Student in need of help/advice! Hi everyone. I need help. At the moment I am doing me degree in German and History but after doing really really badly in exams I am wanting to drop History. The courses I am interested in doing in replacing History are: American Studies, European Studies, Applied Social Studies, Politics, and Education. I have to decide by tomorrow, because I have an appointment with the Academic Guidance Tutor at 12:30pm. If anyone who has experience in studying these subjects or can help in any other way can give me a hand like by telling me what they thought of the subject or whatever that would be brilliant ![]() Cheers, Sinistra

My first college experience was studying marketing...I had to take a political science course, and lucked out. The instructor was a former diplomat from Africa and had a great deal of interesting things to say. I really learned a lot from him. It was especially interesting to study the United Nations and events happening around the world. Especially now, with all the goings on in the Middle East, you may get a lot out of a political science class. How I wish I was a student again, with no worries except my grades & paying for books & food. Anyway, if you know the instructor of a particular class is good and you need the credits anyway, by all means, take it.

Well, before i trudged back to my house (35 minute walk...not good when raining) I printed off a load off information from the Keele website for 2002 entry. Luckily they were still offering Clearing places as well for the courses I was interested in. Anyway, I think I might give European Studies a go. I like History, but I want to do something a little wider than that and European Studies will give me that option because I will be able to take modules from the History, International Relations, and Politics departments and even Law or Economics if I want to...hopefully a course as varied as this will manage to keep me interested in the subject longer than a year Thanks for the advice guys ![]() Sini :rain:
