Browsing through my new acquisition on the Attack of the Clones, I came across this little gem. Before they decided that Christopher Lee was the ideal new Sith bad guy to get the chop for this film (typecasting or what?). They were seriously trying to fill the role with a women. Starting with a Medussa like, they progressed through a progression of young female forms, including a droid, in a range of arabesque styles, including curved light sabres, until they decided upon a human hag. The later was all decided upon until they discovered Christopher Lee. Anybody with more on this?

i have never heard of this but it makes sense that they were trying to break away from the stereo type that all the bad dark jedi must be men, or have been, i wonder who they might have picked for the role would have been interesting to see a woman sith:rolly2:

Bloomin' 'eck Ray, that's a new one on me. I though Lee was pretty durn good, but more of a female slant to Star Wars couldn't have hurt it much. Mind you - I suppose the opposing argument is that it is in keeping with the original trilogy to keep the cast packed with macho guys ![]()

I agree Lee is a great actor and thanks to Dracula the moment he appears on the screen, we know he is the bad guy, (though Peter Cushing does a better skull on legs trick now ). But a female bad guy would have been niceSome of the development drawings that the went through for Countess Dooku: The Medusa look
