I think the bad guys pick on Jack because of his big mouth. He just can't shut up or be tactful; he's just got to say something, usually not particularly PC. And if we really have to talk reality instead of a scifi show, Hammond has let O'Neill get out of line, and stay out of line, for so long, O'Neill has pretty much lost his ability to know when to be quiet.

And I don't see Teal'c as a sergeant; I see the aliens as smart. If you decide to fight, do you pick a fight with O'Neill or with Teal'c? :ticking:

And ...

And I've noticed a distinct lack of non-commissioned officers. After all, someone's got to be around to figure out all those wonderfully wacky ideas the officers come up with and find a way to really get them done.

You would think there would be some noncoms somewhere, even at Cheyenne Mountain.
