In a Sci Fi Wire article, actress Amanda Tapping talks about possible romance for Carter in the up and coming 7th season.

No real spoilers, but she does kinda squash the hopes of those J+S shippers.

I am a fence-Siter right now on the Jack and Sam issue. However I do hope they use the freedom of Season 7 being the supposed final to wrap up these Romance ends.

I agree with the fishing thing, that's how I'd love the series to end

But I keep thinking, what if they end up doing a movie? I mean, they probably won't, and I know it's quite unlikely, but if, for some reason, they DO end up deciding to make one, they won't be able to really do much with the Sam/Jack thing in S7. Because if some kind of conclusion or...I don't know, if something is done to really push in that direction, it may upset the balance of the team, which would flow into the (fingers crossed, fingers crossed, fingers crossed) movie. And in general, the team balance would be upset. But I'm an S/J shipper, so...hmm.

"I think they're addressing that this year, Because I joked with the writers, I said, "I'm the black widow of the show." First of all, "Every guy who comes on the show does not have to fall in love with Sam Carter." And secondly, "If they do, could they please not die?"

I wonder how they'll handle it. Just one episode or maybe something small that is apparent in a few episodes.
I don't think romance should be the center of attention in Stargate so I like the idea of being something happening on the side and not actually a major story plot.

Perfect. 30 seconds worth. Not in the way of the main story lines, not so mushy that the gung ho group demands Sam resign; they just go fishing . . . perhaps with a final quote from Teal'c to Daniel about how big the bugs are at the lake or how O'Neill never catches anything. :laugh:
