Sorry, but another poll on this topic got me wondering about the opinions of my Scaper buddies, so I thought I'd post a smaller version here. Feel free to tell us about any 'ships that got you wondering/wishing/hoping/dreaming, but let us know first which Sci Fi couple you think is the best. Personally, I'm a hopeless shipper (someone into relationships) so I usually root for people to get together, but listed in this poll are the more obvious and hopeful sci fi couples.

I'm not a hopeless shipper at all, and yet I really like the way Farscape & Stargate have (very differently) written the shipper parts of the shows. Farscape has the all-time greatest writers for tension combined with humor for a couple. "Who's in charge," so to speak, changes from epy to epy, season to season. We are never bored with this couple. Even with the season 3 endingwith the possibility of a baby on boardwhich REALLY annoys me, I still think the writers have (so far) made J&A a great couple. I like how the writers of Stargate (I know; I'm in a very tiny minority here) have written the J&S shipper parts equally as well, which I think is important because they are writing within a military "rules & regs" scenario. The writers have added shipper issues, in small segments, over a five season period. It is not a major arc of the series, and it has not gotten in the way of the teamwork, which is the primary arc for the series. In fact, it appears that it is the fans who have created much more of a shipper issue for this series than actually exists within the epys. And anyone with a sense of perspective (and humor) knows how this one should end: with J&S fishing. ![]() And FYI - I don't really know how STNG has gotten past the different shipper arcs (which constantly change in an improbable manner) with fan approval, but they've managed it really well. Riker & Troi; Riker and Troi as friends; Troi and Worf as friends; Troi and Worf as . . . looked like alot more than friends to me ; Worf marries Dax; and in the tenth ST movie the movie supposedly begins with Riker and Troi getting married.Personally, my favorite couple of all time is Troi and Worf, but I didn't vote like I should have. ![]()

Oh, yeah, I was going to put Aragorn and whomever Liv Tyler's character was in LOTR, but obviously, I forgot her name. Now THAT'S a relationship that surprised me in how it just really fit and seemed so destined to be... I hope I get to see more of it when the other LOTR movies come out. ![]() There are several other SW relationships I love, too, but most are from the "expanded universe" and are not nearly as well known as Han and Leia, so they're the only one I put into the poll. I finally voted, too... for John and Aeryn, of course. After all, I am the "Ultimate J/A Shipper." :naughty: Now. Who voted for Han and Leia?

I am assuming that this poll is about couples in all media. the greastest one in all media is Clark kent and Lois Lane. Though you wouldn't be able to tell it in the last 14 years of comics. I am voting based apon the first stories writen by Superman's co creator Jerry siegel. Note the woman he based Lois on a female reporter in real life he tied the knot with. In a copyright dispute in 49 he was fired. During the 50 and 60's it was more miss than hit. When Juile Schartz took over the Superman books as editor and E. Nelson Bridwell lending a hand the spark was back until 86. When Juile retired. I could on a more however I may have over ranted as it is. ZachWZ

@ PkGrl The woman Liv Tyler portraits in LOTR is Arwen Evenstar. We should see a little more of her in the next 2 Movies, but I guess it won't be to much since her role in the book is very small and her relationship and the meanig of it for Aragorn is explained more deeply in the apendix to the LOTR books in "The story of Aragorn and Arwen". However, in this Forum it was totaly clear that Aeryn & John would come out first. ![]()
