How does the Dune mini- compare with the movie? I really enjoyed the Dune mini-series, it felt very close to the book. And while I did like the 1984 movie (medium to big David Lynch fan here), you can't really say that it was very true to Frank Herbert's original ideas. Any thoughts, comments?

I thought the mini series was better than the film, it covered a heck of a lot more in terms of story and also had the right feel to it. The only bone of contention I had with the series was the actor who played Gurney Halleck. He looked like a Halleck. He walked like a Haleck. He spoke like a complete goit. The guy really couldn't handle some of the more well spoken lines which kinda detracted from the more dramatic scenes. But that was only a very small blemish on what I thought was a fine production all round .

Sorry I will have to go with the original 1984 movie. The mini series was great, don't get me wrong, they covered more of the story. True PH Moriarty did not hold a light to Patrick Stewart playing Gurney Halleck IMHO. Call me a old timer Stryker
