Okay, who did you get your info from about ppl not liking Spidey? Spiderman is one of the world's most popular comix. Granted this is post the question, knowing the totals already, but I figured Spiderman would do very well in the box office, if just due to the loyality of comic-book nerds (like myself). With Stan Lee working on the film, obviously the movie would hold true to the storyline and look of the comic laid down by Stan "the Man" Lee and Steve Ditko. I suppose the next question we should ask is "Will Daredevil and The Hulk do as well when they are released?" Daredevil and The Hulk are just 2 of several comic-to-movie adaptions in the works now

Spider-Man 2 (2004) Check out the IMDB entry. With Spider-Man being the biggest grossing superhero movie so far (and a kick in the backside for Lucas and co ) TPTB have decided to 'take a chance' on a sequel. With the relatively huge success of the Batman franchise (don't mention Joel Schumacher) it is likely that was a strong possibilty right from the beginning. With filming set to begin in January 2003, Director Sam Raimi and writer David Kroepp (also wrote Panic Room - I think he's great) are already on board, as well as the Maguire and Dunst. Also credited on IMDB are Sam Neill - as Doctor Octopus, and Bruce Campbell. Bruce Campbell, whom most will know from Xena and The Evil Dead movies, made a fleeting appearance as the wrestling compere/announcer in the first SPider-Man movie. Sam Neill as Doc Oc - hmm not too sure yet about that. I remember the rumours from way back when James Cameron was trying to get this movie made, with Michael Biehn in the title role and Schwarzenegger as Doctor Octopus - I never really got the image of the Austrian behemoth as this character out of my head.

Actually - looks like the success of the movie had little to do with the sequel's greenlight - Raimi signed on to do this movie in April! Over a month before it actually opened! There's confidence for you...

Hey Cheri Hmmm, I think the Sam Neil thing was never totally confirmed. I don't know how much of a fan of Buffy you are, but before season five (or maybe six) aired, there was an entry for Shannon Doherty as Giles' daughter. Evidently this turned out not to be true. SO basically all I am saying is that until it goes into production we probably don't know for sure. On reflection, I think Neil would make a fairly good Doc Oc, on reflection. He was pretty good as the evil thing in Event Horizon, anyway.

i've never seen buffy before or event horizon. that's one of them i'd like to check out lol i think sam would make a good doc ock too. i can picture him with the moe howard hairdo and the dark glasses and the tentacles lol i'd love to see bruce play the lizard also. i can see him doing that and since doctor connors has an arm missing in human form and ash lopped off his hand in the evil dead movies, bruce has experience with missing limbs LOL

![]() Only kidding, but I can't really see this happening, I do like Stewart, but I am beginning to think he has dollar signs for eyes ![]() I wonder who they would cast him as in Spider-Man, if he was offered a role? I can't think of any character that would suit him - but then, my Spider-Man knowledge really is quite rusty. | |

i'm not sure either, and the reason i really think it might be just a rumor is because he was so reluctant to do xmen. he didn't think people should play 2 major cultural icons in 1 lifetime, so i'm not sure he'd be thrilled about playing 3. but it is at least a rumor i heard.
