I really hope that the "real world" is not another level of the matrix. It would be so unsatisfying and hacknied. Remember that old doctor show "St. Elsewhere"? It was on for like 5 years and in the last episode we find out that the entire series was just the daydreamings of an autistic boy who spend his waking hours starring into a snow globe. Or that prime time soap (was it "Dallas"?) were one whole season was just a dream of one of the characters.

then agian, that perticular thing Neo does at the end of "Reloaded" makes me wonder....

Don't worry, guys. If the "real" world is another level of the Matrix, I doubt that we'll find out right at the end. The brothers have planned this out in every detail, and they're smart. If there is a reveal of this other level of the Matrix, they'll probably let us in on it when Neo figures it out (maybe before) and Neo will have to resolve stuff after that. They'll let us see that. They have to and they know it.

I can't wait to see how this will all play out!

Yes. I agree. It looks like Neo will wake up and say "woha!", and the beans will be spilled in the first act. I was entertaining the notion that perhaps Neo has learned to control the implants in his head... that he found he could use them like a wireless modem to jam up the squddies signal, on their own carrier wave, but I guess it makes more sence in the context of a matix in a matrix thing. I wonder how the other Zionites will take such a revelation. It won't be good for moral...

Have faith in the Watchout-ski bros, eh? well they havn't let me down yet (Tho "Bound" could have used a bit more skin) :naughty:

Animatrix as a clue....

well, in situations like this, its one thing to have Zion as MIM but another altogether to have it all mean nothing ie nothing really happened that way (Humans losing to Machines, Destroying the Sky etc). This would make it all pointless and I doubt the W Brothers will do that

One big clue for me that things are indeed as Morpheus explained (except for timeline since he is understandably duped if MIM is accurate) is The Second Renaissance on Animatrix. These were written by the themselves and are meant to show how this currrent situation came about....and it would all be pointless if the World as we know it is completely fake unless it is accordingly explained properly.

I used to consider that perhaps the humans as battery idea was only what Morpheus thought and not actually the case but after listening carefully to narration of that Animatrix episode, they do state the "battery" concept..

Of course then all that is in Zion Archives which brings us back to square one that is what anyone in Zion beleive to be true at all? hehe...damn back to 6 month wait ;P

are we the only people here or are you just following me around to pick a fight?

well I do see what you are saying and yes we pretty much have to go with what is apparent to the characters (untill November that is). But consider that if this is the 6th matrix and the 6th Zion, we could be talking 1000 years since the machines took over and dates and timelines, according the the archives, would be irrelivant.

It does seem rather pointless to argue the minutia of a story that will be revealed in 6 months but what the hell. it's fun. And frankly, this is the first movie that I have given any thought to in a philisophic sense since "Santa Claus vs. The Martians"

Well, tomorrow the Anamatrix DVD comes out and I'll be able to see all the stories. Have to side with cersei here, though, because the W bros wouldn't simply say, "Aha! Gotcha!" after all this. They went to a lot of trouble to create all these shorts (in addition to the highly expensive sequels) and they are supposed to fit into the movies' storyline as well.

Well just have to do our best to figure out the timeline based on the available data.

And remember, just because Morpheus says they've been fighting for 100 years, doesn't mean that every previous Zion fought for that long. Some might have been quite a bit longer... probably depended on how quick-witted the One of that generation was... and I think Neo's probably the smartest of them all.

While surfing earlier tonight, I came across the website for the new MMORPG by Warner Bros and Ubi Soft, "The Matrix Online." According to the site, the game takes place in the Matrix, after the events of Matrix III. This puts a whole new spin on things - the Matrix is still around after Revolutions...

This may lend credence to the theories on here that the humans just assume control of the matrix. Who knows, just more to ponder.

Check out the website @ www.thematrixonline.com, and let me know what you think.

How bout this thought. If Neo is symbolism for the Messiah. Why not make him take control of the Matrix in the end? Perhaps Zion's mainframe will get connected to the Matrix and with Neo's help they will be able to reconstruct it or something. They will giev the humans inside a choice, to stay put in the Matrix and live their lives and/or leave the Matrix and help out in the real world. So the Matrix can be like the Internet that we have today. People can still hook back up in and out of it. and with the Machine's help the world can be rebuild. The Machines do still need humans and the earth to live. and Humans really do need the Machines to survive in the long run. It seems that the Earth would ultimately decay if no one would look out for it.

Perhaps Neo would eventually take control of the Source, the Mainframe. Him and his children and with the help of a new Architect? He'll be the ultimate programmer. He is a hacker after all. The ultimate hacker.

By George, I think you've got it!

That seems very likely to me. and philosophicly is means there would arise in the Matrix a kind of religion or cult. If word got out that there was another level of existance available to the citizens of the Matrix, it can be imagined that there would be skepticizm and non belivers and cultists and, well, you see what I mean. I guess we will know in November...

Then again, with that interview with Reeves in mind when he said something like the third installment will close the story and leave no questions behind, perhaps the humans and machines will wipe each other out. Zion is close to the core. lol

just being funny-stupid. it would make the story suckie.

do you notice Zion with that big tunnel and bridges built across it? Perhaps that was evidence of the Machines digging before. Zion lies on a place where the Machines must have digged before perhaps during the first five Chosen Ones. just another observation. hehe

Nice one Jkairumie

Good theory for ending...would also self-fulfil the "propehy of the One" fake as it started out to be. Also fit into the whole "Messiah" thing about Neo. It may mean a sad ending though he may have to give up his humanity (and Trinity) to become fully code in order to manipulate it properly..

And no Skyron, I am not following you around just to argue with u hehe. Like u said, its fun to speculate and I respect everyone's view and believe it or not, i too can be influneced to change my mind (just ask pkgrl! hehe)
