I have a small hunch that a certain Mr. Solo might win this one

Although I am tempted to vote that way myself, I am instead going to go for Obi Wan. He is just very very cool. Perfect Hero material if ever there was, both in his old and young incarnations

I think the three way lightsaber duel in Episode 1 is my favourite sequence in ANY of the Star Wars movies, so that probably helped him win this one for me. Plus, errr, EWAN MACGREGOR!

I would have to go with Luke! He turned from a simple farmboy into a hero. And he was a hero in all 3 of the movies! He blew up the death star, he risked his life to try to save his friends by going into a trap that he knew was a trap and he confronted Vader and made him see that he was not all bad before he died. That to me is a hero. And he never let any of it go to his head.

Teehee! I guess that is one thing Luke had going for him... He was a bit too weedy and whiny in A New Hope for my liking though

I agree with that, but it also shows how much his character grew and matured by ROTJ.

I haven't answered yet because I'm still thinking. This is a hard one. They are all worthy of my vote, they are all different with different a agenda and personality. Still can't decide, but I'm reading the other comments.

Wise, against the darkside, ... looks a little like my pet cat.

Any guy who's about 2 foot tall and can fight like Yoda did in episode 2 deserves respect!

...even if he is a puppet/digital character

Han, Obi-Wan and Yoda were all up there.

Yoda mainly because he just rocks. Full stop. With walking sticks on top.

Obi-Wan because in ANH he is great, *bows down* as OC in TPM and AOTC. Plus Ewan and Alec

But my original favourite snarks his way to the top spot by the hem of his Corellian-blood-striped pants. Sorry, but Solo steals the show

Well, before I read everyone's reasons for voting the way they did, I just have to say that Luke Skywalker was always MY hero, but in the entire story of Star Wars, the greatest hero would have to be YODA.

He's the only one who's motives are completely selfless.

Nuff said.

Edited to add: Good reasons for the others, too, but how come nobody's voted for Leia? She's just as heroic as Han... what a lot for their kids to live up to, eh?
