Well, the X-Wing series is awesome, but since there are so many pivotal things happening in the NJO series, I had to vote that way. If huge things weren't happening in the NJO series, I would have definately said X-Wing because Michael Stackpole is an awesome writer and I haven't found a single flaw with his books.

The only problem with so many different writers taking on the NJO is that they are not all as consistant as the others. Some are better writers than others and some pay more attention to character details than others, creating continuity problems in the series. The series is just so big, with such important things happening, that I have to say, even with the problems in it, it's the best series.

While the NJO series has been pretty good as far as storyline and whatnot, I have yet to really click with any of the characters like I did in the X-Wing series so I'm gonna have to go with that one.

I haven't read the X-Wing series yet, so my vote goes to NJO. Even though I stopped reading that after Star by Star.

Well, I love the x-wing series to BITS, so i had to vote that way. (minus isard's revenge, but...eh)

I also like The Approaching Storm (i think that's the right name?) which takes place between ep 1 and ep 2.

As well as Cloak of Deception which takes place just before ep1.

By far, the Thrawn trilogy is the best original, licensed Star Wars fiction that I've read. I liked many of the new characters, especially Grand Admiral Thrawn and Mara Jade, and the ysalamir is a very cool, multi-faceted alien creature. The story strongly gripped my attention and interest, and I especially liked that Timothy Zahn fully explored the mythology of the Star Wars and its characters. It might have helped that I was so excited by the advanced hype of the trilogy that I bought all three novels in hardcover .
