgariad be without Polgara and Ce'Nedra? My favourite king would have to be Zakath, simply because of the depth of his character. And let's not forget people like Hettar, and Poledra, and Anheg, and ... ( I could go on with this forever!)

I like Zakath Sparhawk, Polgara and Mandorallan have a special place though ^^
