Star Trek Star Charts

Ever wanted to know what planet was at the furthest edge of the Federation, or the position of Qo'Nos to Earth, or just where Voyager got to. Then this could well be the book for you.

With umpteen star maps, details of some 60 planets from all over the galaxy and battle plan schematics from the Dominion War, it makes a fascinating dip into the Star Trek universe

And some practical details - who's the genious behind it? where can we get it from? Just in case..........

Star Trek Star Charts
written and Illustrated by Geoffrey Mandel.
With much collaboration with folks at P/Mount and experts on Star Trek

ISBN 0-7434-3770-5

Published by Pocket Books so should be able to obtain it from the usual suspects at about $17.95 (or £13 in real money)

Just as a thought, I think Dave's copy is a year or two older than mine, I don't think his edition covers Enterprise, so it looks as if it is updated every year or so

Actually, I only bought my copy a few months ago, so it does have the route of the Enterprise in it.

I thought that the book had just been produced. I think the earlier edition was just a folder of loose maps.

I bought it to use it as a reference for role-playing games. I'm not sure why anyone would need such a thing otherwise. It would also be useful as a reference for fan-fic writing.

I've heard that it is one of the tomes they now use on the series itself, together with the 'Star Trek Chronology'. It helps the writers to stay within the established continuity, which must be extremely challenging for a new writer. (And seems to be for the established ones too!)

He has solved a few of the errors that have appeared during the years, with some ingenious explanations. The Planetary classifications part now makes that the official version, to replace the hundreds of fan versions that have appeared. The part on quadrants, sector grids and sectors also makes sense of something that was as clear as mud before.

So, if you are a nitpicker it's worth looking at for those reasons.
