If there were another spin-off...

No Spoilers!

If the Powers That Be decided for any reason to create another Buffy spin-off on the television, which of these options would you most like to see?

Faith the Vampire Slayer
Dawn the Vampire Slayer
Willow the Witch
Fray (Whedon's comic book slayer)
The continued adventures of Spike (possibly and Dawn - H2's idea, I think)
Anya and Xander (?)
Tales of the Slayer
Other

I think my own vote would go for a Tales of the Slayer style show - where perhaps they could put a different spin on the idea of a series by giving us a new slayer with each season. A bit like the standalone episodes of The Outer Limits or something like that. Perhaps even with an underlying arc that ran thoughout the seasons - with one particular villain or villains, or some other connection.
I guess with the fickle nature of tv execs, they would be unlikely to give the go-ahead to what I think would be an ambitious project, but it is probably the one I would most like to see tried.

Have I missed any obvious ones out?

I want a Spin off to be Spike and Drusilla doing what they do best. Killing people.

I kinda like the sound of the Faith one but I also think it would kinda end up like Buffy....
But like you the Tales of a Slayer could be really intresting!

To be fair - I picked up that idea off another forum, on the Buffy boards at www.fireflyfans.net, in case you are wondering.
But I think it could be pretty great - perhaps we could have one season of Faith before moving into unknown Slayers... I know that David Fury has expressed interest in a Faith series - but obviously Ms Dushku woud have to really want to do it.

well - I'm particularly partial to a show about Spike

(and yeah - the Spike and Dawn thing was mine - for more info, you'd have to hit the season 7 section - b/c otherwise this post would be choc-full of spoilers) --

but - the 'other slayers' idea is intriguing also ---

Me too! Spike cracks me up! I would love to see a show just about him and his adventures. I'm sure it would be hilarious!

Frankly I don't like any of those ideas nor like those charcters very much. The charcters (and shows) I would like to see would be Tara and one with Oz. Those shows would be really good if done right.

I really wish they would hurry up with Ripper though and thank god for Angel.

Hey great topic!

I voted for 'Tales of a Slayer' as it sounds quite unusual, although would also be partial to 50 mins of Spike and only Spike!

Worst would be 'Dawn the Vampire Slayer' but I think I may have already made my feelings known on this point!

I'm sorry, I cant choose. I'd probably have to say I wouldn't watch any, cause one of the greatest things about BTVS is how all the characters bounce of one another...Imagine Spike unable to verbaly(?) spar with the Slayer (before they started..to..um..ya know), or how Giles got frustrated with Xander, and how Willow and Anya just sort of clash at times...and I could go on..

But I do know alot of it has to do with the writing. If they write a good show (not holding my breath), I may want to watch it.

Since this is a spoiler-free thread (or mostly) I have posted a new rumour regarding a Buffy spin off in a new thread over HERE.

The linked thread has some minor spoilage for season seven - beyond the stage UK viewers are at, anyway. Ob or someone might be able to add whether it is spoilage for US viewers.

The thread does contain spoilage that won't come to pass until the end of Buffy Season Seven and a few weeks from now on Angel.

To do a proper spinoff series, you need a main character who can do the proverbial "kicking of the buttage" - i.e. have lots of cool fight scenes with people. That being said there are only 2 characters who fit the bill here - Faith and Spike.

Personally I'd love to see a Faith spinoff show, seeing as she's my favorite Buffy character.

A Spike show does have potential, but it could be perceived as a ripoff of Angel. I also find the Spike character too one-dimensional to carry his own show.

The best bet would be a Faith show.

On a side note, on Angel the best characters would either Conner or Wesley.

Personally the only spin-off i'm interested in seeing is 'Ripper', so i wish they'd get a move on!!!

A Faith spin-off could be cool, as long as it was the more in depth, less annoying, less psycho Faith of the later seasons.

As for Spike, i just don't think it would work without Buffy to spar with him.

The spin-off I want to see now is a Spike and Anya show - there's always been a spark between them, they're the funniest characters in the show plus both have plenty of experience and history to draw on. Okay, okay, it's just that they're my fave characters I admit it. Haven't figured out what line the show could take - love to see a Moonlighting type show but the PI bit is too close to Angel so open to suggestions.
