I never quite understood why all the characters in this show have such crazy names. I mean, I realize that usually characters in tv shows, movies, comics, fiction in general have quite odd and meaningful names, but never so many or so crazy in one show!

Wade Welles
Maximillian Arturo
Quinn Mallory
Rembrant Brown

I found the following on imdb:
Quinn Mallory was aptly named: "Quinn" is Irish for "intelligent," and "Mallory" is Latin for "ill fated."

Are there any other explanations for the odd names?
