Star Trek:Frontier Supernova. 1.1:Exata's Passage.PG: Low level violence&adult themes

Hi, my name is Joel and I have started my own Fan Fic series. Although I admit, i'm not a relgious Star Trek fan, but I have considered Enterprise And Voyager to be quality viewing, I love them both. I never got into the predecessors. However, I am a fan enough to have started my own fan fiction.
Basically, how the series will work is just like the video's (1.1,1.2,1.3 etc....), and will go in seasons of 10 episodes. The series is based around the same time as Voyager on board an Akira class ship known as the Supernova Captained by Capt.Thomas Tucker.
So what's the series all about then? Well, it's set at about the same time of Voyager. It's an unusual ship and series for that matter. How unusual? Well, i've seemed to make the aliens more like aliens and the humans more humans. Confused? Of course you are! Basically, I've felt that the characters last few Trek shows have had supressed feelings. They don't seem to be quite over the top or having their bad days.
This is where Enterprise comes into it. Enterprise has all this. So, therefore, Supernova has the rawness of Enterprise, but the continuity of Voyager.

Here are the characters or crew for that matter:

Captain: Thomas Tucker
Thomas Tucker is a bold, enthusiastic and makes decisions irrespective to Starfleet policy or prime directive. He is in his early forties, with dark blonde hair, tall and light coloured skin. He is single and average in looks.
The Captain is not a quiet person, American in fact. At school he was considered to be a brat and the “big brother” of the household with a younger sister who we meet later in the first season, consequences of this a unknown. This is his first year as Captain, he served on the USS Verillium. He did so well on his 6 year journey, he moved up through the ranks, did lecturing at Star Fleet and eventually made it to Captain. Thomas is very satisfied with his achievements to date. When in his waiting room on his own, he opens a bottle of whisky to wind down that he smuggled on board the ship.

First in command: Cmdr Lucy Beckanim
Early thirties with dark brown hair, olive skin, and slim body. She wears her hair in a pony tail but when in her quarters on her own she wears it down. She’s quiet and speaks when she’s spoken to. She understands the importance of interacting with crew and likes to talk to Dr E’lana Mervok from time to time.
She is English and has a soft voice. As a child, growing up in London in a large family, she at times felt somewhat left out. She was in a well-to-do family attending a private, conservative girls Grammar. However, she is never afraid to front her concerns to her Captain.
Lucy is good looking. She spends some amount of time on the holodeck running programs from her place of origin and poetry and literature programs. Lucy is also single.

Operations : Lt James Amutu
One of the more native members of the crew. As a child, he grew up in the Maori resistance force against the New Zealand Extremists who are former factions of the New Zealand Government who believe that the Maori’s are criminals and aren’t entitle to the rights of humans.
He lived in very authentic conditions and very little technology and is quite hesitant of it on board, although he uses it with astounding ability. In physical conflict, he prefers to use weapons as a last resort.
James is tall, black and bald. He has family back on earth, a wife and two children aged between 6 and 10. He is in his fifties. He’s broad shouldered, he’s big, but not fat.
He spends much of his time in his quarters true to his religion, he has set up a shrine so he can pray and meditate for both the well-being of his family and the crew of the ship. He is very wise, a bit like the Tuvok of the crew but more spiritual and less dry and dull like a Vulcan.

Tactical: Lt Cmdr Dani Eales
Dani is a very bold girl. She’s in her mid twenties. She’s tall with long blonde hair and isn’t afraid to use weapons. In fact, she loves confrontation and believes diplomacy is a futile regime. She is hot headed at times. She has a very tight and tone body with fairly large breasts and a very tight bottom. She only uses two programs in the holodeck; The battle simulator for hand to hand combat and an exercise program for work out and toning of her body.
She grew up in America in the harsh suburbs of Harlem, hence why she’s so stubborn from the nature of her environment. After this she joined the special forces unit against terrorism, her performance was so spectacular that she was offered a position into Starfleet. Having said she was in an anti-terrorist division, her relations with James Amutu and Ma’l Davis are tense since they were terrorists to some degree. However all round, she interacts and relates to the crew with difficulty and lacks social skills. Throughout the series, she will need to adapt from her tense, harsh pose to a good-natured woman, however, this won’t be entirely a success.
Other than using the holodeck when off duty, she reads in her spare time, but mostly focus’s on her fitness and body line. Also, when not wearing the uniform and off duty, she wears tight tank tops (like singlets, sleeveless tops basically). Dani is single and extremely good looking. In fact, the only thing preventing her from being intimate with crew-members is her stoic pose.

Helm: Ens Ma’l Davis (Bajoran)
After fighting the resistance against the relentless Cardassian forces, Davis’s swift and evasive piloting abilities had proven to be more than worthy. Like all Starfleet officers, he went through Starfleet to gain his ranking and position on the ship.
Since he was a child he was bought up to resist against the Cardassians. He lost his mother and father when he was young and as a result, a care taker parented Davis. Davis is very understanding and approachable. He is very worthy of social skills and knows which attitude to be equip with and knows when to use them.
Davis is of medium height, dark hair and fair skin. Now in his mid thirties, he has been in many relationships and out again. He isn’t too keen on having an intimate relationship with a woman but gives in when approached by one.

Doctor: Dr E’lana Mervok (Vulcan)
The Doctor was found enroute to the Delta Quadrant and in the first mission serves as a source of information for what may lye ahead. She is wanting to take refuge on the ship for political reasons. The Government had released a Ku on its people. Since we don’t see much of home during the Voyager era, it should be easy to slip into the time line.
Since the EMH was sabotaged which resulted in a violent struggle in the first mission, he was deleted and with her medical skills, E’lana took his place. E’lana is quite a rare Vulcan. She is very unusual and has strange practices in medicine and treatment. Although she has the characteristics of a Vulcan, she is very easy to talk to, but very fussy and pedantic when it comes to a crew members health and avoids the easy way out.
Mervok is married but lost track of her husband after fleeing her home planet. She still searches for him as much as she can. In the first season, this will be a problem as she will experience Pon Pharr. For this character, I’m just going to make her a very approachable T’pol. She even looks and dresses like T’pol.

Chief Engineer: Lt Daniel Sheridan
American, aged 29, very relaxed and tends to “go with the flow” so to speak. He had a fairly ordinary childhood and had a pretty smooth run without trouble. He is also very charming. He always finds a woman hard to resist but makes a dag of himself when in conversation with one.
Daniel is tall, skinny with dark hair. He tends to conform a fair bit and doesn’t offer his opinion or view to a topic too often.
On board U.S.S Supernova he keeps to him self and is rather quite but due to his niceness to all, people tend to obey what he says better and he has an amazing ability to do organize the Engineering staff and get things done, in under the time.

A very unusual crew indeed, but worthy of the experiment. The first episode is titled
"Exata Gateway". Rated PG: Low level violence and adult themes.

Enjoy!

Prologue

They were all dead, empty, just a hollow casing drifting in the midst of space. Not a sound was echoed throughout these ships. It was quiet. They had once been functioning with a live crew, but now all that remained was a killing ground of ships that was stripped of its components and crew. They were in their hundreds. Adrift with no activity. It was strange though, this part of space was the opening to the Delta Quadrant. It was the Delta Quadrant, just sitting at the footstep of the Exata Wormhole. To get there, it would require hours of journeying through Romulan territory. But once on the other side, a darkness lingered. An incomprehensible evil that was unstoppable, from the inside however, it was splitting at the seams.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, the Exata split open as a vortex with it’s passenger coming out of it. It was a Klingon Bird of Prey. Slowly it headed away from the Wormhole and drifted toward the Starship graveyard that lay before it.
The ship lowered its shields and stood down red alert. It completed various scans of the ships, in hope to salvage whatever pieces they could acquire. But no luck. Had the Journey been a waste of time? Surely, a Klingon wasn’t here on exploration. Klingons have been known to battle and salvage, but explore and get into contact with new civilisation? That was a Vulcan regime.
Out of nowhere, a Borg cube decloked, exposing it’s grotesque frame and arming itself to take no prisoners. It hailed the Bird of Prey.
“We are the Borg. Surrender yourselves. You will be assimilated, resistance is futile.”
Immediately, the Bird of Prey armed its shields and weapons and opened fire upon the great cube. Resistance was futile, but Klingons never gave in without a fight. The Klingon ship targeted the shield array of the cube and fired 2 photon torpedo’s, but no luck. They then fired everything they had at the cube, the Bird of Prey was going fast too, it didn’t just stand there, it got closer to the Borg cube. Passing over it, they bombarded it with torpedos, but suddenly, they got caught in a trackter beam, their ship was sucked into the cube to be assimilated. That was their introduction to the Delta Quadrant.

Chapter 1

The sun shone down upon the earth with focused warmth with a clear blue sky, not a cloud to be seen. Officers walking through the grounds decorated with trees cut into structures gave the gardens character and its touch of green. Uniformed officers walked about the gardens, gossiping and laughing with the occasional student running to get to a lecture or some running to get out. This is where Thomas Tucker would have liked to have been. Out in the open, the fresh air and sunlight with the birds was a heartbreak to not be part of. Most of all, he was looking forward to being up and above the sky, the final frontier.
“It’s an akira class ship. Commissioned only two years ago. USS Supernova. Consists of 14 decks, the saucer section of the ship is detachable from it’s nececelles in emergency situations. The sickbay is equip with an EMH so recruiting a medical officer.” Admiral Cartel was only to proud to be pointing out the features of this new ship that had been in the works for such a long period of time. He had been longing to pass the command of the ship down to Captain Thomas Tucker for all the hard yards he had endured over the years.
“An EMH? In my opinion, I wouldn’t consider them to be reliable. If you don’t mind, I’d like to recruit a medical officer. Technology cannot replace medical experience that a human has. ” Captain Tucker objected trying to sound suggestive rather than ungrateful. On the other hand, he felt quite the part in uniform with the pips representing he was captain on his neck.
They both sat opposite one another with a large board table between them. On the table, was a detailed 3D mini-scale hologram of the ship. The boardroom was large, overlooking the gardens at Starfleet Academy. Sitting in front of the window was Commander Irvine, the designer of the ship.
“ Believe me, the latest versions of the EMH have been updated and reprogrammed, it hasn’t been done at half mast. Isn’t that right, commander Irvine?” Cartel asked.
The Commanders red hair glistened in the sunlight with a matching grin.
“Of course, Admiral. We’ve re-vitalised this ship as much as possible. We think it’s our best. Although, some argue it’s like an Akira Voyager.” Irvine said.
As soon as Commander Irvine said this; an expression overcame Admiral Cartel, suddenly, from the helpful, easy-going admiral, he came serious.
“You do realise, this is big. The only way you got here was through hard work.” Cartel reminded him.
“Yeah, I know, what are you getting at?” asked Tucker.
“I just want you to keep a level head out there, this mission comes from the top, I told them I’d assign the best for the mission.”
In disgust, Thomas leaned forward in his chair and said “What do you take me for? Do you think I’m some kind of renegade looking for trouble? Don’t let my father influence how you look over my shoulder, you gather the facts and decide for yourself what’s real and what’s not.”
“With all due respect, you’re in no position to be telling me what to do, Captain. Remember, you got this job through hard work and my observations. If it were anyone else evaluating your progress, you may never have made it.”
“I find that hard to believe. Like you said, I worked hard and I intend to keep that record.”
“But you’ve been known to break the rules, Thomas. I think you know that. But let’s not start off on a negative vibe, shall we? I’m willing to wipe the slate clean for you, you’re father was a good man.”
“Well, thank-you. But lets get back to business, my crew.”
“You will get to meet your crew soon. I want to tell you about your mission. Come with me.” Cartel said as he stood up, Thomas followed.
“Before Tucker and Cartel departed, Commander Irvine added in a few last words. “I don’t mean to be rude, but I have business to attend to. Captain, it’s been a pleasure, I hope Supernova brings you everything you’ve wanted in commanding a ship.” Commander Irvine shook the Captain’s hand and left.
The corridors weren’t really that much different of the interior of a ship, all that was different was a view of a garden as appose to deep space. Tucker had no idea what he was in for, so far his day had consisted of one surprise after another. They continued walking, not uttering a word until they reached what appeared to be an astrometrics division of Starfleet. The doors hissed open and they followed in. It was large inside, everything was. There large screens for maps and diagnostics and many computer panels. It was busy with officers walking around and comparing notes and processing data into the systems in order to achieve reliable results.
“By now, you would know that the USS Voyager has been missing for six years. In here, we’ve been running an operation known as ‘Pathfinder’, we basically want to get Voyager home.” Carter informed Thomas.
Carter guided Thomas over to a large screen, before it was a touch console, Carter touched the console and bought up a map of the Delta Quadrant on the screen.
“The last transmission we had from them, they were here” A red dot marked their previous location. “Now they told us they would be heading 98 degrees and would contact us if their plans had changed. So far, we estimate them to be here” Carter said as he marked out their current position.
“There’s no way we can catch up with them. It’s impossible.” Thomas debated.
“Not necessarily. We have found a Wormhole known as “The Exata Wormhole”. It is believed it can take your ship not far off where Voyager is. Now from our studies, the worm hole opens every thirty-six hours, which is why you’re leaving tomorrow. The only problem is, that it is located here.” Carter tapped the console and bought up an area of space that he knew would make somebody like Captain Tucker want to withdraw.
“Romulan space? Are you crazy, we’ll be killed!!!” Tucker exclaimed.
“We have customised your ship to suit battle conditions, it’s armed to the teeth. However, we have found a route that avoids the Romulan patrols of the Romulan planets or cruisers.”
“It’s still far too risky. There’s no telling what’s at the other side the Wormhole.”
“Well here’s another thing. Your tactical officer for this mission, Dani Eales. Have you heard of her?”
“No, I can’t say I have.”
“Believe me, she loves battle. She’s prepared for anything, she’s served in anti-terrorist forces and on various ships. She knows her stuff.”
“I didn’t think this was an action-orientated mission, Admiral.”
“It isn’t, like I said, we are trying to avoid detection, it’s our only hope of getting Voyager back. Voyager is out of contact range. God forbid that anything catastrophic happens out there, Lieutenant Eales will prove to be a worthy asset to your crew. Lieutenant Eales is in the obstacle course, level three. It’s in your best interests to acquaint yourself. She is a member of your crew after all.”
“All right, I’ll do it, just as long the other crew members know what they’re in for.”
Thomas walked out in disbelief about the mission he was to embark on. But at the same time, if he achieved it, he could really make something out of it. Nevertheless, it was going to be long mission.

