We learnt from Dr. Chandra, who just pops by for no reason (no explanation given), that AI researchers developed a breed of Synthetic as a game. They gave these 'Skins' different weapons training, but in the end "Kwon" won, and Dr. Chandra's team came second. Dr. Chandra said he was glad that he now knew he wasn't alone in his fight, but had to leave them to do other things -- this was very strange and seemed at odds with everything else that's happened. This was quite a sad episode. Apart from the death of Paige, and Mark leaving home, and the husband leaving with Sarah's son, we had come to believe that Angela's father wasn't that bad after all, only to discover at the end, that he was, in fact, the evil mastermind behind 'Project BrightSky'. I'm a little confused by the 'Project BrightSky' now, because I thought that it had been established that it was simply the name of the satellite platform. There must be something more sinister to it, because otherwise Senator Perry wouldn't have lied to Angela about his knowledge of it, or he would have queried why she thought knowing about it would make him a target for assassination. Also why did the 'Skin' want to stop 'BrightSky'? I assume that the winner of the 'Skin' competition, Kwon, was a 'Sentient'. Does this mean that not all the 'Sentients' want 'BrightSky' to go ahead? Does it mean Kwon is on the same side as the 'Odyssey 5'? Is it necessary for Senator Perry to die in order to save the world? It's a pity they killed off Paige as I liked her character's interactions with Chuck. I accidently read a spoiler a while ago that she died, but when she got electrocuted with the food mixer in the sink, I assumed that was it instead. This episode was obviously the one before the 'hiatus', but six more are coming this season: 15. Begotten 16. Vanishing Point 17. Follow the Leader 18. Half-Life 19. Rage 20. Fossil No details of the stories though. | |

| Strange and sad this episode. The first issue is this "skin" buisness. Ok its some form of sentient but Chandra said they were created purely for battle using all forms of warfare but in a experimental digital enviroment. Ok so the Skin winner escaped then took over his creator making him do bad things etc. Out of nowhere this "skin" sentient shoots Perry. Why? We find out later that Perry is behind Project brights sky so again.. Why does the sentient want to kill Perry. What is the link between Bright Sky the sentients and the destruction of the world. Was "skin" aware of bright sky and actually trying to destroy it? Paige paid the price for Chucks fight which was a real shame, Her death didnt fit with the storyline to me. Chuck has been a sentient and recovered, Neil got hooked on sentient drugs and recovered but Paige bites the dust. So Chuck has quit for now, well he must return the show has a certain amount of predictability to it. The real interesting thing about this episode was Kurt and his breeding tanks at the warehouse. He is definatly going to make a sythn body or even a sentient. Wether its to help O5 or just to help Kurt we dont now but should be interesting to watch. We are just going to wait and see where the show takes us. I truly hope they dont give us a naff ending. Ranger |
