This episode looks like another one of those different perspective ones, hinted at by [executive producer] Joseph Mallozzi in a pre-season chat. It centers around a camera crew, given permission to film the life and day-to-day running of the SGC by the Pentagon (or Air Force). As the episode chugs along, the film crew tries to get interviews with Jack, Sam and Daniel.

The SGC is trying to develop new armor for their off-world teams. Current kevlar armor doesn't stop a staff blast, because the plasma seems to act like a microwave, cooking the person. So they are attempting a new ceramic armour. Siler is chosen as the candidate, and Teal'c shoots siler with the new armor on (he is protected with a padded wall behind him). Siler is OK; the armor seems to work, but we're not sure to what extent.

SG-1 and a medical unit are called off-world to help another team caught in a firefight. O'Neill is hit. Fraiser is also hit while attempting to save a fallen SGC member, and it is claimed by another member that she may have died.

The events of "Disclosure" are followed up in some degree in this episode. The bigwigs in the U.S. government have sent in some filmmakers to do a procedural documentary on the SGC. A military liaison escorts the filmmakers, whose leader is determined to dig up everything he can on the star team of the SGC -- namely, SG-1.

O'Neill, being his charming self, is totally uncooperative, although he gives them the "16" magazine version of himself (likes, dislikes) which doesn't do them a hill of beans of good. Carter and Fraiser are cooperative; Daniel is vague, and seemingly mulling over his past failures.

The filmmakers get to see SG-1 in action as they go off-world in a rescue mission when another team is ambushed. Even Fraiser goes, as there are injuries. Something goes terribly wrong, and there are injuries and a casualty. The filmmakers, who weren't allowed to go off-world, hear that O'Neill was hit with a staff blast and Carter was very upset.

The fillmakers then decide to track down the survivors of the ambush -- and specifically Daniel, who had a camcorder with him and witnessed and inadvertently taped the death of a dear friend. The fillmaker gets his story, but at a high price.

They cannot kill of Janet it's not fair? What would happen to Cassie?

Though last I heard the actress behind the lovley character that is Janet hasn't signed up for Season 7 as she has other projects running. If this is still the case then I guess we're saying good bye to the dear doctor.

It would explain the rumors that Frasier will be leaving, very sad indeed, but it could make for some good episodes. This ep sounds like it could be very interesting, one to look forward to!

Parker is the director of the documentary and Wickenhouse and James are his crew. Rundell is the military liaison assigned to them. Hammond has been ordered to let the team film and conduct interviews. Parker is particularly tactless as he tries to capture the real SGC on film. The episode is from the film crew's point of view. Parker starts of under the impression that this is all terribly exciting, and he's making the most historically important film ever. He wants to get all of the romance and adventure on film.

He's in the middle of interviewing Janet when she's called away. As reported, she goes off world with SG-1, and the film crew stays behind. The crew gets sketchy details about what happened. They believe there has been one casualty from a glimpse of returning personnel. First O'Neill is reported as dead, and then later they believe the casualty is Janet because of a video Danielmade of an injured airman, Wells. Daniel was assisting Janet as she tried to treat Wells, who had taken a blast from a staff.

Janet indicates to Daniel that Wells isn't likely to make it, and Daniel pulls out his camera so the man, can record a farewell to his pregnant wife. Janet is hit as Daniel is filming, and he drops the camera as he goes to her aid. We only see that Janet is down, but not how badly she is injured. With the camera on the ground where Daniel dropped it, we hear audio of him shouting repeatedly for a medic and Carter saying that O'Neill is down.

Settle down. RDA has said on more than one occasion that he'll be present for the duration of season 7, but on a limited basis (to spend more time with his daughter). Also, he's said that he would be on-board for an SG-1 movie, so unless they kill him by having him ascend too (how boring would that be!), he'll be around for the long-haul.

It's probably Doc Frasier like everyone's been saying.

She's been with the show since the very beginning, just like Shanks. I remember reading somewhere that she's signed on to some movie project in the very near future. Its quite probably that she got a better offer from someone, for some other project, and it is interfering with her SG-1 schedule, so the writers are doing the only thing they can do.

I honestly doubt that the writers would just kill off Janet in the last season without a really good reason, ie, something that they have no control over. She's been the medical backbone of the show for 6 seasons, why would the writers all of a sudden decide now was the time to get rid of her? Not logical.

A lot of people don't realize that actors are just doing their job. If you were working at McDonalds, and you had a group of people who came in every day for lunch and just loved how you served them, loved how nice you were, and how great of a McDonalds employee you were, but then, Burger King calls you up and offers you double your current salary at McDonalds if you come work for them. Are you just going to stay at McDonalds because you have all these adoring fans of your service? Highly unlikely. Actors are the same way, its their job, if they get offered more money for some project that looks attractive to them, they take it. Its that simple.