She had turned up the heat in the obstacle course to really test her ability. It made her sweat, but it didn’t stop her. In fact, the more sweat she had, the better her performance.
Dani pulled herself up over the wall and leaped off it, falling into a stack of gym mats. Time was getting ahead of her, gripping onto the rope, she swung to the platform opposite her, then running as hard as she could. The next obstacle was a rope ladder, no big deal, she climbed it and took another rope and swung over a pool over water hitting the platform that lay before it.
She stripped off her outer jacket, leaving a tight, sweaty tank top as her upper garment. She was trained, prepared for the worse, her tone of body proven it. She had a tight bottom, big breasts and a stomach that looked like a cage of steel. Her blonde hair stopped just on her shoulders which was full of sweat. As for her arms, well, they were well kept too, she was strong. It was her upbringing that did this. Being brought up in a rough neighbourhood with a family hardly there to support her, Dani almost had to help herself at times. She wasn’t always this bold, no, it’s fear that made her strong, it’s what didn’t kill her.
Stripping off her tank top, she left her upper body dressed with a sports bra, she leant down, rolled up the legs of her pants and unzipped the boots that stopped above her calves, throwing them off and then her pants, she was wearing a sports bra and shorts suitable for swimming. She took a dive and the sweat rolled off hot, pulsating body. She could feel her body cooling down from the water, it was a relief. What Dani didn’t realise is, she had a live spectator, her Captain.
In the water, her hair swayed in the water uncontrollably from how fast she was swimming. Captain Tucker stood in front of the pool waiting for her. She came to the surface looking up at the Captain.
“So you’re my tactical adviser?” Captain asked.
“Yes, that’s right. USS Supernova. Hang on minute, I’ll climb out.” Dani said as she swam over to the ladder and lifted herself out of the water. He body looked even better wet, water streamed down her toned parts, she shook her hair and picked up a towel. She wrapped herself in the towel to meet her Captain.
“Captain Thomas Tucker.” He extended his hand. She shook it in return leaving the Captain with a wet hand. He wiped the moisture off his trouser leg. “Sorry” she said. “At least I know where you’re been.” He continued. “We leave for Deep Space Nine tomorrow, then we take off for our first mission. Voyager; never thought I would have the honour.”
“So am I. It will be interesting to see if the crew have survived after all this time”
“I’m in very good faith that they are. Captain Janeway wouldn’t go down without a fight, and when she’s in a fight, the odds are very quickly tipped in her favour.”
“If you don’t mind me saying, that’s a bit naïve, but I suppose it’s always good to be optimistic.” She remarked.
“Absolutely. Optimism; the life support system of every ship and crew, in my opinion. Do you agree?”
“Yes and no. I think it also involves strength, courage and honour.”
“Remove the courage and I would have mistaken you for a Klingon.”
“Believe me, Captain, it’s only the lack of ridges that sets me apart from a Klingon.”
“And the looks.”
Dani was a little surprised by his boldness. “What exactly is that supposed to mean?” Dani wondered to herself.
“Well, I wouldn’t exactly pick you out as a hunter who feeds off blood.”
“Looks are only skin deep, Captain.”
“I hear you’re quite a soldier.”
“You could say that. I’ve been known to have a taste for action.” She remarked.
“I just want to say, I’m sure your abilities have allowed you to survive in many circumstances and your upbringing may have rendered you how you are, I don’t want any fireworks out there. I understand if we are in a hostile situation it’s your duty to defend the ship, but only with reasonable tactics.”
“I have to say we’re in disagreement, Captain. You see as far as I know, we’ll be travelling through Romulan space. Have you ever tried to negotiate with a Romulan in open conflict?”
“I understand our journey that’s been set out for us will have conflict, but we will do our best to avoid bloodshed.”
“Negotiation is a futile regime, Captain. Perhaps it’s a lack of negotiation that got Voyager stranded in the Delta Quadrant. I will work to the best of my ability” she stepped closer and Tucker could feel her warm breath on his face and she whispered in a cold tone. “If anybody threatens me with my life, I will defend myself.”
“Who do you think you’re talking to? How dare you speak to me in this manner. You can take your military pose and cram it! You’re on my ship and I suggest you learn to obey orders or else you’ll be back here chasing terrorists with phase rifles and grenades. Do you understand?”
“Yes, Sir. I look forward to a constructive relationship, now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to get changed.”
She walked back to the platform where she had dropped her clothes and picked them up and then draped her towel over her shoulder and went into the female change rooms. That thought of his mission being a long one struck him once again.

Thomas felt a sensation of release from the heat of the training course. The brief introduction to his Tactical officer hinted that their relationship wasn’t off to a promising start. He had hoped his tactical officer, along side with his first in command, could be the one he trusted most. So far, it wasn’t the case.
He knew that his first in command was also in the facility and knew exactly where to find her. He knew her well enough to know what she was doing, he served on a mission with her. It wasn’t the best of times but at least they were acquainted.
He followed the corridors in search for the holodeck. He found it and went in.

The theatre was empty, not a member of the audience to be seen. Sound was the element that generated her nerves as she recited the speech at Caesars funeral. Lucy Beckanim loved theatre, if she could have, she’d making a living out of it, but to get half-famous was cutthroat. She was wearing very royal type clothing, appropriately suited for the theme, with a scroll in her hand. Her voice filled the holographic forum, it hit the back walls, he facial expression and use of her hands was great. Her eyes were filled with an inconceivable energy that no-one could comprehend.
As if he were a backstage clerk, he wandered on stage putting his hands together for Lucy.
“I would have thought a brave girl like you would at least have a holographic audience.” Thomas said.
A smile grew on Lucy’s face, the type you’d see on a six-year old Christmas morning who had just been given a train set but the fictitious Santa Claus. “How long has it been?” Lucy asked as they hugged in a very reunionistic manner. “You look so good.”
“I can say the same about you. I can’t decide what’s more beautiful from your face or voice” There was then a silence after the Captain said that. It was like the absence of a kiss. Instead, their eyes did all the talking.
Lucy looked away first toward her feet and opened up again. “So we head off tomorrow?”
“Yes. I imagine that you are somewhat exuberant.”
From here, she then faced her fictitious audience and her voice lowered somewhat. “I don’t know what I feel. I mean, it’s great we get to explore a new region of space, but when you think what this mission stands for, to find a missing crew, you can’t help it anticipate the worst.”
“Well nothing suggests they have perished, after all, Starfleet has had some communications and signs from Voyager themselves that they are alive.”
“Maybe it will be ok. I was hoping for a mission based in my home galaxy, not some obscure wilderness that many die before they have the chance to tell the story.”
“Lucy, look at me. Remember when we had to work together and I was in charge, I didn’t let the Cardassians get the better of us. Sure, it was scary, but we got through it, we fought as a team, nothing will be different. I won’t give up.”
“That’s very reassuring, Captain, but it’s not enough to ease my nerves.”
“Don’t be nervous.”
“I’ll try.”
“Anyway, it’s been good meeting you once again. We’ll catch up on Deep Space Nine. I’m glad to have you on my crew, Lucy. I’m not just saying that. I’ll be needing someone like you.”
Lucy then turned back to her Captain. The compliment was enlightening, very inspirational and made her feel needed, it drove her on and gave her a purpose to wear the uniform.
“Thank-you, Captain. I hope I’m of some help out there.”
“You’ll do fine. See you on the other end.”
And it was those words that marked the end of such a positive re-acquainting. Thomas headed for the door of the turbo lift, their loud, distinct industrial sound loomed behind him.
There was still more for the Captain to do while on earth. Family to visit, old collegues and friends. His morning wasn’t entirely a depressing start. Not all first impressions are the last- so he hoped.

Chapter 2

It was like a large metal spider decorated with Starfleet vessels. One imparticular had Lt James Amutu’s interest from his seat in the shuttle craft. It was the Akira Class ship he was destined to work on. This was the moment he was waiting for. As Captain Tucker did, he had worked increadably hard to get to this point. His record had held him back against the anti-Maori factions of the former New Zealand Government. The struggle had gone on for centuries with a philosophy dating back many centuries. Although the world was socialist, it still didn’t stop disapproved terrorists with different belief’s to socialist regime to having their say. There were many groups who didn’t approve of the Maori’s. Terrorism was prominent, obviously it had decreased since the world was socialist, there was still trouble. Deprived places like poverty stricken towns still existed.
James was black, a tall man and bald. He was a divergent thinker, wasn’t a great user of technology. He had his plans up top, he knew where he was heading and what he needed to do to survive his destination. James was middle aged with family back at home, wife and two children. Between his fingers were a set of religious beads. In his head, he was praying for his family and the well-being of the future crew.
“There she is” James whispered to himself. The pilot briefly glanced at him.
“Did you say something, Sir.” The ensign said.
“No, just admiring the view.” James replied.
“Is this your first time serving on a ship?”
“Good god no, I only wish I were that young.”
The ship’s size was growing and Deep Space Nine could almost be touched. James never liked Deep Space Nine though. He always felt it was the centre for interplanetary corruption. It attracted all kinds, Klingons, Ferenghi, Human, Bajorans and Vulcans. It was a very vivid place to be.
“This is shuttle craft Andora requesting permission to Dock.” The Ensign asked.
The comm. System was pretty dated. There were crackles in the voices and picked up much of the background noise.
“Shuttle craft Andora, permission granted. Do you require assistance with luggage or directions?” the voice from Deep Space Nine asked.
“No, Sir, that shouldn’t be a problem. Thank-you.”
The Ensign tapped his console, drifting the shuttle closer to the docking ring. There was a slight bump followed by the usual sounds of docking clamps locking into the shuttle.
James stood up almost too eagerly. He legs were tired and so was he. Most of all, he wanted to be on the Supernova.
“Sir, can I help you with anything?” asked the Ensign.
“No, I should be fine, although if you could escort me to the lower promenade?”
“This way, Sir.” The Ensign prompted.

USS Supernova was free from activity. No crew members to be seen. This gave the ship a nice, clean feel to it. The air was clean, the floor was in good condition and the doors had never been opened. It was a dream ship. Except, there was an exception. There was one occupant on this ship. Hidden like a rodent in an alley way in the Jeffries Tube, he crawled his way out into engineering.
Cmdr Irvine was his name. He was in his fifties, had been in the game for some time now. Irvine had been an exceptional asset to Starfleet. He commanded ships, lectured at Starfleet and even helped build the ship. He was conservative too, always making sure his family members were in line. Not one thing would go unnoticed by him. He was so switched on, oh he was aware.
He liked the design of the Engineering. It was simular to that of Voyager’s, some would argue it was a replica. But it had it’s differences. First of all, surrounding the Warp Core, instead of just a computer console, there was a set of metallic scaffolding surrounding it with consoles on the railings. Much like a spiral staircase surrounding it. Down beneath, the computers were state of the art. A much more updated LCARS interface. Everything else belonged to the Engineering of Voyager though. It was amazing how controversial the disappearance of Voyager was, even those who felt strongly about it designed the ship as it was on Voyager. It made Irvine sick as he dismissed it as an unhealthy obsession.
He left engineering, wandering the corridors, absorbing the freshness of this ship. The turbo lift was also a mercifully shorter ride than most other turbo-lifts and quiet too. This ship was a very different one.
Getting off the turbo lift, he heads for sickbay. The sickbay was dressed with all the regular trimmings. Examination beds, Doctor’s office and medical tools and replicators. However it did have one additional feature that many other sickbays didn’t have. It was an operations lab toward the back of the sickbay. Its use is for the more messier operations that the Doctor would need to deal with, away from the public eye in sickbay. It is sealed off by two large metallic, sound proof doors. Since the struggles with the Borg, Dominion and Cardassians, sick bays have seen all forms of injuries.
After looking around the sickbay, Irvine got down to business. What he was about to do gave him second thoughts. Starfleet were the people who gave him what he had, to do such an act of sabotage was be a great dishonour and highly discrediting on his account. But it was for a cause he believed in. After they had told him everything and had given him advice, both intangible and tangible, he was sold. It suddenly made so much sense. For anyone to back out at this point would be cowardly.
“Computer, activate Emergency Medical Hologram” prompted Cmdr Irvine.
The Zimmerman image appeared before him.
“Please state the nature of the medical emergency” the EMH said in what seemed to be a very rehearsed fashion.
“There is none, Doctor. This is your first big day.”
“I’m sorry but I don’t seem to comply “first big day”. My programming syntax has ordered me to treat each day as seriously as the current one.”
Irvine sighed in annoyance. The default settings of the EMH’s drove him up the wall.
“Relax, I’m here to update your skill database. Just a few changes, that’s all.”
“May I ask what these upgrades comprise of?” the Doctor followed Irvine over to a console on the wall that held the Doctor’s schematics, although the Doctor kept badgering him, Irvine ignored. The console beeped, it seemed to lock out his commands. Nevertheless, he could get in. He did it. The commands were loaded in. He then turned to the Doctor and said “Computer, apply new settings and refresh syntax’s now.”
The Doctors programmed flickered and then back to normal.
“You have your orders, use any means necessary to execute them, do I make myself clear?”
“Perfectly, Sir.” The Doctor complied as a killers smile grew over his face.
“Computer, deactivate Emergency Medical Hologram”.
Irvine had just created a potential disaster for the crew of the ship. At first, he hadn’t actually realized what he had done, but it was done and if he was caught, he’d burn up whatever currencies of survival he ever had. Irvine had now crossed the line. He was with them. But who they were remained a mystery, they were underground and those who knew about the group were with them.

