Ummm ...... sorry guys - i may have missed something .... but does anyone get a "server cannot be found" message when you try to access heliopolis ? I think itz disappeared need my stargate fix :S

Those of you who have tried to visit Heliopolis or Heliopolis 2 over
the weekend may have noticed that they were not there. They were
removed from the internet and my account terminated by my webhosting
provider for excessive bandwith use.

I am in the process of finding a new home for them. I think that I
may have a solution, but I am waiting to hear from a new host about
whether they are willing to host the archives. They have a larger
bandwidth allowance, and automatically charge for overages.

I had prepaid for a year for the previous account (even though I only
had it for fifty days), and will not receive a refund from them. I
will have to prepay once again to host this site, and my options are
limited, due to the amount of bandwidth required. I am a disabled
veteran on a limited income,and simply cannot af! ford that, at this
time. I am asking the fans of Stargate and Heliopolis to help support
this endeavor by making small donations.

I have a temporary page for updates and donations located at:

I would appreciate any support or suggestions from the fans, and I
may be reached at stargate @ panthermoon . com (remove the spaces)
for the interim, as none of the Heliopolis addresses are working at

First of all, I would like to thank everyone who has contacted me about
Heliopolis, both since yesterday, and since my becoming the webmistress of
this site. Your support has been overwhelming and makes this all worthwhile
to me.

I have found a new home for Heliopolis, at least for the next few months.
Both Heliopolis and Heliopolis 2 will be returning to the web within the
next week, hopefully. Feel free to keep checking back at
http://panthermoon.com/heliopolis/ for updates on the situation. I have
posted some details to the most frequently asked questions there.

As always, I welcome your correspondance, suggestions and support. Feel free
to contact me at any time.

As for the content of Heliopolis, I was able to backup almost all of the
content for Heliopolis, but the database itself was not backed up during
March, because I did not have warning of the shut-down. I do have a record
of all submissions made to the website, and many of the files. I may be able
to reconstrust all of the missing content. However, there were about 300
submissions in the last month alone, so it may take some time. If I need you
to re-submit your file, I will contact you. I will post a message when I
have replaced all of the content, so that you may check at that time.

Thank you again for all of your support. I will post again when the sites
have been restored, which should be within the week. Please feel free to
repost this message to any interested parties and lists, provided it does
not violate list rules.