I'm not saying she shouldn't quit, I'm saying the writers shouldn't take the easy way out of killing a character off because they are leaving. Why not have her go one vacation with Cassie or something, have her resign or get transfered...

Ahhh, I see what you're saying. Well, having the character die off is more dramatic, and well, writers try to make things as exciting and dramatic as they can.

Especially with what happened with Michael Shanks, they probably want to make sure the character *really* dies off, so that fans don't expect them to come back a year later................

Now what WOULD be interesting is, if she does die, but she also ascends. That could open up a WHOLE can of worms. There's about a million story arcs that could come of that. First of all, it would mean someone helped her ascend. Presumably Oma Desala. Now what would get real interesting, is if somehow, some way, the ascended ancients "change their tune" about interfering with the mortal realm, and this is just the springboard to get them involved. Oma herself obviously has a vested interest in SG-1, since they share many commonalities (the harcesis child, Daniel, Abydos, etc). Would it be SO far-fetched if the Asgard were to get involved, and convince the Ancients to come back to the mortal plane of existence to help rid the universe of all this **** that's been going on in our galaxy and the asgard's? It would make an amazing storyline for the possible upcoming movie, as well as the Atlantis series. However, I'm guessing that the Atlantis series is all about discovering more and more about the history and past of the Ancients, and as such, one would assume the Ancients aren't around still during that series, else they'd just tell everyone their story.

BUT, rouge elements of the Ancients, such as Oma, could in fact defect in large numbers, basically rejuvinating the entire race of the Ancients on the mortal plane, leaving the others in the higher plane. Oma at least has to realize that a lot of the **** going on right now is directly the fault of the Ancients. Anubis is a prime example. He needs to be dealt with, and I don't quite think that SG-1 can feasably "take care" of him on their own. They need someone's help, and it'll likely be the Asgard, but I'd like to see some Ancients get in the mix.

Which reminds me, WHY THE HECK doesn't SG-1 just sit Thor down and be like "OK, Thor, buddy, we saved your entire species. More than once. We'll probably do it again. You knew these Ancients. Give us the whole story! Your safe for the time being, replicators are in that time dialation bubble, let's get the scoop on these crazy energy nutjobs!".

Unfortunately, as I understand it, scenes with Asgard in them are expensive to produce, which would explain why we don't see the Asgard all that often. I'd like to see an increase in their presence as well.

But, back to the topic at hand. So Janet dies, ascends with the help of Oma, etc etc. Then, Janet's able to come back for the movie when her gig is up that she's going to be doing, by unascending ala-Daniel. Although, that'd be rather unoriginal writing, but it gives her a doorway back in. And it makes sense, because she DID state she would love to be in the movie if it gets made. So one would think they'd figure some way to get her back into the mix.

Wow.. I really went off on a lot of tangents. Anyways, yeah, they probably will have her die just because its more dramatic, and pulls on the heartstrings of those that get emotional about a story-line. Having her go on vacation or resigning is a bit, well, boring.

By the way, who wants to start putting bets down on who we're going to see as regular cast in the Atlantis spin off? I'm betting the farm that the Asgard play a monstrous role in it. Why? Because spoiler people have said that the show is not only going to be based off-world, but it's also going to be in an entirely different galaxy. So humans, running around some other galaxy, dealing with what is said to be "A much worse bad guy than we've ever seen". Should be an interesting show..

From SG1_Spoilme

SG-13 is off-world at an abandoned naquadah mine. The team,
consisting of Dixon, Wells, and Bosworth, pass the time away with
idle chatter about families. Dixon is a family man already but Wells
is expecting his first child. They come across the ruins of a city
which appear to have been constructed by the Ancients, and find
themselves under attack by a strange Gou'ald flying device.

During SG-13's debriefing, Hammond and SG-1 decide they should go
back and retrieve the strange alien device. SG-1 will go in, with SG-
3 as backup. Things seem to go well, SG-1 returns home with the
device, but then SG-3 is under attack by Jaffa, who shoot Wells. SG-1
goes to the rescue, accompanied by Dr. Fraiser.

These scenes appear to be interspersed with new scenes of a Kinsey-
driven investigation into the rescue missio and its tragic
consequences. Kinsey sends an operative, Woolsey, to review Hammond's
decision.

Also, a scene toward the end indicates that Daniel visits Wells at
home, and Jack, recuperating from his own injuries, gets something
special.