Chapter 3

Lieutenant’s Dani Eales and James Amutu were already at their stations. They had exchanged glances but mostly only said a very brief “hello”.
The bridge was fairly big. The turbo lift was positioned in the middle of Dani’s post and James’s post. If facing the viewscreen, to the left would be James’s station, following that around the wall were more consoles and screens, the same applied for Dani’s side. After these consoles and computers, on James’s side, was the Captain’s ready room.
On Dani’s side after the screens, was the operations room for the senior staff to gather for mission briefing. After the briefing room were more monitors as the same for the other side of the bridge with the Captain’s ready room.
In the middle, were three comfortable seats. In the middle was the captains, to his right was his first in command and to the left would be the observer, but he didn’t have one on this crew. Each seat had 2 arm rests.
In front of this, would be the con officer’s area to pilot the ship with the viewscreen sitting before the con officer.
“Is this your first duty on a Starship then?” asked James.
“Yes, it is, a change from the anti-terrorist forces.” Responded Dani.
“That’s some background. It will take some degree of adapting I would imagine. How are you finding the switch?”
“Well, it’s more formal than what I was used to, but I guess I saw more of a future here than I did fighting terrorists.”
The doors of the turbolift hissed open. Captain Thomas tucker made his entrance. Dani or James just thought of him as another crew member, but looking closely at his pips, he was more than the average crew member, he was the Captain.
“Captain on the bridge.” James said as a smile grew on his face.
“Captain Thomas Tucker. You must be my operations officer, Lieutenant Amutu?” Thomas said as he shook his hand.
“That’s right, Captain.” James confirmed.
“Lieutenant Eales, again, it’s a pleasure. I’m sorry to cut this short, but I have a few things to organise in my ready room. Nevertheless, if you need something, just knock.”
“Yes, Sir.” Eales and Amutu responded.

The Captain’s ready room had been furnished just to his liking. As the door opened, he saw his desk with his computer all set up. To the right of the desk was a replicator and a few paintings. Although he would have liked a replicator directly behind his desk, he didn’t want to complain. To the far left of his desk, was a large space set with a large coffee table and four chairs surrounding it with a view out to space. It nicely blended in with the room’s décor. In fact, it was nicely rounded off with 3 steps to get to the coffee table. The set was pretty much on a small split level. Surrounding it, was glass.
Thomas sat in his chair behind his desk. He assumed this spot, the flag had been pinned down, it was his personal space. Sorting through the computer files, it had an up-to-date LCARS database complete with communication capabilities.

“Errr, yuck. The cream hasn’t been blended in property. It’s all stuck at the bottom of the cup. How specific do I need to be when presenting the replicator with a request for a cup of Italian coffee with cream? Am I that in-coherent?” those were the words of Ma’l Davis, perfectionist who wanted everything perfect. As he spoke, he scooped the cream out with a spoon. At least the replicators in the mess-hall of the ship provided decent cutlery.
Activity in the mess-hall was running rampant. People re-acquainting themselves with each other or just simply admiring the view through the window which ran from wall to wall.
“I guess it could be that, or you’re just expecting too much. Replicator’s aren’t magic you know. You should actually replicate the coffee and cream separately so you can blend it in yourself.” Responded Daniel Sheridan who was sitting on the other end of the table with a hot bowel of chicken soup.
“Oh come on, how long have these things been around for? Since the first Enterprise? By now you’d hope they have pretty well perfect.”
“Well the coffee itself smells ok. It has the aroma. I think the only fault here is that the replicator may not be familiar with your recipe.”
“Perhaps. So, you’re the engineer. Chief of engineering I should say. You certainly do have a burden of responsibility on your shoulders.”
“Well, after all these years of study, I’d hope to be somewhere with a certain responsibility. After all, I have support staff. I mean, as a con officer, you hold a great deal of responsibility too.” Proclaimed Daniel.
“I admit, I am nervous. But I’m sure those bugs will go away. I’ve been looking forward to this moment.”
“You have lots ahead of you. I mean, you’re a Bajoran who is an ex-terrorist against the Cardassian forces. You fought battles and I’m sure the renegade is still in your blood. With that, fitting in is going to be a challenge also. But I’ll be more than glad to assist there.”
“I fought the Cardassians because I looked good and hard for what they stood for. It made me angry what they were doing to my people. I was only standing up for my rights, something I believe in, if people don’t trust me because of my background and can’t see the reasons for it, then I pity their blindness.”
“I never made you out to be some dumb, common terrorist.”
“Well, you did call me a renegade.”
“Renegade isn’t necessarily derogatory.”
“Look, I don’t mean to slaughter the conversation, but, can we talk about something else. There are things I regret doing and I’m not ready to re-visit them as of yet.”
“It’s alright, I wasn’t going to get personal. But aside from all the duties, how did you find it farewelling family and friends?”
“Well, friends aren’t a problem, sure, we’re close but they’re not always going to be there for you. As for family, well, my older folks aren’t here for obvious reasons, and I’ve been in two relationships, no need to retrace the past there. Yourself?”
“Well, relationship wise, I’m single. But as for family, that’s pretty big. They all had a farewell party in honour of my departure. I’m going to miss them.”
“You’ll miss them? That’s good. It shows a real appreciation to family. No matter what, family are the most important above everything.”
“Good morning, this is Captain Tucker to all crew, could you please forward to your stations, we are set to take off shortly, thank-you.” The message relayed over the intercom system. It was time for the curtain to open on this drama.

The bridge had now filled with crew operating their stations. Even the consoles along the walls were being occupied. Ensign Davis took his seat at the con. Commander Beckanim looked around the bridge, ready more than ever for the mission. The Captain’s ready room door hissed open. He stood in front of his chair on the bridge.
“Captain on the bridge” Commander Beckanim said as the crew stood to his attention.
“Thank-you number one. Well good morning to you all. This voyage marks the beginning of many things to come. As a new crew on a new ship, we are set to cross a new threshold in search of the USS Voyager. Just as I am, I hope you’re all honoured to be taking this mission and most of all, to be a crew of the USS Supernova. Starfleet is satisfied with this fine crew and so am I. It goes without saying, when I meet Captain Janeway for the first time, she will be pleased with our efforts also. So without further delay, let the odyssey begin. Ensign Davis, when you’re ready, take us out slowly and set course for the Exata Wormhole.” This brave, patriotic speech delivered by the Captain followed by a thunderous clapping. The crew returned to their stations, Ensign Davis took at seat.
Ma’l started tapping his console, setting destination and speed. The thought of travelling through Romulan space sent a shiver up his spine, as it did for the other crew members. At Ma’l’s fingertips, the Akira class ship slowly disconnected itself from the docking ring of Deep Space Nine drifting away.
“Captain, we’re at a considerable distance from Deep Space Nine. Course layed in, Sir.” Reported Ensign Davis.
“Set speed for warp 5.2. Engage.” Executed the Captain as he sat down.
A few more taps of the console by Ensign Davis and the ship was away.

Engineering had a busy morning needed to prepare the ship for what was to be ahead. Lieutenant Sheridan fussed around the floor of engineering, checking up on things. Climbing up the scaffolding staircase surrounding the warp core, he checked that power was being regulated throughout the ship, tapping consoles here and there.
“Sir, I was wondering, I’ve needed to replace a coupling on one of the consoles below, the thing is, it could just blow again, the one that blew looks very new.” Said one of his engineering officers.
“I recommend you check the power allocation. It could be overloading, Ensign.” Suggested Lieutenant Sheridan.
“Understood, Sir,” said the Ensign.
Daniel climbed to the top of the scaffolding overlooking the entire work force of engineers. He was like the king of the throne. He was a proud engineer. What threw him off though was a few crew members wheeling containers of weapons to stations. There were a few weapons, almost like they were preparing for a war. But they were order that the Captain made Daniel aware of, so he couldn’t complain. A few things worried him about this. Firstly, just how dangerous wast he mission going to get? Maybe the Captain was very protective of his crew. Secondly, the last thing Daniel wanted to deal with was a few loose triggers in his staff.

Captains Log: Well I’ve met with some of the senior officers whilst on board and I’m confident that this crew has a future. I still worry about the irrational decisions Lieutenant Eales might make in the heat of fire, but for now I’m just going to throw all caution to the wind.
Currently, we’re heading for Romulan Space on the co-ordinants that Starfleet gave us. The part we’re entering is very out of the way and very low-key. We can’t be too careful though, we should prepare for anything, I have security teams working around the clock for any unforseen consequences that lye ahead. End log.

The padd on Thomas’s desk was filled from border to border with information of the territory of space that him and his crew were venturing into. Apparently, there is very little activity there, along the way, they shouldn’t encounter any star systems, it’s a dead zone.
The chimes of the door rang.
”Come in.” Thomas prompted.
Lucy Beckanim, his first officer walked in and took a seat.
“Captain, do we have time to talk?” asked Lucy.
“Yes, what seems to be on your mind?”
“Well, it’s just…I’m still feeling uncomfortable about this mission. I just sense that the closer we get to Romulan space, the closer we’re bound for disaster.”
“Lucy, I know this mission is hard, but, you’ll need to hold up. You’re on the same ship as everyone else. But I’m here for when you want to talk.”
“Thank-you, Captain. Maybe it’s just my sheltered upbringing. I never was exposed to any harmful, I didn’t have any fears. Now that I’m out in the wilderness, I can’t help it feel alone. I feel cold, lonely.”
“Lucy, like I said, we’re in this together, we need to help on another.”
“Ensign Davis to Captain Tucker.” Said Ma’l in Thomas’s communicator.
“Yes, Ensign?”
“We’ve arrived in Romulan space.”
“Proceed, Ensign, I’m coming out.”
A shiver just ran up Lucy’s spine. Was this the beginning of the end? The time had come to find out.

Thomas made his appearance on the bridge. “Report”.
“I’m detecting a few ships in the area, but they haven’t found us yet, not one of them are closing in on our position.” Reported Dani.

Chapter 4

“Currently pursuing course at warp 6.8, Captain.” Lieutenant Davis said.
“Excellent. Maintain course and hold speed. Don’t forget to-” Captain Tucker was cut off by a violent tremor in the ship that almost set him flying off his chair. It certainly gave Lucy the shock of her life. James almost fell from his post.
“Report!” the Captain requested in a panic.
“Captain, we’ve been by Romulan phase fire. Deck eight has been severely damged.” James said.
“Red, Alert, shields at maximum” said Tucker.
The shields were raised on the Supernova, but the Romulans took another hit, shaking he federation ship. The Supernova began to swerve out of the direction of the fire but continually got hit.
“Lieutenant Eales, open fire on the Romulan Warbird, torpedo’s, maximum spread.”
Six torpedo’s in a line fired toward the Warbird hitting its aft section, the Warbird turned on an angle and fired three green torpedo’s toward Supernova damaging it’s upper shields.
Sparks began to fly off consoles and a pipe exploded behind the walls, leaking smoke onto the bridge. From nowhere, a chair sky rocketed and hit the ceiling, leaking more smoke into the bridge area. More of the Romulan’s torpedo’s sliced into the Supernova’s shielding and the ships tremor was worse again.
“I don’t know how much more we’ll survive, Captain.” Lt Amumu said.
“Open a channel immediately!” ordered Thomas.
From the attack, the viewscreen flickered a little, but the Supernova’s tremor stopped. It seemed as though the Romulan’s were ready to negotiate somewhat. A humanoid representing what seemed to be the Captain of the ship was on the viewscreen.
“You are trespassing Romulan space. What is the purpose of this?”
Something just struck the Captain. If he was going to share with them their business, it could compromise everything and make things worse, not only for the Supernova, but for Voyager too. Thomas took a punt, a dangerous one.
“I’m afraid I am not obliged to share that with you.” He said.
‘I beg your pardon.” The Romulan replied in sheer disgust.
“I just told you. I know it’s strange, but I’ll be willing to negotiate a deal with you so we can get out of this mess.”
The Romulan could do nothing but burst out laughing. “Who are you to be telling us what to do in our own territory?”

