Damn scary film in parts. And the horse bit... ewwww. I've never seen the original but aparently the remake stays quite true to it. I heard there's a sequel and the child isn't safe after all...

I'm making it a point to see it when it's released. Realizing that sequels have a reputation for being duds, maybe this one will turn out OK (well, I can hope, can't I? ).

I'll go and see it with a whole lot of friends and maybe a cushion. I know I'm a wimp but the first one was pretty freaky so I think something to hide behind is a must. But you're in America right? So you can tell me how big my cushion needs to be! I agree with you about the sequal thing but I'm getting a not-as-good-as-the-original vibe from this one. I may be completely wrong, we shall see...

I saw the Ring 2 last night. I personally don't think it was as good as the first one. Still made me jump but I felt the plot was lacking in any real... well plot I guess. The way in which Samara crawled out of the well was freaky though. Her whole movements are quite scary and she was a much more real threat - physically in the room with them (sort of). I've heard a rumour of a Ring 3 - surely there can't be much more to this story??
