Smile Corin´s coming! Yeah!

I just wanted to say that I am sooooooo happy that Corin will really be joining Gatecon! I can´t believe it! I so hoped he might but never actually thought he would.
THANKS Richard, good job! :kisses:

And you guys who have some... resentments (to put it nicely) against Jonas/Corin: PLEASE BEHAVE!
It´s not his fault that Michael left!

Let´s make him feel welcome!!!

Greetings from Germany-
Anja
(who hardly can wait to get on that plane on September 9!!!

Corin

I feel pretty comfortable saying that Stargate fans are pretty much a polite, well mannered group. Gatecon has certainly been.

That's offensive.

If you believe that Daniel Jackson fans who attend Gatecon might misbehave toward CN, someone's been spending too much time on lists that peddle propaganda. It's rather insulting to imply that adults would behave that way, particularly since I've seen some of the worst, alarming and vicious hate material on-line from anti-MS sites like that belonging to Alli Snow. Some fans dislike the character of Jonas, but they have a grip on reality and can separate a fictional character from a real actor who portrays him. To imply that the Daniel fans can't make this distinction is highly insulting.

Yaaayyy! It will be terrific to meet the new character/actor. He will be a con newbie. So folks, be *gentle* on him! Or he may never come back again.

Concerns

Folks, is there something on these forums that has people concerned that adults can't act like adults? By commenting on this sort of thing, it only draws attention and could actually create problems rather than settle them.

No matter what personal opinions we may have as to changes in casting etc. in Stargate, folks who can drop the kind of money necessary to go to something like GateCon are adults and can be expected to act like them.

Well, Allan & Rowan,

You must have felt the undercurrents in the posts and letters to fan mags about the loss of Dr Jackson character. One only hopes that the sentiment does not translate into unruly behavior at the con. Yes, all or most who attend are adults, so they should behave like adults.

In my post, I mentioned the I hope folks/fans will be *gentle*. I meant that the questions don't get unruly or too rude. And is there any *polite* way to ask a gentleman if he "prefers boxers or briefs"??????? I would never undertake that task! But in the anonymity of a large dark auditorium, I guess someone could muster up the nerve to pose the question. Heeheehee!

If Mr Nemec has a certain sense of humour, I guess it would be OK. Look at what happens when JR Bourne gets on the stage! Almost anything goes! (my ears are flaming. I guess it's the kettle calling the kettle black..... I was the lady with the teeth! )

I know what you mean about JR... We've almost renamed Gatecon to "JR Con" a number of times :rolly2: :rolly2: :rolly2:

Understand.

That I understand. I was the one who suggested to Colin and JR that they do "The Odd Couple".

Unhappy Guys!

I know that one should expect adults to behave like adults- but believe me, I have made quite dissapointing experiences in this regard!

I DID NOT want to offend anyone, I´m just saying!

Come on people, my fears are not TOTALLY unfounded!

But I hope the best and I´m sure we will have a great time!

Cheers,
A.

Oh- and Bizarro7... I did not spent any time on those "propaganda sites"- I made those questionable aquaintances all offline! And I´m not in the least implying that DJ-fans in general can´t make a distinction between real life and fiction... I am a fan myself! It´s just that I DO know people who can NOT make that distinction, believe it or not.

I'm so glad corin's coming. And i'm sure that when folks get there and away from the anonimity of the internet, they'll be good little boys and girls.

For anyone on both sides or any side, misbehavior risks getting asked to leave. And i think we can all agree that all of us are spending too much money to get into the con to risk that in a display of bad manners.