In engineering, it was chaotic. The systems were going berserk, the fluctuations were uncontrollable. Daniel couldn’t keep track of any of it. It was too much too handle. He yelled an instruction to one of his officers. “Reduce power on these conduits, it’s about to blow!!!”
It was a desperate time. The ship rocked again, he fell to the ground, most of the other officers had a console to grip onto. Daniel got to his feet, walked over to a console on the wall and read it. Something wasn’t right, systems were still overloading. In fact, the one he was looking at was overcharging. It was going to blow. Immediately, he turned away as fast as he could, just as he raised his leg to run, the console blew, the blast captured his leg thrusting him on the floor, he gave out a scream of pain. “AHHHHHHHHHHHH”
A female officer approached him, leant down and tapped her comm. Badge. “Medical emergency, Engineering.”

The Supernova thrust more torpedo’s at the Romulan ship, then fired more streams of phasers. It dodged the Romulan fire quite well, occasionally catching some of it on the outskirts of its shields. The Supernova persisted, eventually weakening their Aft shields. Now the tables were turning and the Romulan ship was receiving significant damage.
“Captain, we’ve disabled their targeting system.” Lt Eales announced.
“Excellent. Is propulsion back online?”
“Yes, Sir.” Said Ensign Davis.
“Take us out of here, Ensign. Maximum warp.”
The Supernova charged its nacelles and went into warp. It was gone.

In sickbay, Daniel was propped onto an examination bed. The female officer who helped him up there was still with him. In fact, he had just arrived. She grabbed a medical tricorder and scanned over his leg.
“I’m reading torn ligaments, tissue damage…” she continued reading out all these problems with his knee, but Thomas wasn’t listening. All he could see was an open lump of flesh in all its bloody awe. The pain was unbearable. She injected him with a hypospray to at least kill the pain temporarily.
She then put the hypospray down on the table and said “Computer, activate Emergency Holographic Program.” The Zimmerman program appeared. It was strange though, he didn’t say anything. He just looked at the female officer and reached for her throat.
She was taken by surprise, she tried to break his arms away but it was too hard, he threw her to the ground. The Doctor then headed for his office, reaching on his desk for his mobile emitter, he pinned it on his right arm, then left the sickbay, leaving the female officer astonished as he marched down the hallway to the turbo-lift.

Thomas sat comfortably in his chair, feeling relieved from the events that just past, a battle was won, back on track to the task at hand. He was still angry at the encounter, but nobody could expect a perfect result, especially when travelling in enemy space. After all, it could get a whole lot worse. Then his comm. Badge was talking to him.
“Ensign Hughes to Captain Tucker, please respond.”
He tapped his comm. Badge. “Tucker here.”
“Captain, I’ve had to send Lt Sheridan sickbay, he’s sustained quite an injury to his leg.”
“Does the Doctor think he’s going to be ok?”
“Uhhh, that’s the thing. Captain, I activated the Doctor and he assaulted me.”
The Captain rose from his chair, things just got worse. “What?”
“He grabbed me by the throat and threw me to the floor, took his mobile emitter and is somewhere in the corridors.”
“Did you try deactivating the program?”
“Yes. It seems as though something has overridden his program. The ship’s computers can’t even locate him. I also tried running a scan for holographic entities- no luck.”
“Alright, we’ll get underway. Ensign, I need you to get the word around without causing too much panic. Also, don’t leave Lt Sheridan unattended, get someone up there on the double. Can you do that?”
“Yes, Sir.”
“Good.”
The channel closed, he looked around to his bridge crew.
“Lt Eales and Lt Amutu, arm up. We’re going to find him, Cmdr Beckanim take command while I’m away.”
“Aye, Sir.” She responded.

Thomas, Dani and James wandered the corridors, phaser in hand set on medium. Thomas rang the chimes on the quarters left to him, he heard a voice.
“Come in.”
He reached in phaser before him.
“Are you alone?”
“What?” the occupant responded.
“We’re on the lookout for a hologram with an emitter on his arm. ARE YOU ALONE?” he spoke quickly but stressed the last few words.
“Yes.”
The doors closed shut, for the rest of the grey and blue coloured corridor, they continued the same process.
The corridoors were long and metallic in appearance. It was beginning to make Tucker dizzy from all the walking. Dani stabbed her foot into a door that belong to a crew members quarters repeatably. The door open, to the shock of the occupant, she pushed him out of the way, swinging her body around the room, straifing with her phaser at ready to find nothing.
Suddenly, Thomas’s comm. Badge spoke. “Captain, the hologram is in engineering.”
“We’re on our way.” He said. From the background, all that could be heard was phaser fire and screaming.

Thomas, Dani and James stormed into engineering. Everyone seemed to duck under or behind their posts. The crew members in hiding gestured quietly with their fingers as if to say ‘Up there, up there.’ Following around past the warp core, there stood the EMH. Immediately, he saw the Captain, before Tucker could say anything, he sprinted, phaser streams fired into the wall and a console exploded. The EMH climbed a ladder, Lt Eales followed.
“Dani, wait.” Tucker said. But it was too late, she had already followed the EMH up the ladder. From her point of view, he was nowhere to be seen. Dani was struck on the back by something cold and hard, a metal pipe, she staggered forward, swerving around with her phaser, firing above his head by accident and hitting a pipe which leaked smoke between them making it hard to see, Dani darted out of the way. The EMH seemed to posses a great deal of strength and speed, more than any human at that rate. It was almost superior to that of the humans.
James Amutu followed up the ladder, the EMH was right in front of him. He put his arms around his neck, but all the EMH did was throw him over his head. The EMH then struck James on the head with the pipe causing him to fall to the ground. To Dani’s amazement, the hologram ran up the walls and lunged upon her, wrestling her to the floor, he then rolled over in such a way that he was on top, he picked her up but the hair and kicked her in the ribs. His knee flexibility was indifferent. All he needed to do was raise his leg and direct his lower leg toward his target. Dani moaned in pain.
To the holograms surprise, a phaser was pressing hard against his temple.
”Lets see which source of light is faster now.” Tucker said as he fired the weapon and the EMH dematerialised.

The bruise on Dani’s belly was very dark, beyond purple standing out from her skin. Ensign Hughes ran the medical tricorder over the wounded area. Dani rolled her tank top down, put her long sleave skivvy on and slit her jacket back up.
“Just take it easy, the pain is gone and most of the damage is too, but you can’t be too careful.” Ensign Hughes said.
“I think I know what’s good for me, Ensign.” Dani said in a cold, blunt manner. She rolled her eyes and left sickbay.
Ensign Hughes noticed the Captain was standing behind her and she said “She’s got a chip on her shoulder then.”
“You could say that” he agreed.
“Lt Amutu should be fine, he’s a but knocked out, but he’ll be around soon. No major damage was done and any tissue damage can be repaired.”
“Good to hear. Thank-you for everything you’re doing, Ensign. I never realised you had medical experience.”
“I know the odd thing, just don’t put me on call.”
“I’ll do my best to get you some more help. How is Daniel holding up?”
They both walked over to him as he was lying down on the examination bed.
“I’ve administered heavy duty pain killers. He’s asleep now, but I want to look closer at his leg before any major work. I’ve cleaned up quite a degree of the mess. But there’s still work to be done. At least I have time to analyse it first. I can begin tertiary work soon.”
“Excellent, Ensign. I’m going to have a full investigation underway to see what caused this to happen.”

Chapter 5

The events leading up to this moment had left the Captain spellbound. So much had gone wrong just from take-off, they hadn’t even navigated the Wormhole yet, it was a wonder as to how the rest of the mission would go. Withdrawal was an option, regardless to what Starfleet wanted the Supernova for, it was all too much for the first mission. Captain Tucker sat in his chair that had been custom fitted for him, as it was on every other ship for every other Captain, all sizes great and small. After all, the bridge was to be his permanent working bench for some time.
He sat reading the padd his chief engineer, Daniel Sheridan had given him. It contained schematics parts that needed to be replaced. It was a very detailed damage report. It’s obvious Daniel went over the ramifications of the attacks with a fine tooth comb. He was a perfectionist. But the Captain was concerned for his injury and he wondered that perhaps he took his work a bit too seriously. But this fixation to the padd was severed, as he heard a beeping from Lt Amutu’s console.
“Report” he said waking up from the raw details on the padd.
“Captain, there is a Vulcan vessel on sensors. This could be a chance to gather some information on our destination. The ship has substantial damage. A trade for information might be in order” Announced James.
“Good suggestion.” Putting his padd down on the empty seat to his left, remembering his first officer was on his right. “On screen, Lieutenant”
Suddenly, from a blank vision of space, a young looking Vulcan female’s upper body filled the screen dressed in the standard Vulcan type clothing. From behind her, the ship looked damaged, smoke was leaking profusivly from a console behind her.
“I am Captain Tucker of the USS Supernova. We are on a mission of exploration, we are in search of the Exata Wormhole. We have the co-ordinates but can’t seem to find it. We’ve noticed your ship has received damage. We can assist with repairs. If you could help us, I’d be most grateful.”
“Captain, my name is E’lana Mervok. I can give you all the information you require on that Wormhole you are in search of, however my price is significantly higher than yours unfortunately. I want to seek refuge aboard your ship.” She said.
Thomas looked strait to his first officer in confusion. “Why would a Vulcan want asylum on a federation vessel?” He wondered to himself.
“Well I can’t just let strangers on board my ship, that could jeopardise the lives and safety of my crew. Do you mind if I ask why you need refuge on board our ship? I mean, we’re en-route to the middle of nowhere and you find us here.”
“Captain, if you’re accusing me of conspiracy you have altered my opinion of Starfleet quite significantly.”
“Standard issue, it is my duty to protect the crew of this ship.”
“I understand, Captain, but my reasons are valid. I am fleeing my home planet because the government has launched a military Ku. I’m sure Starfleet would be the first to know about such political actions.”
“You’re right, I do know about the Ku, but why take refuge on a ship?”
“Captain, you do not realize how involved I am with the politics, at the moment I’m a walking target. As you can tell from your sensors, my ship is severely damaged.”
Tucker still didn’t like it; there was a bad smell in the air. It was incomprehensible, but perhaps extending curtesy onto a stranger may make his day that bit better.
“Alright, just a reminder, we have had severe attacks to our ship also, we are on tight security, if you step out of line, I will arrest you. Do I make myself clear?”
“Perfectly”
“Excellent, good to see we have an understanding. Prepare to be beamed aboard”
The view screen went blank and Tucker swallowed deeply. Had he made a mistake in extending such a favour to this young Vulcan?
“Captain, she’s been beamed aboard.” Said Dani.
“Have her sent to my ready room, Lieutenant.”
“Aye, Sir.”
Captain Tucker rose to his feet and exited to the right to his ready room, the doors swiftly closed behind him with the traditional “hisss” sound. He sat behind his desk, anticipating the rewards and repercussions of what was about to pass through the door…

Pretending to look busy on his computer, the doors opened again with that faint hiss. A member of Tucker’s crew, someone from transporter room three in fact, followed by the Vulcan, Mervok. Out of respect for all his guests, Tucker stood in acknowledgement.
”Welcome aboard the USS Supernova. Thank-you, Ensign.” He said.
The Ensign stepped out of the ready room leaving Mervok and Tucker alone.
“Thank-you captain” she said as she sat down before him and Thomas resumed his previous position.
“So let me get this strait, your government has released a rebellion upon it’s own people and enforcing a martial law? I know this is cynical, but I find this hard to believe. I mean, how could such a politically colony like Vulcan be in such a state. I thought martial law would have considered to be ‘illogical’” As insulting as the Captain sounded, it simply was curiosity.
“No, I can understand your outburst. All this came about thanks to a group called The Vulcan Civilisation movement. They had conducted an investigation into the powers that were and still are, they found that the government had embezzled funding from things like education funding, defence, health regime and much more. Not only this, but the evidence had proven that many of the weapons issued by the Government to the troop were of an unknown origin, certainly not Vulcan.”
“I see. So in other words, the Government is practicing consolidation on it’s people. Strengthening organisations, weakening individuals. So I take it the rioting is intensifying?”
“It’s beyond rioting, Captain Tucker. In fact, the point of no return has been crossed so far I forgot what the point of no return looked like. So I fled.”
There was something that attracted Thomas to the Vulcan. Not physically, sure, she was attractive, a nicely rounded figure, but her manner seemed to be something that wasn’t common with most Vulcan’s. He sensed it. It was a good feeling. Like she was approachable, she could hold up a conversation without killing it by getting to the raw facts and avoiding the formalities. He liked her quite a bit. She was understanding and had a broad mind, always putting the shoes of the incomprehensible on her feet. And the clothes she wore, at a closer glance, they were tightly wrapped to her, not like ordinary robes that most of the Vulcan’s wore. Her skin was a Meditterrainian olive colour. Although her beauty and personality were likable, there was still a significant essence of scepticism between them.
“I completely understand why you fled. Yes indeed. But why all the way out here in the middle of Romulan Space? I’m surprised you survived.”
“I could ask you the same thing, Captain.”
“I suppose, but how did you survive?”
“I did have encounters with the Romulan’s, but my ship is equip with a cloaking device.”
“So how long were you going to sit tight for?”
“Until necessary repairs were made.”
“But you still haven’t answered my question, why out here?”
“Captain, my husband was of the corrupt Government too until he defected. They are after me just as much they are him. He ordered me to go to safety, this is the last place they’d think to look.”
The more she told, the more sense it all made. She certainly wasn’t common. She was smart and new all the pockets of space. Perhaps she’d be a merit to the crew of the ship; and then again, maybe not.
“Well, as you realise, I can’t just sign you on as a crewmember. It needs to be official”
“Captain, I have many qualifications in medicine. Some of which came from Starfleet Academy.”
“Vulcan medicine and Human medicine are incompatible.”
“Anyway, it doesn’t matter, I have Starfleet qualifications in medicine. Besides, are they really so different? ”
“In some areas.”
“But the thing is, the Ensign who escorted me here told me you had many wounded and your EMH was offline. I would be more than glad to provide assistance.”
She knew how to bargain like a Ferenghi. Who was she?
“Alright then. But I cannot promise anything is going to be permanent. Just so you know.”
“Perfectly, Captain.”
A few more minutes passed of them gossiping to one another about the Wormhole they had come to find. However, first and foremost, the Captain wasn’t going to move anywhere without treating his injured crewmen. The pair stood up and Thomas let Mervok through the door first. He still didn’t trust her all too much. Although already there was a strong link between them and they had exchanged some forms of banter, she still was still a mystery. She was cute, her walk and the austere expression on her face.
The bridge was silent, all crew wondering what the real story was, wondering what had taken place in the waiting room. Thomas gesturing to Lucy said:
“This is my first in command, Cmdr Beckanim. Cmdr, this is Dr Mervok, she will be assisting us with the wounded and helping us to navigate the Wormhole.”
Cmdr Beckanim stood. “Pleased to meet you.”
“In operations, Lt James Amutu.”
James gave a warm smile and a quick wave. Dr Mervock nodded in acknowledgement.
“At Tactical, Lt Dani Eales.”
Dani raised her head briefly.
“Finally, the helm, Ens Ma’l Davis.”
Davis turned around and smiled warmly.
“So that’s my senior crew. I’ll show you to our sickbay.”
“Yes, Sir.”

