I’m getting ready to draft a formal letter to the WB about “Angel” and about how we don’t want it cancelled. From everything I’ve read, the decision comes in May....
I’m sure that we are all agreed that we don’t want it to end, and although this may not help our cause, I’d rather be able to say “I tried” when it’s all said and done- wouldn’t you?
To that ends, I am asking for all of your help. I am writing the letter about MY feelings for the show, but what I would like to do is include a petition of sorts that tells them how you all feel. What I need for you to do if you want to participate, is to email me with following:
NAME and COUNTRY/STATE: You can put your real name, screen name anything. You can put your first initial and last name, or first name and last initial.... I don’t care. Whatever makes you more comfortable. PLEASE do not email me your actual address, and above all do not post it in this thread. Doing that is dangerous and I don’t need that info from you for this.
EMAIL: This is the important part (and scariest for some) Whatever your name, I do need a VALID email address for you. I am not asking for your physical address for obvious reasons and I don’t want that... but for this petition to be valid, they have to have something that if they want to verify you on it, they can. A valid email address is the only thing I can thing of to use to do that. I swear, I have no need what so ever for your address, except for this purpose.
WHY?: In as SHORT a way as possible, tell the WB why “Angel” deserves to be on the air. I know that it may be hard to do, but try not to write a huge long reason. This is a petition and I’m HOPING that many people will respond and that I just won’t have room for a long explanation for everyone. Respect space and just tell them what you think, they will not take the time to read long drawn out explanations anyway. And PLEASE, no profanity or “threats”. If you intend to boycott WB if they cancel Angel, by all means say so... but not “personal” threats or vulgarity. The word is “professionalism”.... no one will take us seriously unless we all behave like adults. DO NOT give my your responses for the petition thru this thread. I don’t want to take up COA’s space and it is easier to add your part to the document I have prepared thru email.
You emailed “signature” for the petition should look like this example:
J.Smith, Wala Wala, WA.
jsmith@imadethisup.com
“I think that Angel should stay on the air because it has intelligent writing and is much better than 99 % of the shows out there now.”
Once your signature looks like this, please email it to ckinz@theriver.com It and any others will be included in my letter to the WB. I would like to send it out by the first of March.... so if you want to participate please get your email to me by then.

Thanks people!The Petition is going great,for now there are a combined 1080 signatures on both petitions.
They have been signed by people in 41 US states and by people in 28 countries!!

Ok - to be honest - I couldn't read your first post - it's all smushed together and made my head hurt.

Second, are there any rumors that the WB plans to cancel Angel? I haven't heard anything, but I haven't really been paying attention.

Not only that, but I don't think Joss would have a problem finding a new home for Angel if the WB *did* cancel it.

I just want some info - b/c petitions are all fine and dandy, but not really much good if they don't have a purpose. True, this one does, but if the WB isn't planning to cancel the show, they why do it?

Well it hasn't definitely been picked up for a 5th season, and with the news that David Boreanaz might be going on to pastures new (with the Superman films

) then i think noise should be made about how we want to keep Angel

that's what i thought the petition was about anyway...going to sign now
