Re: Who was the better character in the films? Majimaume have u seen the behind the scene shots. Andy Serkis deserves a nomination. Everything he did was absolutely amazing. There couldn't be a better person to play Gollum, not even animation by itself could have done such a good job.

Re: Who was the better character in the films? Yes I have seen the behind the scene shots and yes I agree with you. You know he started getting into the character before he even got the role. Whole days that he went around on his hands and knees like Gollom just so he might get the part.

Re: Who was the better character in the films? I thought the Gollum charactered was based very much (in speech and looks) on the version in Bakshi's animated film Boromir and Samwise were by far the closest characters to those portrayed in the books , and I thought Elijah Wood was a poor Frodo My favourite character from the films is not on the list , but it's Christopher Lee's Saruman , a suitable opponent for the mighty Gandalf , and (possibly) one last chance for Lee to play the bad guy

Re: Who was the better character in the films? Aside from the fact that Aragorn was the hottest, but for me when he first "meets" Frodo, it was how I imagine from reading the book he would look. He is loyal and dependable and HOT. I portrays his character well. Although I also throught Gimli was good to.

Lee is the best. PJ hardly told him to do anything. You know when he gets stabbed on top of Orthank? He aparently tries to make the sound of a man being stabbed, which he has heard. | |||

Re: Who was the better character in the films? Was gonna suggest Farimir, because he let Sam and Frodo go. He resisted the power of the ring, and his own deep desires to live up to his brother in his fathers eyes, not to mention forfeiting his life. Was some great acting too. Then I remembered in the second film he sacrificed himself (well almost) and many of his men, at the time they were most needed, because he wouldn't stand upto his father, or himself. And he got Eowyn, the git ![]() Would go with Sam, but his portrayal in the film reminds me too much of Chief O'Brien in DS9. Kept expecting him to call Rosie "Barkeep". I always admired him for preventing his men from stopping Gandalf, when the fellowship go to meet Theoden. Was a shame him being killed so early on.

Re: Who was the better character in the films? Boromir, because I prefer ambiguous characters. The others were either too goody-good or too obviously evil. Another wonderful character was Gollum, for the same reason.