The walk to sickbay was surprising quiet. In the turbo-lift, there was that dead silence as if they had just both done something to diminish their innocence and the walk to sickbay, very professional and business like. Perhaps she was strictly business on the other hand.
The sickbay doors opened, there were a great deal of wounded crew members. Lt Sheridan was amongst the wounded, he was the chief of engineering, so he wanted him patched up as soon as possible. Thomas gestured over to Daniel while Ensign Hughes stood above him.”
“This is my acting medical officer, Ensign Hughes. She has needed to step in because of our EMH’s…….malfunction. This is my chief officer of Engineering, Lieutenant Daniel Sheridan. Lieutenant, Ensign, this is Doctor E’lana Mervok, she will be assisting in sickbay since our EMH is offline indefinitely.”
“Yes, Sir. Pleased to meet you, Doctor.” Sheridan responded.
Ensign Hughes smiled.
“Lieutenant, Ensign.” Mervok acknowledged.
“Ensign, since you’re still quite worried about how to deal with Daniel’s leg, Dr Mervok feels she can take over. However, if she needs any assistance, please lend a hand. For now, I suppose you can start on the other patients.” The Captain ordered.
“Yes, Sir.” Hughes said.
Ensign Hughes left and got to work on the other wounded. Mervok and Sheridan looked ready. Captain Tucker left them both to it, he left sickbay. Doctor Mervok looked down at Lieutenant Sheridan and noticed his wounded leg. The blood had got darker and Daniel’s knee felt all the more tender. The pain killers must have been wearing off.
“So, what happened to you to get a leg in that condition?” asked Doctor Mervok.
“When we were under attack, in engineering, one of the reactors exploded and caught my leg, I’m not sure if I’ll have one after this.”
E’lana reached for a medical tricorder, opened it and began scanning Daniel’s leg.
“It’s ok, you can keep your leg, but not your pants, I’ll need a closer look.” E’lana informed him. Immediately, the look on Daniel’s face resembled that of an infant who has just bit into a lemon. He looked around and suddenly felt very vulnerable.
“In front of all these people? Can we use the operation lab?”
“Lieutenant, you must learn not to be so self-conscious. What will happen in the field when you are shot and will be required to take off a few layers of clothing?”
“I guess I’ll have to then won’t I? But it really unnecessary making me do it here” Just from saying this, Daniel was bringing attention upon himself, heads were beginning to turn. “Yeah I’m talking about you!” he exclaimed.
“Can you walk?”
“I can hop on one leg.” He levered himself off the operating bed and E’lana supported him and put his arm around him, they hopped toward the back where the operation lab. The doors were made of metal and had one-way class so you could only see out into the sickbay, they were heavy doors, soundproof. The closed behind Daniel and E’lana. E’lana helped Daniel onto the examination table. The lighting was a strange dark blue. The temperature was very cold, almost everything was metallic giving the room a very impersonal feel.
He stripped off his outer jacket and then pulled off his skivvy leaving his short sleave shirt as the upper garment. Cautiously, he lifted off his shirt. He then reached down for his ankle-high boots and pulled them off and tugged at his pants ever-so-slowly to avoid any pain. No matter how slow he went, it rubbed against the blood and stung like hell. Now he was reduced to underpants. Whilst he was doing this, Dr Mervok got some medical supplies, hypospray, scalpel, dermo regenerator and replicated some anti-bacterial gel for the surface of his leg. She then pulled away the upper part of her body suit leaving the top part hanging off the bottom part and leaving a tight, ocean blue singlet stopping just above her belly-button as her upper layer. It was going to get dirty.
The pain was unbearable, but it had to be fixed, or else he would lose his leg. First, Dr Mervok cleaned the wound with some Vulcan traditional medicines she had replicated. She mopped it up with a medical cloth. After the wound was clean she used a hypospray to kill the pain.
“I would look away, Lieutenant.” She advised.
With the scalpel, she scraped the dead skin away and any dry blood and opened the wound slightly too see if the blood had been infected, but it wasn’t. Holding the skin on his leg together, blood was pouring out, it was clean which was good. She reached for the dermal regenerator and guided the laser beam over it which healed the skin. She then turned away to wash her bloody hands and arms. Daniel looked at the wound and was amazed at how perfect it looked. .
“Thank-you so much.” He said.
E’lana turned back to Daniel with her hands clean and reached into the container of anti-bacterial gel and collected a large blob of it in her hands.
“The pain is gone and the wound is healed, but just in case some of the infection may be on the inner walls of your skin, this will kill any remaining bacteria.” She announced this as she began to rub the gel up his thigh. Her hands were very warm but the gel felt like ice. Her hands went further and further up his leg. Daniel winced in discomfort.
“Mmmm, it sure is cold” he said as he shifted his leg a little. She placed her hand on his knee cap and said calmly “Relax, I’m a Doctor.”
Even she was starting to get a little grimy from the gel. To his shock, she then stripped off her lower part of her body suit as well as her boots, leaving her underpants and tight blue singlet, her legs were slim and matched the colour of her facial skin. She climbed up on the table and put both of his legs between her thighs and started rubbing it into his legs hard. Daniel took her advice and lay backward feeling the external intimacy. E’lana’s hands worked all around his thighs stopping just below the line of his underpants. Her calves wrapped around his as she leaned further into him, rubbing very deeply into his thighs. Since she was leaning, her chest stuck forward, expressing her erect nipples. Daniel couldn’t believe it.
“Uhhhhhh, ohhhhhh. Uhhhhhh.” Daniel moaned and certainly was relaxed, so much so, his mind wandered into a distant dream. A faint smile grew on Dr Mervok’s face.

Chapter 6

Handing the padd to Lieutenant Amutu, Captain Tucker said “James, here are the coordination’s for the wormhole and the information that Doctor Mervok gave us. I need you to work with Lieutenant Eales, meanwhile, we’ll be taking necessary repairs and taking some shelter. ”
“Yes, Sir. If I have any troubles I’ll come and see you. Also, Captain, my investigation into the psycho hologram has suggested that someone back at home on the design team may have done this- don’t quote me, it just seems that whoever hacked into the Doctor’s syntax’s really knew what they were doing. I’d be surprised if an engineer could do what this person did.”
“So this is a case of sabotage. That troubles me. I’ll be right here in my ready room.”
“Thank-you, Captain.” James said as he left the Captain’s ready room onto the bridge. James approached Lieutenant Eales’s station.
“Lieutenant, the Captain has asked me to work with you using these schematics. I thought it would be a good start to try and reconstruct them in a holodeck simulation. I’ll combine both the information on this padd and some information of that sector of space from the Starfleet database and input it into the holodeck program.” Suggested James.
“That sounds like a good idea, James. Alright, we’ll just need people to sit in for us on our stations, I’ll be right with you.” Said Dani.

The heavy, metallic holodeck doors opened up revealing the grid that illustrates the desired environment for the user. It was a bit larger than usual, various modifications and upgrades had been made for this holodeck.
“Computer, engage shuttle program alpha forty-seven.” James commanded.
Immediately, Dani and James were on board a standard Starfleet shuttle craft. They took their seats.
James inputted the information from the padd into the console.
“Computer, set course for the Exata wormhole, maximum warp.” Said James.
The shuttle went into warp.
“So what do we know about the wormhole?” Asked Dani
“Well, the co-ordinate’s is one thing we know, and apparently the worm hole appears every 36 hours. What we’re trying to do is find out when the next 36 hours is and how long we have to be there in. We don’t want to get there in a hurry and be sitting ducks waiting for the Romulans to find us, nor to we want to be late.”
“It sounds as if we’ve planned ahead quite well.”
“That’s the reward with a great captain.”
“Well, some of his methods I am in disagreement in. I don’t think he realizes the danger in being here and to survive requires a certain amount of firepower.”
“You’ll find that when you declare such methods of violence, it usually exerts back upon you.”
“With all due respect, Lieutenant, I don’t think lateral thinking is going to help us though such a violent region of space.”
“Perhaps…perhaps not”
The shuttle stopped to slow.
“This is where we need to be. Maybe there’s a way to open the wormhole manually. Might I suggest we fire a low power phaser shot onto the co-ordinate’s of the wormhole.” Said Dani.
“It could work. Proceed, Lieutenant.”
Dani tapped her console, running her fingers across the settings for phaser power allocation, then pressing fire. Phaser shots discharged from the shuttles phaser banks. Nothing appeared.
“Try increasing the intensity of your shots. Don’t be afraid, it’s only a holodeck simulation.”
“Yes, sir. Boosting power up to medium.”
Dani repeated the procedure, this time increasing power to medium. She fired again, this time, a faint blue seemed to appear and then suddenly vanish.
“Did you see that?” Dani said almost too enthusiastically.
James immediately consulted his console. Tapping onto the sensors part of the console, he recalled the shuttles logs and then narrowing them down to the previous minute. On the screen to his right, the findings were reported. They were in the right spot, the wormhole they fired upon matched those of the schematics on the padd.
“Well we’ve hit our target. Maybe if we increase fire power again it could open the wormhole in its entirety.” Suggested James.
“I’m right ahead of you.” Dani said as she increased the power of the phasers. The phaser banks discharged once again, this time the wormhole stayed.
“Excellent work, Dani. I’m going to take us in.” James then piloted the shuttle into the wormhole. The colours inside were amazing. As they first passed through though, what seemed to be volts of electricity surrounded the shuttle, striking it, inside it was chaotic, consoles were sparking and sensors were going offline.
“It seems as though the wormhole-” James was interrupted by the violent tremor. “As if the wormhole is collapsing from our phaser fire. It seemed to have wounded it.”
The shuttle shook and exploded into smithereens as the explosion started to collapse the wormhole. The program shut off, leaving Eales and Amutu in the holodeck lying on the ground.
“That means we’ll need meet with the wormhole when it opens. It could prove to be a problem if we have Romulan’s chasing us.” James said as he stood up.
“Did the holodeck take a recording of everything?” asked Dani as she stood up.
“Yes, it should have even calculated the time we need to be there in. Lets go and see the Captain.”

“These are our findings, Captain. When we need to be there and the wormhole’s behaviour to our actions.” Said James as he handed Thomas the padd of results.
“Excellent work to the both of you. We’re going on red alert, during your visit to the holodeck, we detected several Romulan vessels in the area. But it’s good to see we’re closer to the wormhole than we think.” Said Tucker.
Dani added “Captain, do you think the Romulans are expecting us to be at the wormhole?”
“I’m not sure, Lieutenant. If they knew about the wormhole and where we were headed, I’d say they would have already destroyed it. Cast all caution to the wind. We’re almost there. Is there anything else?”
“No, Sir.” Dani and James said.
“Very well then, dismissed.” Said the Captain. James and Dani promptly left the Captain’s waiting room. The Captain needed to report the findings to his crew. They were close, he could feel it.

