| Connor in Season Four I am currently rewatching Season three, as well as keeping an eye on the airings of Season four on UK telly, and I think Connor's character is actually pretty interesting. Out of everyone his has undergone a lot of change in a very short time, and I am not sure whether the continuity is very good or not. At the end of season three he was this bitter dark avenger, but all of a sudden he has become this annoying whining teenager ( a la Dawn in Buffy S6). The whinyness really doesn't suit him, but I have a feeling he is going to be reformed pretty soon. I honestly think the writers are going out of their way to make him quite annoying, only to reintroduce him as a all-round nice guy hero-type later in the season. At least, I really hope this is what's going to happen, because I don't think I could deal with his angry teenager rants for much longer. in fact, here is some total speculation: I think pretty soon Connor might end up as (almost) the main character in this show, all of those Niazian (sp?) prophecies concerning him sounded like he was going to be pretty important player in future. I know Sahjahn manipulated them, but I think he only made small changes to suit his purposes, not making them up altogether. Remember the season one prophecy about Angel becoming human (shanshu?), I wonder is that still percolating in the back of Joss's head? Anyone got any thoughts on this? |
