Welcome to Comics and Graphic Novels

Welcome to Comics & Graphic Novels!

From childhood favourites like the Beano, through the now Scifi classics of Batman and Superman, to the latest Graphic Novels and beyond, this is the place to discuss them.

:rolly2: It's keep up with the Tabi day and a healthy dose of Memory Lane:rolly2:

Yes. I enjoyed my comics as a kid, though the regulars were Whizzer and 2000AD rather than the more specialist ones. More variety, weekly and much much cheaper!

Gosh! This is becoming a vast project!

Browsing around for more facts on the twenty odd comic superheroes/heroines I know, for the brief histories, I've found another thirty! From Atomman to Zeus. Let alone the latest crop

I've not started looking at the Sci/fi ones either:- Dan Dare, Flash Gordon, Space Family Robinson and onwards.

Yeh Ray, Comics has the potential to be as huge a project as Films - and that is currently killing me! I will try to help out here as much as I can, I am planning to start a bunch of DC threads... For things like Preacher, Transmetropolitan and the Invisibles, as well as the mainstream books (which I am currently less familiar with).

No probs Ray
Well, I keep reading people slagging off WB by saying that their only response to all the Marvel movies in production or recently released was "The Wonder Twins". I am not sure what this is, but it seems to be mentioned in a very disparagin way, so it can't be good! WB/DC are doing okay though - Batman vs Superman, Birds of Prey, Preacher and Constantine are in pre-production, and Smallville is already a confirmed success. Wonder Woman has been on the table for ages - I think it might finally get off the ground soon.

And as for books - that is even more difficult than movies! I love reading, but I find that storylines and important plot points don't stay with me for that long, so it is hard to post about something I haven't read for ages, unfortunately. I am reading a lot at the moment though, so I will post as I go!

With a fair amount of comics coming out now a days, this mini forum has the potential to do very well indeed

Well, I'll throw my short intro in. I've a collection of the X-files, S7(Soverign Seven), Weapon Zero, Impulse. I've collected some short runs like: Challengers of the Unknown, Black Ops, Pride and Wisdom, Scare Tactics, The new Hawk and Dove, Star Trek Early Voyages. And a few Pinky and the Brain that dealt with SF or X-files. For mags, I've collected a lot of the X-file star covers and I've a bunch of Star Trek and X-file TV Guide covers.

I'll subscribe to the forum and see what sort of traffic and subjects we all can produce.

Welcome Cyn!

Excellent news!
The US always had a far wider range of titles than here in the UK. Usually with good reasons to it and the gap is increasing again.

Look forward to hearing about them!

That is true ray!

Not sure if the comic series that I collect actually counts or not
