Re: Who was the better character in the films? And still died like a hero defending people who were doing soemthing he didn't agree with ![]() Call me warped (although I usually answer to 'gitbag') but that appeals to something in my character.

Re: Who was the better character in the films? Meh, Boromir wasn't really my favorite character, but that was definitely my favorite scene in the first movie, I must have watched it 30 times after downloading. Maybe I'm just as warped as you (though I doubt it ), but I think its a culmination of the strong sacrificing themselves for the weak, and the way he just kept on going with a dozen arrows in him, (and like you said...)even while knowing the people he was dying for were doing something he didn't agree with.

Re: Who was the better character in the films? hey going way back towards the start of the thread it was meriadoc brandybuck, by the third film a rider of rohan, who stabbed the witch king in the leg not pippin as at the time pippin was still within the walls of gondor being a guard of the citadell and not on the fields of pelinor. pippin later found merri after the battle with an injured arm -- which -- he recieved when he stabbed the witch king in the leg. just thought i would add my two cents my favourite character is a close call between both merri and pippin as they are both so fun but also grow up throughout the journey.

Re: Who was the better character in the films? Haha, i like how NO ONE has voted for frodo I voted for Aragorn, because vigo is perfect for the role, hes loyal to the fellowship, hes intriguing, and he has the best fights. The worst no question is legolas. In the books and the cartoon hes great. In the films apart from some of his fight scenes hes pants. Why? Because Borelando Bloom is the worst actor in the whole film, he does two good bits of acting 1) his look when Gandalf says "Balroq, a demon from the deep" and 2) his reaction to Gandalf's death. But this isn't supposed to be a rant about legolas is it ![]()

Re: Who was the better character in the films? Aragorn was the coolest nothing to do with the film(although viggo played him well) but in the book he gives his all to save frodo and the ring and pushs everyone on to the goal. He also has his own insecuritys to deal with and has a lot of pressure on his shoulders to fufill his destiny but keeping the destruction of the ring as his main priority

Re: Who was the better character in the films? Aragorn was the most inspiring for me, but upon sober reflection I would have to cast my vote for Sean Astin's Sam for really imparting humanity to the movies. Also his role seemed to be the most demanding, as Samwise goes through the whole spectrum of emotions to an extent that no one else does. Love, comedy, joy, anger, sorrow, bemusement, heroism...

Re: Who was the better character in the films? Frodo for me, because at the end of the day, that tiny guy saved the entire world from evil, and resisted the ring more than anyone else was able to. A toast to the main Hobbit!!!

Re: Who was the better character in the films? I think they did Gollum perfectly, even though he is so terrble you can't help but feel pity for him and around the middle i was even liking him. It is amazing what they did to create him too(watched the special features). He looked great and sounded perfect.
