Have you seen it yet?

I think that cinema previews started last Sunday (24/11/02), though it's not on general release until December 18th, 2002.

So, anyone seen it yet?

I am so excited about this I can't breathe! Not seen it yet, been keeping an eye out for previews.

There is a review over at www.aintitcool.com from someone that has seen it early. I haven't read it yet, as I want to avoid spoilers (how stupid is that? Like I don't know what happens ).

LOL! Looking forward to it but not that bad!

The trailer is available on line from Cinemas Online in two flavours, large and small- take your pick.

It's not a scream and shout lash up of the action parts, so it is a good teaser.

I think only the cast and crew have seen the movie so far, and that they're only going to start showing press screenings next week. So that would be a no for me. Plus I have to wait an extra week until its released here, on the 26th. The trailers, previews and extended FOTR dvd should keep me occupied until then.

Though, I could have gotten a bootleg copy from a friend, who has only seen the first half so far but says its awesome. Some of his friends (therefore a friend of a friend of mine ) got it from NZ; one of the few advantages of being this close to the country . I'd just prefer to wait and see it on the big screen.

I saw it yesterday!!!

It's so amazing! Go see, now! i won't give anything away until people have seen it, but it is so good! It does differ from the book slightly but then I suppose it had to really.

I'm so excited and I've already seen it! I'm going again on Monday with some friends who haven't seen it yet, yippee!!

I just saw it like an hour ago. It was awesome. I can't decide who I like better in this one, Legolas or Gimli. They were so funny. I don't know the exact date but I know I'm going again soon. I'm in line for a double feature today. TTT earlier and now my mom wants to go see Signs in the cheap theater.

Legolas invented skateboarding!!!

I saw it yesterday.
The battle scenes were amazing, especially Helm's Deep and Isengard. Gollum was really funny, especially in his little monologues. I just didn't really like the scenes with Arwen and how they chaned Faramir around.

I thought it was a really good film although a few things they changed from the books irrated me quite a bit.

They really don't need the Arwen scenes. They put a big fuzzy hold on all the tension and excitement of all the scenes going out round it.
:flash:

The review on the Radio 2 arts programme went as far as to suggest that the Arwen scenes were good and helped make the film.

Then the wazzock that suggested that, thought FOTR too slow and spent too much time introducing things.

It was the first film, what were they supposed to do? Launch into the story without letting the audiance know what was going on? Plonker.

The Arwen scenes didn't bother me too much, it kept reminding me that they were in love and that Eyowen (spelling dodgy I know!) should keep her paws off Aragorn!

I thought the movie was really good, as always there gunna have somethings that son't relate to the book, but overall it was good.

Now I don't know if it was just me, but didn't anyone else think that in this movie, Legolas' character opened up a little more? I mean I thought he smiled a lot more, showed more emotion, and cracked a couple of jokes with Gimli, I really liked that

Smile

I agree Arwen, a much more open Legolas this time loved Gollum

They did well with the three different narrative 'parts' to not make is so confusing i havent read the books (dont shoot, i'm too poor ) so i thought that was cool.

xxx

Wow. I thought the movie was great. Gimli was funny, not in a bad way either. You could see the three companions are close to each other.
Helms Deep, Ent attack and Gollum all looked amazing. And Gollum was a real character rather than just a CG prop.
The one thing I didn't really like was the exorcism of Theoden and the huge change. It was just too much for me.
