4.13: Salvage

info from tvtome.com

The gang discover Angelus feeding on Lilah. After Angelus escapes Wesley says he will take care of the body, while Connor vows to kill his father. Lilah's spirit haunts Wesley until he decapitates her fully, keeping his anger well hidden. He then pays Faith a visit and tells her about everything, she smashes her security glass and escapes with Wesley. Angelus and the Beast hear about Faith's arrival and lure her and Wesley to a place where they can meet. Some vampires keep Wesley busy, while Angelus and The Beast take on Faith. Just as The Beast is about to kill Faith, Angelus stabs him and sunlight returns to Los Angeles.

It is secretly revealed that Cordelia was controlling The Beast, she allowed him to kill the last remaining totem, and she stole Angelus' soul. As the sun sets, Cordelia confronts Connor and tells him that she is carrying his child.

Okay - ya know - I'm really not sure where the person who does those ep descrips at tvtome gets their info, but I'm thinking they don't watch the episodes very closely --

Anyway - Angelus wasn't doing much in the way of feeding - he was drinking, but anyone w/ half a brain would have noticed that Angelus didn't kill Lilah, and that it would have been very hard for her to have been turned, given that she didn't drink from Angelus, and he didn't take near enough for it to have been possible anyway (Though, I was thinking he might turn her - that would have been interesting).

Again - poor Wes - Love's Bitch just as much as Spike. Not that he necessarily loved Lilah - but he tells her spirit that she never loved him. So, this spirit - I'm wondering if it's actually Lilah's spirit, or if it's a manifestation of the "Big Bad" --

Wes and Faith jump out the window and land on a car - ouch -

Faith: You okay?
Wes: Five by five.

And he's got a sense of humor - not to mention he's a realist - he KNEW there was no chance of beating this Beast or snagging Angelus w/o Faith, and even though she tortured the hell out of him, he went to see her.

Angelus had a GREAT line! -- Just after he kills the Beast -

"Oh, so killing the Beast actually does bring back the sun. I thought that was just Angel's retarded fantasy."

LOL!! Loved that! Angelus gets some of the best lines!

Cordy and the Beast? Urgh - ugh - eek - and gross. What was that?

And does she run off to play with the Beast (well, until Angelus killed it) every time she 'goes to her room'? B/c every time we turned around she was 'up in her room' or something. And the Angel Inc ppl are STUPID - they didn't notice that Cordy wasn't limping anymore? Or is she putting the whammy on them like Glory did - so they don't notice that stuff unless she wants them too?

All-in-all - not a bad episode, but I think they were trying to tie up too many loose ends at one time just so they could move on to the "Fairth story" - and the way Angelus killed the Beast - a weapon forged of the Beast? - kinda lame. But, not a bad episode.

Oh god! I was so hoping Lilah would be like Buffy coming back....*sulks* I loved Lilah/Wesley. They were do cute! And Man Connor is one heartless bastard! "How long does it take to cut off Lilah's head?"

I loved Faith in this ep. And funny thing. I never liked her before. She always seemed pointless to me. Just a annoying Slayer who whined cuz Buffy's friends like Buffy better then her. Now I love her. I loved the way she put Connor in his place.

I was laughing out loud when Angelus called Sunnydale. And how much do you want to bet that it's NEVER going to be talked about on Buffy? I'll die of a heart attack if Dawn or anyone says anything about Angel calling. Or for that matter. "Hey did ya see the sun's back in LA?"

Yeah - ya know, considering Buffy went to see Angel after she was brought back - did anyone think to tell Riley that Buffy had died and come back? Sure, they didn't know where he was, but I didn't see Willow hopping off to find Riley to tell him that Buffy died, like she went to LA to tell Angel.

However, since it's REALLY hard to tell which episodes are supposed to take place along the same part of the timeline - b/c they air in such haphazzard order (some Buffy here, some Angel there) - it's hard to tell, so, the phone call Angelus made, could have happened 4 episodes ago on Buffy for all we know -

Faith - I kinda liked her, kinda didn't when she first showed on Buffy (Now, granted, I think I saw the S4 stuff before I saw S3, but I can't recall, but Faith wasn't my fave character) -- I like her better now - more b/c she smacked Connor around than anything else. And she was okay on Angel - better than on Buffy - probably mostly b/c Angel was gonna give her a chance, and Buffy was ready to beat her down. Btw - in that ep - whatever it is, the one where Buffy shows and gives Angel the run-down on stuff - "Sanctuary" I think - that ep made me really NOT like Buffy - she ran to LA and was gonna tell Angel how it was supposed to be? Um, not. Just started to not like her after that ep ---

Anyway -- still love Angelus' line about killing the beast bringing back the sun - 'Thought that was Angel's retarded fantasy.' - lol!!

[Highlander II: did anyone think to tell Riley that Buffy had died and come back?]

How quick we forget -

Buffy #6.15 "As You Were"
------------------------------
RILEY: Got some, uh ... big stories to tell you too. If we ever get half a second.

BUFFY: Did you die?

RILEY: No.

BUFFY: I'm gonna win.

------------

The only thing Lilah did wrong was to be an interesting character - that's the kiss of death on Angel.

Wesley, Cordy, Gunn, Fred, Conner - BOOOOOOORRRINNNG!!!

Lorne - Funny, watch out he could be next to die.

Lindsey, Darla, Lilah, Doyle - Interesting, so they must die.

----------

Now Angelus and Faith are a couple of the best characters that Joss has ever created. I'm really looking forward to seeing what happens between them. I'm enjoying them, but I know that they only have a limited run.

It's a shame that they had to bring back Angel and Faith just to get some of that old snappy, funny, insightful dialogue back again.

----------

BTW, this is not spoiler, this is a deduction -

Cordy = not Dark Cordy, but fake Cordy.

Remember when she "returned" with amnesia? - Old trick of imposters to cover up what they don't know, but should know.

I'll bet that Cordy ends up doing something to help save everyone, but right now she's still a Cosmic BigWig somewhere.

Sorry, if someone has already suggested that, but I don't read the threads for every episode anymore, since I mostly don't enjoy the show anymore.

----------

Joss says that he's taking Angel in a new direction next season. I sure as hell hope so, because I'm tired of waiting to be entertained. If something doesn't change soon, I'm giving up on this series. I already watch "West Wing" and record Angel for watching whenever I don't have anything else better to do.

Man, that was 15 episodes in - didn't forget, I knew she told him that - but they told Angel waaaaaaaaay earlier - like ep 4. That was my point - they didn't 'look' for Riley, or even try to find him - as far as we know, anyway - why not? Buffy loved him too (or, said she did)

gotta run - comment on the rest a little later ---

Faith is back - I was more surprised that it was a surprise - i.e. that I hadn't been spoilered in any way for it! Guess the Angelus spoilers kept this one quiet - nice move Joss

So Cordy is the beast's master - how the heck did she convince it to follow her? She must be having some powers we ain't seen yet...

When she appeared to chat with the beast just after Angelus left - not very discreet when a vamp with super-hearing has just left the building...

Faith vs the beast was a very matrixy fight scene.. but Angelus destroying it?? Doesn't make sense for me.. Sure, he's not one to share the limelight, but the beast was powerful, pretty much unstoppable except with the weapon it conveniently created from itself to give to Cordy (why?????)

As everyone's said, Angelus gets the best lines, always has, always will - Oh, so killing the Beast actually does bring back the sun. I thought that was just Angel's retarded fantasy

That goes some way to explaining, I guess he wanted to play in the night-time by himself...

Have to admit I almost thought it was Angel pretending to be Angelus to get close to the beast - but no...

Also about time they "revealed" that Cordy's preggers, it was getting *so* obvious... but it's gonna be one heck of a manipulation of Conner, for whatever purpose Cordy's serving...

OK the end bit with Cordy telling Connor about being pregnant - the way she was with him - its really weirding me out now !!!

Plus the whole, give momma some sugar scene with the beast - what is that all about - too ickky

there has to be an explanation for Cordy and I am going with the one mentioned earlier, thats its not really her - or at least she has some kind of split personality going on where good Cordy doesn't remember what weird Cordy has done

Love that Faith is back and am looking forward to next weeks ep to see what she gets up to next

Kewl episode.

Loved the escape scene with Faith and Wes. I did wonder how she was going to get out.

Same for me in thinking Cordy and The Beast kissing. Ewwwwwww!!!!!!! I hadn't actually thought about Cordy maybe not being 'Cordy'. It could explain some of her strange behaviour. Who knows eh!!!!!!

Gosh it's all been said. i should really come here sooner after the episodes

But still it was really interesting - literally had me on the edge of my seat, i just couldn't wait to see what happened next. Liked Faith's escape. It was nice to know that she could have escaped, really easily, whenever she wanted to but never did (she's reformed!!) until it was needed for the greater good. And the "five by five" thing - totally laugh out loud! Still makes me smile just thinking about it.

I was sad to see they actually did kill Lilah - i'm sure she couldn't have lost that much blood. I hope OB theory of killing off interesting people is not right - don't want Lorne to be next!!! Still Wes trying to deal with it was interesting. I don't think it could have been the "Big Bad" - A Buffy cross over? Hmmmm don't see that happening

And does Gunn seem to have cooled down with Wes - he was even ready to follow his 'orders', when did that happen? And where does Fred come in all this?

Cordy - icky, icky, icky. It couldn't possibly be her. I hope it's not the split personality thing - been done waaay too many times.