The bridge was dark, the whole ship in fact. It was only because they were on red alert, creeping through Romulan space like children on Christmas morning. It was survival of the toughest, it was clear to those who were eaten up at the inside, the quiet ones, those who stumbled with orders, the un-coordinated. Lucy’s shyness was a pure example. She almost wanted to cry, many of the crew could see that. But could she be blamed? The crew were stagnant on the bridge, at their stations, monitoring activity. It was so quiet.
“So, Commander, whereabouts are you from?” Lieutenant Amutu wanted to try and divert the crew’s concerns about the situation at hand and try to bring in another element that would have a stab at comforting the crew somewhat.
“I’m from England. Yourself?”
“New Zealand. I grew up in Maori camps.”
“Well, I had a sheltered life, attending a private girls school under strict conditions.”
“You’ve had it lucky then.”
“I don’t know, it’s almost as if….well….I never learned anything.”
“How do you mean?”
“Never was faced with the worst of situations. Always had someone there to watch over me.”
“With all due respect, Commander, but living in the rough neighbourhood I did wasn’t all that rewarding. Sure, I was more aware of combat skills and was street wise, but I constantly got into trouble.” Eales added to the conversation.
“I envy you, Lieutenant. It must have been hard.” The Commander giving credit where it was due.
“Ensign, as for you?” Lucy asked.
“I was a rebel, a menace. But what more was there for me to do against the Cardassians?” Ma’l answered.
“Hmph….terrorism, it only makes it harder on you.” Dani added.
Ma’l turned around in disgust. “How dare you. My parents died at the blade of a Cardassian in cold blood. I was a witness to that, don’t tell me-”
“That’s enough! Adding stress and tension to a situation that already has enough of both won’t get us far- I guarantee it.” Lucy snapped and cut the argument at the stump. After all, she was the Captain’s first officer.

The coffee was horrible. Well, it wasn’t so much the coffee that was off flavour, but the cream. Ma’l had already passed on his recipe to the captain hoping that the poor quality of the cream would persuade him to make a request to engineering to rectify the problem. Thomas never used cream, he appreciated the old fashioned. Ma’l told the captain it gave the coffee more of a soul, a fulfilment of the beverage. However, it seemed that the replicator had produced cream that was more like liquid, very dull in flavour. Or maybe it was just the dissatisfaction of the mission’s progress. Thomas seemed to look down upon everything by now. He hadn’t even began to establish Voyager’s whereabouts, so far, it was more of an infiltration of Romulan space than it was to use it as a pathway. It made James wonder, for what the Admiral described as a non-eventful sector of Romulan space, the encounters with the Romulans didn’t make it seem quiet. But now that everyone on the ship was aware of Dani’s and James’s findings, he seemed to feel a little bit more at ease.
James sat in his ready room with his coffee in hand staring out into space, wondering when they’d return, wondering when fleets of ships would grasp the opportunity to take Supernova out. The thoughts were interrupted by a door chime. The Captain’s attention was quickly drawn to the door as he put his coffee down and stood up.
“Come in.” He announced.
Doctor E’lana Mervok came in.
“Doctor, take a seat.” Said James in a very inviting manner.
“Thank-you, Captain. Here’s the report you requested, Daniel’s recovery at the present time is satisfactory. He’s done incredibly well. I hope Starfleet weren’t too startled by the conditions we are in.” Doctor Mervok said as she handed James the padd.
“I’m glad to hear that Lieutenant Sheridan’s recovery has been quite good. For the reasons of the Romulans intercepting our communications back to Starfleet, I cannot inform them of our whereabouts or the events that have taken place on the ship until we are either out of Romulan space or are face to face.” James pointed out as he scanned the padd. “Well, I’m sure you’ll be able to replicate necessary supplies to compensate for what you don’t have here.”
“That’s going to be a problem, Captain. Ship power doesn’t seem to be able to allocate the power required to operate the medical replicator.” Mervok pointed out.
James rubbed his eyes. “I’m sure our engineering staff is doing their very best to get things back online. You must understand this will take some time. We’re in a very vulnerable position here. However, I will remind them that sickbay does have a certain priority for the welfare of the crew.”
The tremor violently shook the ship. The conversation in the Captain’s ready room had been interrupted.
Thomas tapped his communicator. “Commander Beckanim, report.”
“Captain, we’ve been hit by a Romulan torpedo, it’s damaged our shielding quite substantially.”
“Avoid their fire, I’m on my way out. Doctor, I’m sorry about this, we’ll need to continue another time.”
“Understood Captain.” Doctor Mervock said as she left Thomas’s waiting room.
Thomas walked out to the bridge where he was required.
“Captain, we seemed to have avoided the Romulans for now.” Lucy informed him. Thomas took his seat.
“Thank-you, Commander. If we receive anymore attacks like that and I’m not here, deal with them just as you did now. I want to exchange as little fire as possible.”
The ship violently shook again, making Lucy gasp.
“They’ve found us, Captain.” Lt Eales reported.
“Return fire” Tucker ordered.
Streams of red phaser fire discharged from the supernova’s phaser banks slicing through the shields of the Romulan ship.
“Captain, I don’t believe it, it’s the wormhole off our port bow.” Lieutenant Amutu said.
This caught Tuckers attention quite actively than the attacks did. It was a light at the end of the tunnel, hopefully.
“On screen, Lieutenant.”
The eye of the wormhole appeared before them, it was like a vortex of light and was very inviting.
“Lieutenant Amutu, how long do we have until the wormhole closes before us?” Captain Tucker asked.
“No more than three minutes, sir. If we miss it this time around, we’ll be waiting for quite some time and that will allow the Romulans to learn of our position and worse still, the wormhole. I can’t stress enough the importance of entering the worm hole as soon as possible.”
“Agreed. Ensign Davis, take us into the wormhole, avoiding the Romulan fire. Lieutenant Eales, I need you to fire back at the Romulan ship just enough to persuade them not to follow us into the wormhole.”
“Aye, Captain.” Dani complied.
From the rear of the Akira Class Supernova, several torpedo’s fired toward the Romulan ship, throwing it off a little. It wasn’t helping though, they were persistent. Multi-coloured light and what appeared to be electric waves surrounded Supernova as they entered the worm hole. From the inside of the ship, on the viewscreen, it was a ride, the thrill was just spectacular.
“Captain, I’m still firing, but it’s no good, they’re still following us in.” Dani reported.
“Increase intensity of weapons fire, Lieutenant. If they-” there was another violent shake on the ship, more intense than the previous ones. Consoles exploded leaking fire on the back section of the bridge, crew members were thrown all over the place.
“BRACE!” Lieutenant Amutu shouted.
In sequence, everyone took a bracing position as the ship flipped upside down and turned in 180 degree turns. More consoles exploded, it was difficult to see two metres ahead due to all the smoke. Lucy was on the floor coughing violently, James had been hauled off his chair.
“Ahhh, my arm” James moaned in pain.
James still gripping to his chair ever so strongly yelled out the words “What the hell was that?!!!!!”
“Captain, we got hit by what seemed to be an electricity volt. This happens whenever a wormhole is closing, if we don’t hurry, the ship will be destroyed. We’ve have very little time. I recommend we stop firing, our weapons fire seems to be hitting the walls of the wormhole. Worse still, much of these electricity volts have mainly been conducted through our phaser fire, hence why much of our phaser banks are blown.” James reported.
“Dani, did you hear that? Stop firing for gods sake! We’ll burn in our own fire.” Captain said.
“Yes, Sir.”
Lucy crawled along the floor toward Ensign Davis, helping him up.
“Ensign, can you walk?” Commander Beckanim asked.
“Barely. Just get me in my chair.” Ma’l said.
She propped him into his chair.
“I’ll use my other hand, but it’ll be hard.”
“Do that, Ensign. Lucy, give him a hand.” The Captain concurred. Lucy stoo beside Ma’l with her hand on his back.
“Are you ok, Commander?” James asked.
“I’ll be fine.” She responded. James looked hopeful to the viewscreen. They had come too far to have disastrous results.
The Romulan vessel opened fire once again, their fire hitting the worm hole, in an instant, a purple surge passed through the fire stream, passing through their shields and taking out the Aft section of their ship. Most of the ship was nothing but a fireball descending toward the walls of the worm hole, colliding and exploding causing blast waves to contribute to the rupture of the worm hole and hitting Supernova. Supernova shook again.
“The Romulan Warbird has been destroyed, Captain.” Lieutenant Eales reported.
“Excellent.” The Captain said.
The Akira Class ship sped up, getting closer to the end of the wormhole. Within minutes, they had passed through. Seconds after they cleared the wormhole, it closed. Supernova came to a full stop. James raised his head in relief.
“Report.”
“I’m reading extensive damage on Decks 3 and 4, we have several casualties and fire on deck 2.” Lieutenant Amutu stated.
“Great. The damage report will be something to read.” James said as he stood and looked at the viewscreen, all he could see was a large collection of damaged ships drifting in space. “Where the hell are we?”
“Sensors are offline, Captain. But if that was the wormhole we needed to pass through, we’re years closer to voyager than Starfleet ever will be.” Dani said.
There was no denying it, their goal had been reached. They were where they needed to be to fulfil their tasks. The only thing is, the ship was heavily damaged with a wounded crew. This is where the problems settled in amongst the crew and would make their task much harder than anticipated…

Chapter 7

The Captain’s evaluation of the senior crew’s punctuality to meetings to the Operations room dropped far short of impressive. They were running ten minutes late. He wondered what the hold up was and wished they would hurry. It was the first gathering in the Operations room. It basically consisted of a large table for the crew to sit around, screens on the wall for communication purposes and displaying information, a replicator and a view of space behind the head of the table, where the Captain would sit. The door hissed open, it was Lieutenant Eales followed by Lieutenant James Amutu, followed by Ensign Davis, then the Chief of engineering and then followed by Doctor Mervok. They all took their seats. Captain Tucker began to speak.
“Well you took your time. When I set a time for a meeting I mean for you to adhere to it. Let’s hope this doesn’t become a problem. Sorry to start off on a negative vibe. Many of you should now be aware of our position on this mission.”
“With all due respect Captain, I’ve been recovering with my knee and working so far around the clock, I’m losing track of things. All I know is we’ve finally made it to the Delta Quadrant in one piece.” Added Daniel.
“That’s fine, Lieutenant, I understand from where you are. Allow me to evaluate and update you on our situation then. Once we finally found the Exata Wormhole, we got bombarded by Romulan Warbirds, our situation only got worse after crossing through the Wormhole making the grave discovery that it was collapsing on us. After passing through the Wormhole, we seemed to have stumbled onto some starship graveyard. At this point in time, we have absolutely no idea where to find Voyager, before we continue on, I want to learn more of our position and know what we’re getting into. Lt Eales and Amutu, did your investigation turn up anything?” asked the Captain Tucker.
“There are no functioning ships, however, what we did notice was an outpost, much like a space station.” James said as he rose from his chair, tapping the screen on the wall. Up came a schematic of a space station. The shape of the space station was the closest thing to a metallic toed-stool, but not so obvious as a toed stool, but if the frame of the station was rendered out, it could have been one, only the size of a space station, like Starbase 21 almost. The schematic shown that the space station had areas blown out of it from attacks. It didn’t appear as though it was functioning.
“We believe our best source of information will come from here. If we were to use a process of elimination and go ship by ship to scavenge, we could be here for months. In this case, bigger is better. This mission is an information-gathering mission, there are no lifesigns and probability of encounter is unlikely, however for protection, we will carry weapons. Since you’ll need to be in space hazard suits, you won’t be able to conceal a phaser, so we’re going to give you a phaser rifle and tricorder, that should be all you need.” Added Lt Eales.
James tapped the screen again, nominating the upper part of the station, it then zoomed in to that spot.
“For the sake of being “low-key”, we want a team to take a shuttle to the station, just in case. Our scans concluded that this part of the station has a docking bay that has its doors blown out, so whilst in the shuttle-bay, it will be necessary to wear space-hazard suits for obvious reasons. In fact, there are many hazardous areas, so wear these suits for the mission in its entirety.” Said James.
“Who does the team comprise of?” asked Ensign Davis.
Lt Eales picked up the padd sitting in front of her on the table and read the names out clearly.
“The team is: Lieutenant Sheridan, Lieutenant Amutu and myself. Also, Doctor Mervok, we’d be very grateful for your assistance in the event of a medical emergency. I want the team t assemble in the shuttle bay within the next half hour. Doctor, I will give you a detailed report on our environment over there for medical supplies. If you need anything additional, you know where to find me.”
“Shouldn’t be a problem, Lieutenant.” E’lana responded.
Captain Tucker stood up, satisfied with the plan. “I don’t see any problems with that, whilst you’re on the mission, we’ll be maintaining as much repairs as we can handle and completing preliminary scans of the area if anything else should turn up. Don’t worry, we’ll also be watching for anymore ships in the area. Like I’ve said before, we want to avoid conflict as much as possible. The more conflict we create, the more attention we get which jeopardises our chances of finding Voyager. Good luck to you all, dismissed.”

