George Lucas told Entertainment Tonight that the next Star Wars installment will be different from the previous ones, according to a report on TheForce.net. In spoilery comments about Episode III to the entertainment news show, Lucas said that the Clone Wars would end at the beginning of the film, and it would then become very small and personal. Meanwhile, the Australian Daily Telegraph newspaper reported that two Australian children might be cast in the pivotal roles of young Luke Skywalker and his twin sister, Leia, in the final Star Wars prequel, which is slated to begin production next year in Sydney. "A baby Luke, if anything, and Leia an Australian? Who knows?" producer Rick McCallum told the newspaper.

Here's how I think Epiosde III will start: After the scrolling text, the camera will move down and we will be engaged with a battle with starfighters. Anakin and possibly Obi-Wan will be among them flying their Jedi Starfighters either fighting with or against an early TIE fighter design. Anakin will be kicking everyones butts even better than Obi-Wans as Obi-Wan himself later said: "He was the best star pilot in the galaxy, and a cunning warrior." In the battle, Anakin will do something spectatular maybe like save Obi-Wan or a capital ship.

I hope no one will mind me moving this thread to Episode III discussions, but I can see spoilers coming soon. I wonder what he means exactly by "the Clone Wars would end at the beginning of the film, and it would then become very small and personal"? I think that after the battles Pidman has described, it will be more deep and meaningful discussions between Anakin and Emperor Palpatine, and Padme having her (twin?) babies, before the final showdown between Obi Wan and Anakin at the end, at the 'volcanic geological feature', whatever it is. Some questions: Why do you think the children get split up? Why do they go to the step-parents that the ultimately do? Yoda is aware of Leia. Do you think that Obi Wan is aware of Leia? If so, why does he become a hermit on Tatooine? (He can only mind after Luke there, and has no idea what happens to Leia.) Leia says she remembers her mother (in RotJ. ) Luke does not. Why would that be so?

Perhaps Padme remarried Organa after thinking Anakin dead (or just lost to the Dark Side). Or perhaps Leia's memories are of a foster mother. I wonder if it would be widely known within certain circles that Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vader? For instance what knowledge would Organa have had. What were the reasons given in the original trilogy for Luke and Leia's adoption? I can't remember. | |

I always thought in that scene in Jedi where Luke was asking Leia what she remembers about her mother that they were both referring to their biological mother, Amidala. That's why Luke is so interested and says he has no memory of her and why Leia remembers only a little bit, emotions, her sadness. I hope the third film is closer and more personal, and very well done. This is sort of the pivotal film, really, as far as all 6 go and I hope it will be the best of all of them. I can't wait to find out all the answers to these questions. For 25 years now I've been wondering the answers to Dave's questions. I really can't wait to find out!!! :star::star::star:

Perhaps Leia, as Force-sensitive, remembers those snatches because of that... Did Padme flee with Leia to Alderaan or was she already dead? Bail was Obi-Wan's comrade in the Clone Wars, so he was looking after her whilst Obi-Wan thought, maybe, that he needed to look after Luke? (Sexist, maybe?) As for how Yoda can sense Leia... why can't Darth Vader? Or does he choose not to say anything? *g* Let's all annoy Lucas on that count! Reports say Epi III will be dark, with lots of epic sabre fights to rival ROTJ and definately NOT a happy ending!

the first short straw the characters being chosen to imbue adventure about obe ,luke, lieha, annakin,or even the now mr. vader probabley will show why the particular attitudes in the original series are that way.the context about survival and the twins real mother is going to be excentuated in another conflict,ha ha,as if vader doesn't control the house.the most interesting element per how or why will be what the young luke or pademe or annakin reveal about their saber apprehensive jedi appeal.settle me in for the shocking twist/vader evil because...pademe certain death in the air...

*wanders in* "During the Clone Wars, Organa befriended General Obi-Wan Kenobi, and the revered Jedi Knight served him well in that terrible conflict. When Kenobi's apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, succumbed to the dark side, Kenobi sent Skywalker's lover, Padmé Amidala, to Organa for hiding. Amidala hid one of her twin offspring in the high court of Alderaan, and this child, Leia Organa, was adopted into the Royal Family. " http://starwars.com/databank/charact...ana/index.html There you go. "Obi-Wan was instrumental in hiding Anakin's offspring, so that neither the Dark Lord, nor his master, the Emperor Palpatine, knew of their whereabouts. He took the young boy, Luke, to live with Owen and Beru Lars, moisture farmers on Tatooine. The young girl, Leia, was taken to Viceroy Bail Organa of Alderaan, whom Obi-Wan had served during the Clone Wars. As the Jedi's ranks were wiped out by the machinations of the emergent Empire, Obi-Wan went into hiding on Tatooine. He would stay there for decades, adopting the name of Ben. The locals would refer to him as a "crazy old hermit," and gave the eccentric old man a wide berth." http://www.starwars.com/databank/cha...obi/index.html Just saying where they go and kinda why. LOL as for how it begins...uhm... I could see it as suggested, obi and ani in starfighters fighting early TIEs...but then again, TIEs were imperial ships, and it's not likely that they'd kick in till after palpy has total control as well as has anaking on his side as vader so...*shrugs*
