Spiderman 2

(PLEASE TRY NOT TO GIVE AWAY ANY PLOT IN THIS THREAD)

Anyone seen Spiderman 2 yet? I watched it the other day and I thought it was magnificent. I was never a huge fan of the first Spiderman film to be honest, but I thought this was a lot more daring. First opinions guys?

I am going to go see it with a mate tonight, opinions coming forthwith.

Whatever its merits as a superhero film, Kirsten Dunst is RAR.

One of the best comic based movies ever made. They really did a great job on this installment, it may be tough to top it.

The direction is excellent. The only way to do those swinging scenes is extended shots, and they do just that. Funny, too, which is a nice change from stuffy tripe like Daredevil. This is up there with The Crow and Ghost in the Shell.

Really! You didn't like Daredevil? I really quite enjoyed the Daredevil movie, though I must confess I knew little of its background when I saw the film. In many respects I actually preferred Darevil to the first Spiderman movie, but number two is infinately better than both.

Re: Spiderman 2

Daredevil was seriously over-acted by Colin Farrell...

Other parts of it were fine, but I can't say that Ben Affleck was particularly convincing as Matt Murdock - and where was Stick???

I enjoyed the first Spider-man... Though there was one scene that always annoys me... Close-up of SM and MJ swinging and her hair is going the wrong way!!!

My husband and I just saw Spiderman 2 last night. We both enjoyed it very much. Any idea how many Spiderman movies they will be making?

Oh, great - that's got the film over-hyped already.

I'll wait for it on DVD, then buy it for my better half.

Re: Spiderman 2

I'm definitely planning on seeing that one. I already like the first one, so there's a good chance I'll like this one, too. And the best of it: I'll go see it in the one language I never had any problem understanding!!!! (And no, that's not English...)

Re: Spiderman 2

Definitely better than the first one and I actually found Daredevil very disappointing.

My one nitpick was when Peter Parker refused to help a guy being mugged. Come on, any self respecting individual would have jumped in and helped the guy. He seemed to be in the mind set of "you can only help if you have super powers".

Re: Spiderman 2

[edit by I, Brian]************ SPOILERS ALERT **************[/edit]

I watched Spider-Man 2 today...

Hmmmm, I was a little perplexed by the mugging scene, and then later runs into a burning building?!?!?

And the fact of him showing nearly all of New York who he was!!! I can't see that happening... Especially since he was going to great lengths to keep his identity secret from MJ and Aunt May!!!

But, NO, all the people on the train, DOCTOR OCTOPUS, Harry Osbourn... Then MJ just happens to see, and they have that heart-to-heart - lousy scene, by the way!!!

And that Wedding Dress - YIKES!!! What a horrible thing!!!

I see that they brought in John Jameson... Possible space mission and Venom on the horizon??? And Doctor Connors - so a certain reptile, eh???

But no Eddie Brock???

I like the J Johan Jameson character, such a pain in the backside!!! But soooooo funny!!! And cheap!!! HAHAHA!!!

Will Parker move back in with Aunt May??? Or is the house gone???

All in all, a damn fine film... Fight scenes were excellent, shame about Donna whats-her-face, sliced by the glass - but nothing on the corpse (that I could see)!!!!

And the vertigo attack was quite good...