Everyone had gone back to their posts and Doctor Mervok and Lt Sheridan were alone in the turbo-lift. The doors shut behind them. The silence was so great between them you could hear the turbo-lift travelling through the shaft level by level. Daniel wanted to break this silence.
“Computer, stop.” Daniel said and to E’lana’s surprise, she faced him.
“Look, about what happened in the sickbay, that was, amazing.”
“I beg your pardon?”
“You know, what we did. I just am grateful to have you on board as my Doctor.”
“Thank-you, Lieutenant, that’s very thoughtful of you.” She said this with the most confused look on her face not knowing what the big deal was.
Daniel felt a warmth inside, he wanted to act on it. He moved closer to Mervok cornering, her holding her by the waist.
“You have a great set of hands.”
Immediately, she looked disgusted at Daniel’s outburst, she pushed herself further into the wall, wrapped her arms around Daniel and used his shoulders as leverage to lunge her lower body to wrap around his waist. From the sudden pressure, Daniel fell to the ground with E’lana wrapped to him, with her arms pinning him down by his shoulders.
“I’m amazed what you can do in those tight suits of yours” Daniel flurted.
“Don’t you dare you that again!” she snorted. Daniel was shocked and felt compromised and didn’t know what to do. E’lana released herself from him, unlocking her legs from his waist and standing up.
“I am a married woman, Lieutenant!” her eyes were stabbing daggers.
“But what we did in the sick bay? It was so…sexual” Daniel argued.
“What? The rubbing? It’s a standard medical practice to relax the patient!” she stood well away from him.
“Well, I’m sorry, Doctor, but humans would react sexually to that. It was very seductive and pleasurable.”
“You humans need to look more at life. It’s not just about sex. Computer, resume turbo-lift!” her anger was rising. Daniel was feeling really bad, like he had just torn a link between himself and a crewmember. But on the other hand, how was he to know? He was single, of course he would react like that.
“Look, I’m sorry. It was my fault, you’re right. I should control myself. I reacted in an irrational manner.”
“It was illogical.” She concluded as the turbo-lift doors opened, E’lana was the first to leave, Daniel watched her stroll down the corridor, although it was his stop, he didn’t dare to move. She was a married woman, he still couldn’t rationalize her actions as a form of medical relaxation. It was certainly a practice he was unaware of.
Daniel waited a few minutes and stepped out of the turbo-lift heading for engineering. On his way to engineering the guilt was overwhelming, he couldn’t forgive himself.
The large double doors at engineering opened up, at first site Daniel saw the Warp Core processing appropriately, this bought a smile to his face.
“Lieutenant Jeffries, you got the core back on line?” he said proudly as the Lieutenant approach him.
“Finally, sir, finally. We’re back on track. The only thing left to repair are the plasma injectors and the coolant reactor on deck two.”
“Excellent, keep up the good work.” Said Daniel who smiled with the guilt inside. He walked over to the screens to his right. Tapping them, it was shown that there were still fluxuations on some of the decks. Looking to the right of the screen, the ships power had increased quite considerably since his last visit to engineering. He run his fingers over the power allocations for decks on the monitor. If he could allocate enough power for those decks, it might just work. Looking down at the console, he worked his hands, left to right, making sure he didn’t imbalance power distribution. “Computer, access power distribution network and allow one tenth of power to decks three and four.” He said and instantly, the decks that had power fluxuations highlighted in red turned green. The ship was on the mend.

Dani stood down from her station and departed for the turbo-lift. James was still clearly up some scans he needed to do on the space station. He was looking forward to his first leap out into the Delta Quadrant. He only wished he wouldn’t be confined to a space suit though. On the other hand, he was also unsure of what to expect. The facts reminded him that the ships out there had been salvaged with their crew missing and perhaps dead. Rounding up the scans at his station, he stepped down and headed for the turbo lift.

The shuttle bay was full of activity. Officers running from left to right to make sure the shuttle was ready for take off. The inside of the shuttle was lit up like a Christmas tree. The consoles appeared to be in good order and the seating was surprisingly too comfortable for an away team.
Lieutenant Sheridan and Amutu were the first to enter the shuttle. They sat at their posts tapping their consoles.
“We’re in for one hell of a ride” Daniel said.
“You sound threatened, Lieutenant.”
“You don’t sound the slightest bit scared. There’s a chance we could add to the collections of skeletons in those ships. Don’t you realize that.”
“You must realize, Daniel, that the time to be scared is the when the time comes to confront your fears. Anticipated fear can rupture the foundations of confidence and could well compromise the mission.”
“You’re very wise. Are you a monk?”
“Me? No.” James chuckled.
The warm atmosphere was broken by Dr Mervok’s entrance. She glanced at Daniel and James and sat down and crossed her legs.
“Ahh, Doctor, I’ve heard very good things from sickbay. I’m glad to hear things are coming along well.” James said.
“Oh, things are very well, Lieutenant, Mr Sheridan could tell you. Isn’t that right, Daniel?”
Daniel just blushed and nodded. He couldn’t believe that she still hadn’t got over it. “One hell of a mission”, the words echoed through Daniel’s mind.
“Ok, we should be set to go. Is everyone prepared? Doctor, are you equipped with the proper medical supplies?” Dani came in and addressed her crew ready for action.
“Check, Lieutenant.” E’lana said.
Dani took her post, tapping the console. “This is Lieutenant Dani Eales of shuttlecraft four requesting take off.”
“Shuttle craft four, you are clear for take off.” The voice on the comm. said.
Everyone was in their positions, sitting down. The shuttle bay blast doors opened. Dani tapped her console, the shuttle slowly drifted through the shuttle bay and away from Supernova.
From his view, James was instantly reminded of his first meeting with the Supernova on the shuttle heading for Deep Space Nine. He hoped that encounter was the first of many.
“Lieutenant Amutu, are the schematics set?” Asked Dani.
“Yes they are, Lieutenant.” James responded but still fixated on Supernova.
“Warp five, engage.” At Dani’s instruction, the necellses lit up and the shuttle went into warp.

With the shuttle on auto pilot, it wouldn’t require anyone to watch over it, the computer would inform them of anything out of the ordinary. The shuttle wasn’t too small. In the front, of course was the helm and other necessary controls for the ship, there was a compartment separated by a door behind the main front. But just to save space out the back, Lieutenant Amutu and Doctor Mervok waited in the front compartment. The rear compartment consisted of a table to sit at, a replicator, a medical examination table, medical supplies, weapons and various field tools and in the corner, two transporter plates.
The environmental suits were kept in what seemed like lockers with transparent glass doors. The suits were plastic, not heavy at all, quite light. It came in three pieces, firstly the head piece, then the body and then legs. Once it was put on, the whole suit would just interlock, ceiling it closed.
Dani lifted two suits out, one by one. Daniel had never wore one of these before, well not of this model anyway, he only wore them in his examinations at Starfleet Academy.
Dani stripped her outer jacket off, then pulling off her long sleave skivvy, leaving a tank top as the upper garment. Kneeling down, she unzips her boots and pulls her pants off. Then facing her back to Daniel, she lifts her tank top off revealing a bare back, but leaving her tight underpants on. Daniel was startled by his day so far; the guilt was all the more overwhelming than ever. Dani’s shoulder blades were so tight and strong, not to mention her shoulders, her sides were perfect.
Daniel didn’t want to get caught, not since his episode with E’lana. It could be at the price of his position with Starfleet for sexual harassment. He stripped his layers of the uniform off, stripping down to his underpants. Apart from the tank top, the layers were identical. There was a short sleave shirt replacing the tank top, and the boots weren’t knee-high, they stopped an inch above his ankles.
Dani also couldn’t control the urge, she caught a glimpse of Sheridan’s body. “He’s sexy, cute his body isn’t anything mind blowing, very normal frame, but I could see myself having fun with him” she thought to herself. But she was about business too, she wasn’t going to flirt with him, she wasn’t interested. Dani was too down the line to be bothered with relationships. Her stubbornness was her loss.
Daniel got the leg component of the hazard suit and pulls it on followed by the body piece and then the helmet. There were a number of buttons on the chest piece of the suit, he pushed one of them, this interlocked the suit, oxygen wasn’t activated since they weren’t in a hazardous environment, he was still breathing normal air that was going into his suit.
“Does this look right to you?” Daniel asked.
Dani walked over to him and looked at the suit up close. “It’s fine, can you move without trouble?”
“Yeah, nothing feels tight, it’s all good.” Daniel said.
The pair went to the front of the shuttle.
“Lieutenant Amutu, I trust you can show Doctor Mervok how to appropriately equip these?” Dani asked.
“Shouldn’t be a problem.” James responded.

James and E’lana were so much faster than Dani and Daniel ever were. Dani checked their uniforms and they were fine.
The shuttle was closing in on the space station. It entered through the upper part of the space station, surrounding the shuttle now, was debris and darkness. It was a dead zone. The shuttle docked in a safer place of the area.
The rear of the shuttle opened up, the away team walked out into the corridors that were torn, some parts burned. The only source of light seemed to be a few consoles that were of no use operating on emergency power and the lights attached to the wrists of their uniforms.

Chapter 8

The corridors were very dark with scrap metal lying all over the floors. Walls had clean holes blown through them, some consoles were flickering. Emergency power had been left online. There wasn’t much of that left either.
The team followed in single file in utter silence observing their surroundings. Half an our passed until they made it into the main control room.
“This was a human outpost. The consoles are in English.” Reported Daniel as he was scanning a console with his tricorder.
“Ok, team. Here’s how it will be done. Daniel, I want you to try and bring power back online or at least allocate enough of the tertiary backup power to get these computers online. Doctor, check sensors and check for incoming ships. Meanwhile James and I will review the stations logs for any information that could be of assistance.” Said Dani.
Daniel tapped into the consoles accessing power setup schemes, but it was no use, the ships power was dead. If he were going to allocate power to the computers, it would be utterly dark inside. He informed Dani, she didn’t have a problem with it as long as they had the flash lights on their arms.
Slowly, the lights in the station died but the consoles lit up as planned. The ships sensors were pretty dull, nothing in site. E’lana even expanded the range of the sensors, all she could find was USS Supernova and their own shuttle, no other ships in the area.
Dani and James meanwhile checked the station logs. It seemed as though Voyager had in fact visited that space a while ago. It was no mistake, it was Voyager that had been there. There was no telling of were Voyager was though. Apparently, a crew member by the name of Nelix had met with a friend and got into trouble over something.
Searching further into the logs, there was a great deal of panic. It seemed as though the Borg had rendered the stations condition as it was. An attack, all the crew were assimilated. Same story with the other ships in the area.
The console that E’lana was overlooking beeped. Another ship appeared on sensors.
“Dani. I’m detecting a ship. It appears to be of a race known as…Kazon?” said E’lana.
“Kazon? I haven’t heard of them.” Said Dani.
“The ship is closing on our position. Intruder alert.” Said Doctor. Immediately, an alarm sounded, the away team readied their phase rifles and headed back the way they came.
Daniel led the group, hiding behind every wall before proceeding.
“Stop!” a voice shouted. Before Daniel could turn around, a phaser or some kind of laser gun fired in his direction, he immediately dived and returned fire. The rest of the group took fire.
“I am Lieutenant Dani Eales of the USS Supernova. We’re here on research.”
It was the Kazon, they started to fill the room. Daniel stood and fired and ducked again. The Kazon returned fire. Lieutenant Eales then started firing. She stood and fired at a barrel, it exploded sending some Kazon flying. It must have had an explosive element in it.
James side quickly rose from his cover and run toward another cover behind a box firing his gun at some of the Kazon. E’lana fired a few rounds.
“Come out and surrender. You’re surrounded.” Said a voice.
“All right, we’ll come out peacefully. Everyone drop your weapons.” Dani said as she slowly rose to her feet. Everyone co-operated. Each Kazon took claim of a crew member guiding them to the shuttle bay with their hands behind their backs.
Once in the shuttle bay, they stopped.
“You’re going to explain to us your purpose for being here.” One of the Kazon said.
“We told you, we’re here on research.” Responded Dani.
‘Research for what?!” the Kazon spat.
“We’re looking for one of our ships, Voyager. Do you know anything about it?”
“Ahahah, Voyager, yes, the stubborn humans who don’t wish to share technology and trespass through other people’s territories.”
“I’m sure there’s more to it than that.” Said Dani.
“Well, it’s a shame you’ll never find out.” Said the Kazon.
Instantly, Dani twisted around, grabbing the Kazon’s gun and kicking him in the groin, then sharply turned around shooting one Kazon to the ground. The other fought back too knocking the guards to the ground.
“Get aboard the shuttle now!” commanded Dani.
The away team ran for the shuttle, but at the other side of the shuttle bay, more Kazon troops beamed in. They puts their guns ahead of them and fired toward the Federation shuttle. Dani and James returned fire as they stood at the rear door of the shuttle. The door started to shut, everyone took their stations.
The shuttle immediately started to move out of the area raising shields to maximum. They met with the Kazon ship, it began firing at the space station in hope to kill them. Instead it fired a torpedo into the space station, the fireball rose through the space station starting a chain reaction of explosions. Out of nowhere Supernova started firing at the Kazon ship and the shuttle got as close to Supernova as possible. Very briefly, Supernova let its shields down for the shuttle to pass into the shuttle bay and then raised them again. Supernova went into warp.

In the Operations Room the away team assembled with the Captain.
“I don’t know what happened out there, I don’t know who we were fighting. But I have good news. We’ve found Voyager. We tapped onto them when we found a beacon. We’re headed in that direction, we’ve picked up their trace, we’re on the track.” The Captain reported.
“That’s excellent news, Captain. We found that those ships in the area that we were in turned out to be victims of the Borg. We also found that Voyager had docked there a while ago. As for the enemies who attacked us, the Stations sensors detected them as Kazon.” Said Dani.
“Kazon?” asked the Captain.
“We haven’t the faintest idea, Captain.” Said Daniel.
“What about Voyager?” asked James.
“If we play our cards right, we should be with them soon. I hope they’re where I think they are.” Said Thomas.

