"Grokker" - great name for a search engine or what?

Grokker Search Engine Provides Visual Search Results

from the sounds-like-kartoo dept.

KeatonMill writes "The New York Times (as always, free registration) ran this article about a new search engine, called Grokker, created by a company called Groxis. Grokker builds a map of content catagories using metadata. So far, it is used in the Amazon.com online catalog and the Northern Light search engine. Groxis is also developing a version to use to search your own computer."
Hehe, I thought that was a FANTASTIC name for a search engine, wish I'd thought of it.

Just in case I was incredibly vague in my last post - Grok is a key word from Heinlein's book "Stranger in a Strange Land"

from www.groxis.com

Quote:
To “Grok” means to understand as a whole — Grokker™ is a tool that facilitates a holistic approach to the understanding of complex and disconnected information.

The Grokker software is a platform for life. It was designed to grow and adapt to the ever changing landscape of online information, the Internet, and beyond. Therefore, Grokker will become more meaningful to you over time, as new information is “Grokked.”
Make sense now?
