Do we have a specific place for discussion about what may be happening after season 7 in terms of all these new slayers popping up etc, or should I go into it here??

Uh - not specifically - b/c there really hasn't been any 'official' word on what's going on next -- you could drop a new thread in (sticky it, so we can find it) and discuss? Label the first post as 'S7 spoilers will be found in this thread - read at your own risk' --- kind of thing -- and discuss there --- or - it can go in here --- up to you man ---- ![]()

[markpud: Do we have a specific place for discussion about what may be happening after season 7...] Well, we kinda, sorta do. We have under General Discussions - New Buffy Spin-Off under consideration Poll:If there were another spin-off... And one early thread that has the embarrassing title (a thread I started BTW) Joss gives out Season 8 spoilers!! So these could be continued or you can pick a specific slant that you want to put on it and start a new one. Good to see you again, Markpud.

uhhh, I'll carry on here... A lot of this has prob been covered, but regarding the episode itself, why didn't they "slayerise" all the potentials before opening the seal? Nah, lets just go down there and hope the spell goes OK... duh!! I am concerned about the effect of the spell globally, with the limited resources of Buffy and co, how can they possibly catch up with all the new slayers and instruct them?? It seems to me that they'll create a lot more rogue slayers who could cause a lot more problems in the world, ie teaming up with demons etc, or just killing anyone who gets in their way.....

There is that possibility - But - who's to say that the effects of the spell are permanent? It was never said that it would be - never said that it wasn't either - Joss' playground - he can change the rules at any time -- Actually - that would make an interesting plot point either on Angel or for a spin-off -- all these potentials-now-slayers get recruited for another big fight, but when the big fight comes, the spell's gone... why? *shrug* any number of reasons - counter spell; slayer-ness wasn't meant to be spread across that many ppl all at once - 2 was okay, but 70 or 100? Slayer power spread too thin and it dissipates - even Buffy and Faith start losing their powers --- could be interesting --- ^speculations and ideas -- fun too!

That would be interesting... they could even take this up on Angel, with a new slayer or a few of them causing havoc in the big city, and Angel & co reversing the spell.....

Oooh - that could be interesting --- I just wish they'd been able to do the Faith spin-off... that would have been cool - (orig idea, I'd heard, was supposed to be a Faith and Spike show -- but ED is on that "Tru Calling" thing now - dunno how that is - think it starts tomorrow - might check it out) - However -- there is now a big push to get Morgan Gendel to consider James Marsters to be Harry Dresden since the Dresden Files are being considered for TV or screen -- http://www.marsters-mobsters.com/jamesisharry.html I'm still reserving judgement on what I'd like to see next from Joss until I see the first few eps of Angel -- which starts TONIGHT!! for all those in the US! ![]()

Well, to divert off-topic for a moment on the subject of Joss - The biggest thing with him seems to be "Firefly". The DVD with the three unbroadcast episodes is due for release in December. I heard that Amazon.com sold out of their pre-release orders in 24 hours. I have also seen copies of the three "lost" episodes floating around the Internet, but of course we don't recommend copyright violation here. (I saw Mal's butt, I saw Mal's butt - nyah, nyah.) There are also reports that Joss is developing "Firefly" for a feature film that could begin filming early next year. It would be Joss' chance to direct his first theatrical film. Personally, I prefer Firefly to Angel. And welcome back to MARKPUD! (Dr. Markpud????) hopefully on a more permanent basis.

[Originally posted by Highlander II: I could never get into Firefly -- tried to watch one ep and was bored out of my skull -] Okay, I know I'm responsible for keeping things on-topic, but I gotta take this bait. If you only saw one episode then you are cheating yourself. I didn't fall in love with Buffy until the finale of Season Two. Up until then I only watched it occassionally and then I didn't really give it my full attention. And - dare I say it - not every episode of the early Buffy's were standout awesome. Many were variations of old scary story plots. Firefly didn't grab me until the fourth or fifth epsiode. In fact, the first one - "The Train Job" - was rather standard fare. Remember Joss had to remix his stuff because he wasn't allowed to show his pilot episode first. I would say that 3/4 of the episodes are really great Joss stuff while the rest are so-so. And dont' forget that Joss' shows depends a lot on getting used to the characters, their interactions and, in this show, their mysterious pasts. I would strongly recommend giving yourself a chance to see all of it before you make a judgment - certainly more than one. [Originally posted by Highlander II: Is Mark gonna stick around? Or did he just show up b/c I prodded him again?] I took his declaration in another forum, "I'm back!" to mean really back and not just visiting, but I could have read too much into it. Maybe it was just wishful thinking.

1st - just as a warning - I'm having a really bad day - so if this skews way off into 'not nice H2 mode' - feel free to edit like a mad-mod (I'm hopin' it doesn't do that - but it's been a *really* bad day) -- Firefly -- don't think I'm gonna try it again - no offense to Joss, but I really couldn't see any potential in what I was watching of it - don't know why - just didn't like the basic idea, didn't like the characters, didn't much like the recycled old Angel set --- it just didn't appeal to me - so - nah - I'll stick w/ BtVS and AtS -- I wasn't baiting - I was just so bored there was no way I was gonna watch another ep - stuff really has to engage me if you want me to keep watching. BtVS and AtS both did that --- even in the mediocre eps - I was still 'enjoying' the show... didn't get that feel from Firefly - doesn't mean it wasn't there for someone - just not for me. I had the same problem with X-Files - never could seem to catch a 'good' episode of that - always caught the really corny / cheesey / bad ones -- so, never got into that either... Not only that - but I just ain't pickin' up no more tv shows to watch for a while -- the 4 I'm keepin' up with now are more than enough --- not to mention, most of the new stuff on the air, really doesn't appeal to me -- blah -- heck, I haven't even watched JAG yet this season! I missed the season premieres for 1/2 the stuff I wanted to see this season! (didn't miss Angel tho! )ok - going now -- other sections to visit ---
