Hey, lone wolf, I have moved your thread to the Season Seven discussion area, since it seems clear that you meant to discuss the current season. Everyone is put on notice that this thread may contain spoilers, so read at your own risk.

I agree that the storyline has gotten darker, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. The show started off with more humour and fun, but all of the characters have grown up since then, so it makes sense that they have to deal with grown-up issues in their lives. As for this season, i think its kinda fitting that Buffy's final battle is against the ultimate, original Big Bad. ![]()

Personally - I thought S6 was much darker than S7 -- This season - not nearly so dark - it's getting that way now - toward the end - but, didn't most of the seasons 'darken' before the end of the season? Buffy doesn't really seem a show to end on a huge, big bright happy note -- I mean - they'll probably win the battle, but I'm thinking lots of casualties (not necessarily dead) and plenty of destruction - but maybe some happiness at the very end - but keep in mind, it'll be the end of a series too - and since Joss actually has some control over ending the show (ie: it wasn't cancelled) - it's gonna do some heart-string tugging, just by nature of being the end of a show that's been running for 7 years. Just one of those things that makes it hard to tell if it's dark by story or dark by being the end of the show --- (or I'm just rambling and have no idea what I just said )

Season 6 was definately darker than season 7 when you think about it - stealing, rape, drugs (well, magic, but ya know what i mean). I don't think there've really been any serious issues brought up this season.

I think this season's been funnier than last year, there's been loads of episodes which have just basically been about humour rather than a searching storyline. Plus last season, just about everyone was in the depths of despair, Buffy brought back from heaven, Willow addicted to magic and loses Tara, Xander and Anya's relationship split up, Spike totally infatuated with Buffy - this season, okay, it's going to be the greatest battle ever for Buffy, but everyone's a team and the atmosphere's quite lighthearted really. ![]()
