San Diego's con is the Comic Con International. It's just about the biggest multi-media convention in the world. Last year we had guests like Marina Sirtis (from ST:TNG), A-nold (you know, the Terminator) , big time directors Jim Cameron, Bryan Singer, and Ang Lee, a few hobbits (Elijah Wood, Billy Boyd and Dominic Monaghan), Lucy Lieu and Ray Park, Emma Caulfield, Jason Lee, and Ben Affleck. :naughty:

This year the con will be held in July (17th-20th) and there will be TONS of Scapers there, too. More and more are signing up (now that Ben announced he'd be there) so we're going to have some WiLd FuN! :reyes:

Talking Now I don't want to get off on a rant here but...

I thought I'd put this thread back on track with this little bit of info. Something I came across today and I had to share. Nothing major here, probably not worth mentioning but here it is anyway.

Just announced. Returning to Burbank for the November Convention. The one. The only.

GIGI EDGLEY!!!

*thud...!!!*

I just knew that would make you happy, MS.

Make sure you bring your camera again. (As if I had to say.) If you're sitting with me again, we'll be even closer to the stage than we were last year.

Ahhhhhhh. Closer to BEEEENNNNNNNN!

Yeah, that pretty much made my day. (duh!) And I'll be packin' a camera (with fresh batteries in the flash this time) and I'll be ready to get plenty of pics. And who knows, maybe I'll be lucky enough to get a hug again. We can dream can't we...

I just saw the most amazing thing on Creation's site. Yeah, I know. I was shocked too. But this is truly amazing. At this year's con in Burbank (hence the posting of this info in the Burbank con thread) they are allowing folks to buy a photo op with one of the guests!

That's right, for a few bucks you can get up close and personal with your favorite Farscape star! Details are on the Creation con page, but basically it comes down to this. For just $40 you can get your picture taken (by a professional I assume) with one of the stars (Ben costs $50).

Now I saw this a few weeks ago but no one listed really caught my attention. Then as I was checking to see if anyone new was listed as guests I saw what made my day. GIGI! (duh!)

So quicker than I could grab my wallet I signed up for my very own photo op with the lovely and talented Mrs. Mysterious Stranger aka Gigi Edgely! I CAN'T WAIT!

So, PkGrl? Got yours yet? Do ya, do ya, do ya?!

Naw. I'll settle for taking pictures OF the stars instead of posing with them. I can't stand pictures of myself anyway. I'm perfectly happy being close to Ben and this year I get to be near him three times! At the Saturns, the comic con, AND Burbank. So I'm pretty frelling happy already.

If it weren't Gigi, I wouldn't even entertain the idea. But since it is then of course I'm all over it.

WOO-HOO!

I can understand the enthusiasm there. I have a photo of Gigi and me hugging, and a most pleasant experience it was too

(I had a *very* wide grin on my face too, moreso because she prompted the hug)

BOBW has had the photo option for some time now with their events in Australia. They are a very good idea, especially if your seat is up the back - its a chance to get ONE good photo at least, and one with you in it to boot...

I got a hug from Gigi last year in Burbank, up on stage and everything. Nearly passed out from the lack of my breathing the whole time. VERY pleasant experience.

Combine the photo op, the chance to see Ben et. al., and getting to see all my Scaper buds, Burbank is definitely worth it.
