2.23: Exodus

The spaceship announces it is programmed with the memories of Clark's Kryptonian father Jor-El and tells him to return at sunset to leave his family and friends and fulfill his destiny. Come sunset, the ship blasts Clark and imprints the "mark of his ancestors" on his chest. Lionel has a duplicate of the key manufactured from the pattern on Walden's palm and refined kryptonite and plans to insert it into the hole in the cave. Clark believes he can use it to destroy the ship and Pete provides a diversion so he can steal it. Clark misses the wedding to go to the ship and destroy it, the Kents are caught in the blast and go off the road, injuring Martha and causing her to lose the baby. When an angry Jonathan rejects him, Clark believes he is better off on his own so he can't hurt anyone else, dons a red kryptonite ring, and leaves over Lana's protests.

Meanwhile Lex reveals to Helen he stole Clark's blood sample, she leaves and then returns, admitting she's made mistakes and the two get married. But en route to the honeymoon Lex wakes up to find the plane empty and going down to crash in the ocean. And Clark and Lana prepare to break the news of their relationship to Chloe unaware she already knows - she doesn't take it well and accepts Lionel's offer.

Good ep. Finally takes Clark somewhere other than highschool in Smallville. Wonder if he's coming back???

The only thing that really disturbed me was that he destroyed his ship. It was the only thing that kept Clark safe from Kryptonite. In destroying the ship, did he destroy any other super technology things that could have helped him?

We all know that Clark does not end up with Lana. We all know that Clark does not stay in Smallville.

Also, my wife said right as we see Lex in the doomed plane... "is she evil?" then my wife said that ms. lex, when asked if everything was alright by Lex, responded by saying "it is now." Is Ms. Lex in league with Lionel?

EDIT: The coolest part of the ep was all the parallels between Lex and Clark. Lex's daddy is trying to control his destiny... Clark's daddy (biological) is trying to control his also. They are both running from their daddy's designs for them.

Was the "heart of the ship" still in the ship when it... ya know?

When you look at the "heart of the ship" it is two or three crystals joined by some metal band. If they were to follow the movies, then a crystal (or plural) is what he uses to create his Fortress of Solitude. Of course, they don't need to follow the movies, only the comics.

Also, is it possible that the voice of his father, Jor-El... was somehow tampred with? What I'm wondering, was the ship that Cal-El placed in right before Krypton blew up, a ship that was specifically designed for Clark, or was it designed for something else and quickly retrofit for Clark? I'm just wondering if General Zod could have something to do with the way that the ship is trying to control Clark. I just find it hard to see how the writers can make Cal-El's parents so "evil", especially when all other accounts I've seen/read make them out to be so "loving". There's got to be some twist here.

What do you think?

Oh ya. Definately! And the writers are talking about:

Intoducing Lois Lane when Clark goes to college - and they don't get along at all; and possibly introducing a young Bruce Wayne

I'm sure there are other spoilers out there. These are all I know at present.

I have a totally non related question. Please don't let this take this off topic... but, was the Green Lantern part of the Superman Universe?

That's the part I'm confused about. They DID say that at the point when Clark would go to Metropolis (to live there I guess), then the series would end. They also speculate that there are about 3 more seasons left for a total of 5 seasons. So, If Clark et al end up in college, it might not be in Metropolis. But, I can't imagine a college in Smallville. I'm confused.

The writers probably used Gen. Zods voice because he was associated with the movie and they could not AFFORD Marlon Brando to do the voice, he recieved 4,000,000 for the small part he played in the movie, much more than Reeves.
If you remember the movie, Zod and his hinchmen were expelled from Krypton before the planet exploded and no one had any idea the planet would except Jor-El.
As far as the destiny Jor-El gave Clark it could totaly mean that he is not to rule but to protect. I can't see the writers making Jor-El evil.

As for your spoiler about a young...no way he did not come into play until he was an adult and there was no BATBOY

If they do I will be so mad!!!!

There is going to be a lot of rumor and speculation until the new season and I give it only 2 more to go, you can only write him as a teen for so long! So are the writers going to follow the movie or the comics?

check this site for some great speculation: http://www.kryptonsite.com/

I have to say I was most disappointed with this episode. At the end I thought "Was that it????" Maybe I expected more. Who knows eh?

That's exactly what i thought! I was expecting something really dramatic and cliffhanger-y, but its just Clark riding off to Metropolis. There wasn't even a new super-power or anything.

Lex's ending was more dramatic. So what do people think that was about? I have 2 theories:
1) Helen coming back to Lex after everything he did seems a bit suspicious. So maybe it was a scam - she marries him, parachutes out of the plane, Lex dies 'accidently', and Helen gets all his money.
2) Lionel wanted Lex out of the way, so he paid the pilot to abandon the plane. But he didn't have anything against Helen, so he told the pilot to get her out as well.
But that seems a bit extreme for Lionel, so i'm going with my first theory.

I'm disappointed in Chloe - just because she and Clark had an argument, she betrays her best friend! Though it could be an interesting development fo next season, i suppose.

Overall, i was diappointed in this episode. I was definately expecting more for the season finale.
