Saturday Night Live Sketch

Does anyone know if it would be possible to get hold of the 'Saturday Night Live' Sketch with John Belushi from May 29, 1976?

I think it was entitled "Captain's log, final entry."

In the skit, John Belushi played actor William Shatner in his role of Captain James T. Kirk. He refuses to leave the set of his series even as the walls of the set are coming done.

Finally, resigned to his situation he says "Captain's log, final entry. We have tried to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before. And except for one television network, we have found intelligent life everywhere in the galaxy. Live long and prosper. Captain James T. Kirk, SC 937-0176CEC."

Do you know of any other 'take-offs' of 'Star Trek'?

I remember the 'Muppet Show' doing 'Pigs in Space', and the 'Simpsons' have done Spock. I remember a few other too, Jim Davidson, British comedian and Star Trek fan, did one but my memory needs a refresh.

HEy, what about the other sketch with Shatner in (talking about the US Saturday Night Live show)?

Think: Trek convention. Shatner enters podium - then starts to tell the audience that it was just a TV series - it wasn;t real - get a life! Then pauses - "And that was a rendition of 'evil Kirk' from epidosde XX."

Remember that one, too?

Star Trek itself? Lamponed to death by every conceivable comedy series, it seems.

Both classics!

I was wondering which one you were referring to in the title.

Will keep my eyes open and see if can find something for you. I think the Belushi sketch is available on some SNL best of DVDs, but you have to import them, I believe.

I haven't seen either of them!

I know 'Saturday Night Live' is an institution over there, but we don't get to see it over here.
