![]() I suppose it would complicate all her rousing speeches. "Don't get too comfortable you SiTs. For you to be chosen I have to die. Actually, it's not me who has to die, it's this other slayer, but she's in prison after she turn evil, killed a bunch of people, stole my body and then stole my boyfriend (x2)" | |

Yeah, but even so... The one that got me is that Dawn repeats the mistake when she's alone with Willow, Xander & Anya - and no one corrects it! ------ WILLOW: A Slayer… makes sense, I guess. Remember that thing about they share the same blood or whatever? ANYA: Yeah, I never got that. DAWN: She has to die. I mean, if I was ever the Slayer, it would mean she died. ------ It seems pretty clear that Willow was talking about Dawn & Buffy. And the way Dawn was upset, she certainly seems to be talking about her sister. No one, not even the usually picky and quick-to-point-out-mistakes Anya, speaks up and says - You mean Faith has to die, right? The only person around to be fooled is the audience. And if Joss was trying to make us forget about Faith, it was the wrong way to go, because in the case of most of us, it just served to remind us that she is THE Slayer, as I like to say since the line of succession flows through her. Buffy is A Slayer.

They're all on crack - I'm telling you -- they must have made a stop when they went looking for Willow back in "Wrecked" - b/c they were jealous - she had her magic crack and they didn't have anything -- so, they got some of their own -- either that - or they're all being brainwashed by the first to forget stuff --- Angel Spoiler or that demon beast or it's master erased that part of their memories like it did those pages in the books in this dimension guess anything's possible

I wasn't too impressed with this epi, but i am REALLY hating Dawn. Does she do anything except shriek at the top of her voice? And how stupid was she to go out alone at night, then go looking for a vamp, without taking so much as a stake?! One thing i loved about this epi was Xander's speech at the end, i was nearly crying. I've wondered before how Xander felt about being the only one of the group without any powers, so now i know. I think Andrew and Anya were great, i was in hysterics whenever they spoke! Andrew: ... plucked from an ordinary life... handed a destiny... Xander: Say Skywalker and I smack you. and Anya: Yes, it’s like one second you’re this klutzy teenager with fake memories and a history of kleptomania and then suddenly you’re a hero. A hero with a much abbreviated life span.

the first time i watched this one, I was a little distracted by my house-mates and I ended up thinking it was a pointless filler episode, but I managed to watch it again, and it turns out it was quite interesting.. ![]() The SiTs (is that what we're calling them - I would have preferred Slayerettes) got some useful lessons - they have the potential (hence the name) and given the circumstances this potential has to be brought forth prematurely, and they need the killer instinct. Dawn really grew in this episode, I've ne'er been her biggest fan, but she showed some strength and and maturity (in between running and screaming), in giving her "power" to the other girl. And everyone's said it, but Xander and Dawn's scene at the end was one of Xander's best, probably along with him talking WIllow down at the end of S6, and telling Buffy to go after Riley in S5...

I still don't understand why everyone hates Dawn so much - she has the potential to be a really interesting character, but the writers forget about her too - she only gets used if they need to show off Buffy or get Dawn in trouble or prove that she's not a SiT -- (they can't call 'em slayerettes, mark - that's what Willow said she and Xander and Cordy were way back in S1) I agree that Dawn running off into the night w/ no weapons was stupid, but she was a little overwhelmed by the possibility that she might become the slayer and everyone seemed really excited for her about it too, and she was going out 'to get some air' - not to fight vampires. She just decided to do the fighty thing when she bumped into Amanda, and maybe she was trying to 'show off' (taking lessons from Spike ). Of course, when she realizes that it's not her, she tells Amanda what she needs to hear and 'hands over the mantle' so to speak. Dawn was much more mature in this episode than half the Scoobies have been all season - And Xander's little speech at the end --- awesome! hope it's not his last great scene -- poor guy - he has less story than Spike sometimes (if that's even possible) -