The bridge crew were back on duty. This time they were much closer to their goal than ever before. It was an exciting time.
“Captain. I have an announcement. I have Voyager on my sensors.” Said James.
“Can you hail them?!” Thomas quickly rose to his feet in excitement.
“They’re accepting our hail, Captain.”
“On screen, Lieutenant.”
Captain Janeway’s image appeared on the viewscreen with the Voyager bridge behind her.
“Captain, this is a pleasure. I am Captain Tucker of the USS Supernova. We were assigned with the mission of finding you and bringing you back home through a wormhole that we discovered in Romulan space.”
“The pleasure is all mine, Captain. A wormhole in Romulan space? Interesting. It seems we have much to discuss but first, I guess we better go home.” Captain Janeway said.
“Well, there will be a short delay. The Wormhole opens every 36 hours. There’s only about 12 left to go. Unfortunately, our research shown that if we were to open it forcefully with weapons, we could rupture the wormhole and ultimately be responsible for its collapse and as a result would never get home.”
“I understand, Captain. For the time being, we will close in on your position. We have lots to discuss. When we’re close enough, beam aboard and see me in my ready room.” Janeway said.
“Yes, Captain. See you then.” Thomas responded as the screen went black.
“I can’t believe it, we’ve done it.” Said Lucy.
“Yeah, well done, crew. Maintain your posts but take it easy. Contact Voyager if you see something out of the ordinary.” Said Thomas.
Thomas entered the turbo lift looking forward to his meeting with Captain Janeway. It was hard to believe he’d be the first person to have contact with the crew on their ship unlike all the transmissions that took place in the past. He had been hankering for this moment and it was finally his. He had worked hard and the rewards were awaiting him, but these rewards could be revoked all the same.
The transporter room was much like any other transporter rooms on a ship. Thomas stepped up onto the transporter plate.
“Captain. Pleased to meet you, I’m Lieutenant Riely.” He said.
“Please to meet you, Lieutenant. I hope everything is going well for you. On your sensors you should be detecting the USS Voyager.” Thomas said.
Riely checked his console and found Voyager.
“We’ve found them? This mission was a success after all. Congratulations. I’ll beam you right over.” Riely said as he run his hands up and back on the energiser plate of the console. Thomas beamed out.

Before Thomas was the chief of security, Tuvok. He was a black, serious looking Vulcan- a dramatically different nature to that of Doctor Mervok. Still looking around, he noticed that the difference between Supernova’s and Voyager’s transporter room was very marginal, if that. Most of all, the uniforms were different. The Voyager crew were still wearing the black jumpsuits with the coloured shoulder piece.
“Captain Tucker, it is a pleasure to have you aboard. Captain Janeway has requested that I accompany you to her ready room.” Tuvok announced.
“Thank-you.” Thomas said as he exited the transporter room with Tuvok.
The corridors were slightly different to those of Thomas’s ship. Voyager’s corridors seemed to incorporate more colour into theirs. The turbo lift was the slightest bit more noisy, it was actually quite pleasant, a very subtle hum.
The pair walked out onto the bridge. Tom Paris stood from his con, Harry turned to his right and Seven of Nine turned around.
“Well, thank-you, the pleasure is all mine. I’m so glad that-” Thomas was distracted by something. Seven of Nine, not that he knew who she was, looked strange. She had this metallic piece around her eye. But he approved of her looks, very much so.
“Oh, Captain. This here is Seven of Nine. She used to be a Borg drone, but our Doctor removed the nanotechnology from her body and gave her human skin. It was a tedious process, but the result was more than satisfying.” Tuvok said.
“Amazing.” Thomas whispered.

The ready room doors hissed open to show Captain Janeway sitting behind her desk and then standing to attention.
“Captain Tucker, it’s a pleasure. Thank-you, Tuvok.” Katherine Janeway said as she extended her hand to shake Thomas’s. Tuvok left the room. They both took a seat.
“So, how did you find us? How was the journey?” Katherine asked.
“Well…it’s a long story believe it or not. Starfleet found this wormhole that would lead us into this area of space, the only catch was, the wormhole was hidden in a dead sector of Romulan space. That part of the trip alone was exhausting. We then past through the wormhole and found this starship graveyard, all the ships seemed to be victims of the Borg.”
“That’s amazing. How is it that you found the wormhole in Romulan space?”
“Starfleet had an insider, a tip off. He knew about the “Pathfinder” mission and he was wanted by Starfleet. In return for his freedom, he offered us everything he knew about the wormhole.”
“I see.” Katherine said.
“So…tell us about your many years away from home. You must have changed as a person.”
“Thomas…the feelings amongst the crew over the years. Hope, loss, the sense of being the outsiders, it’s been so overwhelming. We discovered new worlds, been in many battles, met interesting new people and now we have a way home. Your presence is such a relief.”
“I’m sure it is. I’m surprised that you have survived against enemies like the Borg.”
“Well…the Borg. Our struggles with them are far from over, I assure you. Although we do have something that could work. Have you met Seven of nine?”
“Very briefly. I know about her…metamorphesis.”
“It’s been remarkable. But since she’s been changed, her abilities to grasp the concept of individuality has been difficult. She’s been having nightmares that she could swear are real. At first, we just had the same reaction to her as we would a child in explaining a nightmare, but there’s something more to it. Years ago, the Borg had a virus…a malfunction in the collective known as “Unimatrix Zero”. Whenever a Borg drone would go into their modulators, they would become themselves once again in the dream and then they’d be themselves in Borg uniforms. It was the first sign of a breakthrough with our struggle with the Borg. The war isn’t over, we’re still using it was our weapon.”
“Well, that story would certainly make Jean Luc Picard a very happy man. I just find it astounding, you’ve been out here all this time yet, you’ve helped thousands. I found myself reading about Voyager’s disappearance and Captain…for me, you’re a rolemodel. Your strength and courage the way you endeavour to get home with a “don’t take no for an answer” attitude is partly why I wanted to be the Captain of my ship.”
“Thomas, I am overcome. For me to have so much influence on you like that. I hope you’re not just saying that. But, you do need to remember, I haven’t forgot our relationship before I got married. I know you’re trying to pretend it never happened between us, but it did.”
“Oh, this again. This mission was burdened on me by chance. I had no say in it. Katherine, I know you love your husband, I didn’t come here to seek a relationship. What we did at Starfleet Academy is in the past. We can’t keep going with what was buried years ago.”
Katherine walked over to the replicator. “Two glasses of Champagne.” She requested. The beverages materialised.
She walked over to Thomas with the drink and handed him one. They clinked their glasses.
“In celebration of our first contact and the journey home, Captain.” Said Katherine.

“So what’s the hold-up here? Do we have to wait for them to finish up talking in there?” Tom Paris said in a cynical fashion.
“If you were listening before, Tom, you would understand the nature of the wormhole and why we can’t leave.” Tuvok said in a dry tone.
“At ease, Tuvok, I’m anxious myself to be home. I can’t believe this is the moment we have been longing for.” Chakotay said.
“But, I mean, there seems to be a lot of formalities in this desperate situation. I mean, it’s all very well that they’re catching up on old times in there-” Tom was cut off.
“It’s none of your business as to what is happening in that room, Tom.” Chakotay said.

Their mouths were closely clamped together, pressing against one another, the warmth was heavenly, they were still in their clothing. On the floor, Katherine was on top, Thomas ran his hand up Katherine’s chest. The exchanged more kisses but then Thomas pulled back and rolled her over kissing her some more and standing up.
“I think we’re getting off the topic somewhat.”
Katherine stood up also. “You’re right. Look…I’m sorry. Recently, I got a message from my husband, he had found someone else under the impression I was dead. The feeling of losing him was driving me mad. I just needed something to grip onto. Now you’re here to take me back home, I’m just really happy. I just felt I could take something back that I had already lost”
“The feeling must be devastating to think that a loved one has turned their back on you, but there comes a time where we need to draw the line. Besides, there’s someone I’ve found, someone I want.”
“You’re so right. This whole day has just been over the top. But it was good to see you, Captain.”
“You as well. But we need to get a move on soon. I’ll give you the necessary schematics of the wormhole that your engineering crew will need to maintain.” Said Thomas.
Thomas left to go back to his ship. He arranged for Daniel Sheridan to send the schematics over to Voyager’s chief of engineering, B’elana Torres. It was surrealistic what had happened. The warm, slow passionate kissing was great, but it wasn’t right to allow emotional status to take over. Besides, it was almost time to leave. Maybe one day he could see her back at home and work on something. But Thomas did have someone else in mind. The ship shook again and he exited for the bridge. It was the Borg, they were on the attack for both Supernova and Voyager. Both Federation ships went into warp to chase the wormhole.

Chapter 9

Voyager and Supernova had agreed to meet at the Exata Wormhole.
“Captain, I’m detecting a Kazon ship and a Borg cube.” Said Dani.
“Red Alert. James, hail Voyager.” Said Captain
Captain Janeway’s image appeared on the viewscreen.
“Captain, we’ll need to fight them off for a while before the wormhole opens, only a few minutes, then we should be in.” said James.
“No problems, Captain Tucker. If we fight together, we’ll survive.-” Janeway was thrown off balance, the viewscreen returned to black.
Voyager got caught in the Borg’s tractor beam. Supernova immediately opened fire and aimed for their tractor beam but it was futile, it was shielded off.
“Captain, the wormhole will collapse soon. The Kazon ship seems to be destroying it. We only have a few options. We can go in the wormhole and go home but leave Voyager here, stay and save Voyager but risk not going home or try to rescue Voyager. We don’t have time to save Voyager so that leaves us with two options.” Said Lieutenant Amutu.
The Kazon ship opened fire upon the Borg cube, but it fired back causing substantial damage to the ship. Voyager was getting dragged into the Borg cube even further. Both the Borg cube and Kazon ship discharged weapons fire at Voyager and the wormhole- it wasn’t going to hold. A decision needed to be made. Supernova dodged several weapon discharges from the Kazon ship and returning fire and then turning about forty degrees.
“Lieutenant Amutu, is there any way we can free Voyager before the wormhole closes or gets destroyed for that matter?” asked Thomas.
“No Captain. We don’t have enough power. It’s either now or never. Captain, I’m receiving a message from Voyager, it’s in text. Their audio and visual communications are temporarily disabled. They recommend that we leave.” James said as the ship had tremor from enemy weapons fire.
“Alright…in the interests of the safety of this crew, it would make it worse if there were two lost ships out here. What counts is…that we got further than everyone else and have at least given Voyager hope. I know this is hard. Ensign Davis, take us into the wormhole.” The Captain said with a shiver.
“Captain, how can you do this? The Borg are going to kill Voyager if we don’t help. We can’t just leave them behind like this to die.” Lucy argued.
“Number one, there’s no telling if us and Voyager will survive in one piece against Voyager and the Borg. Davis, take us in.” Thomas said.
Just as the wormhole was going to close, Supernova made it in. The journey in the wormhole was rough, explosions went off, but they made it to the other side as the Wormhole snapped shut behind them.

Epilogue

Captain’s log: Well, we nearly did it. I’m starting to regret leaving Voyager out there, but even Admiral Cartel told to make sure we didn’t make Supernova a second lost ship in that region of space. Quite surprisingly, the journey out of Romulan space is ok, no trouble just yet. There’s a lot of angry people with me, but I’m sure the crew will come to terms with it…maybe. As for the mysterious hologram, I will be talking to Admiral Cartel about the malfunction and launching an investigation.

Commander Beckanim entered Thomas’s waiting room. Thomas turned around to see Lucy.
“Look, before you say anything. I know I-” Thomas was cut off.
“Thomas, it’s ok. I appreciate the care you took for our crew. It was a tough decision to make and it was a rational one. You’re right, how were you to know if we’d survive? I’m sorry, Captain.”
“Don’t be, I just feel sorry for Voyager and its crew. I gave them so much hope and then…left them in the water.”
“You gave them hope, inspiration, a reason to keep going. Not only that, you’ve created a certain cohesiveness on the ship amongst the crew. Please, have faith.”
“Thank-you, Lucy. Lets go out on the bridge.”

They both stood on the bridge, destined for home. Although Thomas had formally introduced himself when the mission started, he wanted to conclude.
“I know there are mixed feelings here. If I were to go back and we were caught in the same situation, I’d do the same. I’m glad that there is a difference of opinion here. It’s good to see we all feel and think differently, individuality is of paramount importance. My decision was for you. I knew you were all uncomfortable there. If you’re angry about it, please, talk to me, I’m open. As for Voyager, today does not mark the final effort to get the crew back. There will be more throughout Starfleet. What counts most is that, we’re together on this ship fulfilling the work of our predecessors- to discover strange new worlds, seek out new life and new civilisation. Although today may not have been entirely successful for a first mission, I want us to learn by our mistakes and put them into practice in future situations. I value you all. Ensign Davis, continue current destination, maximum warp.”
It indeed was their first mission, but there were more adventures to follow. Maybe this was the beginning of a promising future or were they prepared for an even bigger fall?

Lightbulb Any reviews/feedback?

Well, my fan fiction has been up for a while now, any thoughts? Please, i'd love some feedback on this. A full fledged review would be fantastic. The reason i'm asking is because if no-one's goingto read them then, there's not much point in writing them.
