UK Channel to get ALL Firefly episodes?

Well, that't the rumour coming off Fireflyfans.net

http://www.fireflyfans.net/news.asp?newsid=378

Way back in October I had emailed Scifi and asked them if they were going to pick the show up, and while the reply was basically "No plans at this time", the person who emailed me mentioned that they had seen a few episodes and were very impressed.

I emailed Scifi and asked if this rumour was true, and got a non-committal reply. I am not disheartened, it might still be happening - after all they did pick up The Lone Gunman after it was cancelled, perhaps they get a better rate for dead shows.

Anyhoo my main motivation for wanting Scifi to go with this is that it would really be very very very nice to see the three unaired eps.

If you have a minute or two to spare, please go to http://www.uk.scifi.com/main.asp
And enquire further/congratulate them on their good taste. Perhaps the more interest they get from the fans, the more liekly they will be to pick the show up.

Quick update.

Haken over at Fireflyfans is reporting that he has confirmation from an inside source that th UK scifi channel does indeed have the rights to air Firefly in the UK and will be showing them in May.

Shiny!

(ps Haken is usually on the ball with these rumours, so I think this is probably true)

Ok, so I don't usually reply to my own messages twice, but I got confirmation from SciFi that they will be showing Firefly in May! Yippee!

My next task is to find out the air order.

Dear Tabitha,

I can now confirm that Sci-Fi will be showing "Firefly", and that the show will appear in our May schedule. I can also confirm that we shall be airing the 3 previously unaired episodes that did not air in the States. This will make the number of episodes in the series 15.

I think you'll agree that this is certainly an exciting time for the channel.

Kind Regards

Update:

Firefly begins airing on SciFi UK at 8pm on Monday, May 12.
Repeats will air at 11.50pm that same evening, and then again on Friday 16 May at 8pm. Knowing the channel there will probably be repeats too.

By my calculations, as long as the series runs uninterupted, we should be seeing as yet unaired (in the US) eps by the end of July. I wonder if Fox will air them in the US before then?

If not, well, lets talk about that closer to the time.

Was wondering if I could find out when Firefly starts. From the adverts it looks pretty good. One question whose baby is it? Hubby and I are having a 'tiff' as to who wrote it? Is it Joss Whedon or Chris Carter??????

They've already started having ads? Haven't noticed yet myself, must look out for them.

Firefly begins on Monday 12 May, at 8.00pm, and I think there is a repeat at 11.50 that evening. It is repeated again on Friday evenings.

if you go to Scifi's website you can find out the schedule up until the end of May:

www.scifiuk.com

(you have to enter the 'enhanced site' to get access to the schedule I think.)

ps - it's definitely JOSS WHEDON!
